Twisty thriller set in New York.

Having bonded over their messy divorces, Sam, Diane and Margaret are going away together for a much needed weekend break when car trouble forces them to stay overnight in a small mountain town.

It just happens that the town they've ended up in is where Sam's ex is now living. He recently texted that he missed her and, with the cocktails flowing she decides to post her location on Instagram and see what happens.

But when a body is found, it turns out none of them are actually telling the truth about their relationships,

Three new friends Sam, Margaret, and Diana are thrilled to be getting out of the city for a girlie weekend away - they have bonded over their messy divorces and want to put their exes in the past. They are staying at Margaret's friends cabin. What can go wrong?

The trip starts going awry from the start with car trouble stranding them in the most unlikely mountain towns. When Diane does not return home after a night out. Sam and Margaret's search for her reveals just how little they know about their friend.

This was a great read full of tension and secrets. I was hooked from the start and didn't want to put this amazing book down.

Three girls get away for the weekend, each one of them has a good reason to grab a bit of downtime. But things go wrong quite quickly, the car breaks down, the car keys are lost, they have to hang around and wait for the car to be fixed. And that's just the start. There are plenty of twists and turns which keep you guessing, and although I thought it was a little far fetched at times, would make a good beach read!

A good story with plenty of twists. The characters were interesting each with their own story, This would be an excellent beach read!

Short and snappy chapters mean I read it in 2 sittings. I loved the 3 characters and the back story. I knew it would be a twist but did not see it. So for that alone it’s 5 stars. However, the pace is gripping and I’ll be buying more of her books.

3 friends who all bonded over their recent divorces go away on a girls weekend, but one of their friend's disappears and exes start texting and appearing. Nobody knows who to trust!

I thought this was cleverly written and had a good level of drama and intrigue which is needed for a thriller. The characters were described very well and I also enjoyed the back stories which added to the plot

Sam needs a break - she's split up with her husband Harry after only a month together and she's heartbroken. Enter best friends Margaret and Diana, ready to swoop in and save the day by whisking her off on a mini getaway together, but from the very beginning their trip seems doomed. Breaking down on the side of the road, losing their car keys and forced to find last minute accommodation in the same town as Harry - surely it can't get worse?

This is the first book I've read from Leah Konen but it definitely won't be the last! Konen deftly crafts each character expertly, giving just enough of their backstories to create intrigue, while still keeping enough behind to not overkill the reader with unnecessary detail. Each character is likeable, yet full of flaws, adding to the realism of each of their interactions. The narrative starts quickly, automatically laying the foundations for the various story arcs. As the plot progresses, the fast-paced, tense situations remain high throughout, keeping the story believable and realistic yet still exciting. The suspect list is lengthy - but doesn't veer into ridiculousness, staying straightforward and interesting.

With such an intriguing story, the fear of the ending being a let down is strong, but Konen doesn't disappoint. The various twists are done expertly, catching even seasoned thriller readers off guard, all leading to the exciting culmination that wraps everything up swiftly yet succinctly.

The Perfect Escape is a perfect thriller - so escape into Konen's wonderfully written world and enjoy this brilliant novel.

This was an ok read. It started off ok and then I lost interest as the plot seemed to extreme. Not the best thriller I have read but also not the worst.

A cleverly written piece of fiction. Three women on a trip when their car breaks down. There are lots of twists, lies and secrets building to a surpising end. I would reommend this to anyone who likes a good psychological thriller.

I stayed up late at night trying to get to the last pages of this one. This is a thriller that I devoured! A rollercoaster with heart pumping moments galore.

Sam, Margaret and Diana have endured their fair share of heartache and feel that what they need most in the world is a girls retreat to ease their stress. But of course we know that the 'perfect escape' will be far from it.
This book is a rollercoaster ride with lots of ups, downs and twists to keep the reader hooked to the very end.

It all starts with a lost set of car keys and ends in the murder of Sam's ex. Can they get to the bottom of what happened and why in the midst of the the angst has Diana suddenly gone missing?

This book is full of twists and turns and the final twist really will leave the reader shocked to the core. This was a fantastic read and I can't wait to read more by Leah Konen.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.

This was a tense page turner and I loved it.

A girls trip away. Dianna running from her abusive partner, Sam getting over her husband leaving her and Margaret in the process of separating from her husband following a tragedy that pushed them further apart. A weekend to relax and let their hair down. What could go wrong?

Everything! As they lose the car key, get stranded and one of them goes missing things get more and more strange. A murder and many more secrets come to ahead during an exciting climax. Personally I thought the 'aftermath' ending could have been more but really enjoyed it overall.

The Perfect Escape tells the story of 3 women who have bonded over their impending divorces. Sam, Diana and Margaret decide to book a girls' weekend away in order to escape from the stresses of home and their ex-partners. However, it all starts to go wrong when the car key is lost and they find themselves spending an unplanned night in a small town where one of the exes happens to live. Everything unravels from there and the three women realise that they don't know each other as well as they thought they did.

This was a well paced, exciting read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Each of the three women narrated chapters and I felt as though I had a good insight into each of their lives. None of the women were particularly likeable, but this didn't stop me from enjoying the book. It was dark and creepy in places and a real page turner.

My thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for sending me this ARC in return for an honest review.

Although at times, very far reaching storyline I did enjoy reading this and welcomed the little plot twists and turns. Nothing really came as too much of a surprise as I had a feeling I knew who the killer was quite early on- but was not sure of the motive.
I think it got wrapped up too easily in a little bow and would have been a better story had it not been so neat and predictable and yet far fetched at the same time.

A book of mixed feelings from me!

This was definitely a slow burner and took me quite a while to actually get into but my interest grew the further I got into it.

I can't say it 'gripped' hold of like like I was expecting from the blurb. Something which I can't put my finger on just didn't grab a hold of me, maybe I was expecting something that hadn't actually been promised!

I didn't particularly like or gel with any of the characters, I found them shallow and rather dull.

On a more positive note...the storyline kept me guessing throughout and the twist at the end was unexpected which is always a plus.

Overall a good read that has plenty of red herrings thrown in for good measure.
