It is a nice surprise to read a book by a New Zealand author as I don't see many of them about yet I know they are out there. This was an interesting read and to me a bit of a self-help style fiction read to the point of reading it at times like a guide book.

It had good bits and somewhat boring bits, I just felt it wasn't really a great read as far as novels are concerned but I did like some of the characters and the setting took me back to my time in NZ.

All in all it was okay but not a book for me!

I struggled with this one. While the story line is peppered with well written insights and phrases I just couldn't connect. The storyline took more than a third of the book to marry the main characters together and then dropped some of them completely. While the book took forever to come together, it ended almost without bothering to develop.

I very much appreciated being given the opportunity to read an advance copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion

A story told through the lives of five very different people and how their paths have crossed. A beautiful book with endearing characters a truly lovely read.

While the book had well-written insights and ideas sprinkled throughout it, the separate character stories felt like just an excuse to share poems or thoughts without much context. The characters didn’t seem to own these concepts and instead it felt like the ideas were forced on them instead of belonging to the characters. Without giving away any spoilers, I saw the ending coming from a mile away. Instead of feeling like a resolution of so many different viewpoints, the end of the book felt like a neat bow that had to be tied to justify the entire book.

The Seekers Garden is a knotted up affair of women trying to figure out their life.
It is not my usual style I’m drawn to and i found myself not wanting to finish the book…but I did!
I’m glad I did, because the well deserved ending made it all worth while.

*Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an ARC. I couldn't finish this book. In fact, I only read about 12,% of it. If you like touchy-feely, self-affirming books, maybe it's for you. It made me want to punch someone's face.

The Seekers' Garden is the first novel I read that is about new-age spirituality. It's interesting to read how people go through a personal transformation using chakra meditation, inner child healing, and tarot reading. While the author's message is clear, the storyline is muddled with too much reflection by the characters. As the story goes on, the characters detail what they think about the world and life in general. These lengthy paragraphs of contemplations make me feel I am reading a spiritual book, not a fictional narrative. The chapters of the book are like puzzles that don't fit with each other, and the story is rushed towards the end.

Personal growth, spiritual journey, and inner transformation are topics I am curious about, but the way this book presents these things doesn't work for me.

This is a unique story about 5 very different people with various issues going on in their lives, all on a soul-searching journey and a way to move forward with what they feel is blocking them emotionally.

Marcia moves from England to New Zealand, Iris leaves her unfulfilling job on a whim to write a self-help book while her teenage son Alex struggles with life and his girlfriend. Lea is Alex’s girlfriend and tries to make sense of the feelings she has for Alex and life in general. Mrs. Evergreen is the aging woman living next door to Marcia and Zane, the rockstar living on the other side of the world. As the story moves along the events bring the main characters together.

I liked the way the connections to each other were made to each other. The author gives us a very personal look at the characters inner thoughts. It’s a book with influences of holistic awareness and New Age philosophy. The spirituality side is strong. While this might appeal to many people, it’s not an area that holds too much interest for me however it didn’t detract my curiosity in the storyline and my appreciation of the author’s . writing. I think perhaps people that are looking at new ways of seeing things and a different perspective of life might enjoy this novel.

This is the perfect book if you happen to find yourself in a period of change or contemplation. Beautifully written, it easily transports readers on their own journey through the stories of each character and examines relationships in a far deeper way than I was prepared for. I highly recommend this book!

A story of life thru the eyes of many different people all from different ages. They all have one thing in common. They are trying to find themselves and live. This book has moments of heartbreak, love, and hope.

This is a profoundly moving, beautiful book. I loved all of the characters, deeply, and didn't want to leave their world. The Seeker's Garden is a treasure, and I'm delighted to have found it.
