A couple go to the wedding of a former pop group member and mysterious happenings take place there.

I liked this book. It is well-written and moves at a good pace. What takes The Wedding Murders from a run-of-the-mill thriller are the flashbacks to the band in the 90s, which were really well done.

This book was so good - I read it in 1 day! It's a page turner from start to finish and the ending will really surprise the reader. Great plot and great characters.

Just another in a line of Agatha Christie/Lucy Foley knockoffs, very predictable and done before. not enough development in the characters for me to really care

This was an easy enough read. I didn't feel it was overly spectacular but I did enjoy it and would read more from this author

A classic whodunnit with a mixed in time sequence.

Loved the split chapters and the different points of view.

Reading about the band was mr favourite and how they made it big. Was very convincing. Did not work out the killer until it was announce so overall a decent thriller.

An easy mystery story surrounding a wedding. The main character itself has an interesting journey but it is sometimes hard to follow along her conclusions. I also an not the right audience for all these twists and turns thrown throughout.

A young single mother who has just got her first big break as a journalist is accompanying her boyfriend to the wedding of his former bandmate. The band broke up decades ago for mysterious reasons, and tensions remain high between the surviving members. When one wedding guest disappears, the main character suspects foul play, but everyone refuses to listen. As she tries to find out what happened, she may be uncovering secrets that some people would kill to protect.

The present-day timeline is gripping, with the slightly fish-out-of-water main characters finding out she doesn’t know her boyfriend that well, and her worry that something bad has happened to one of the guests. Unfortunately, the flashback chapters from the point of view of her boyfriend are nowhere near as interesting.

The mystery is good, there is a good cast of suspects and it is pleasantly hard to untangle the mess of motives. It does have the feel of an Agatha Christie in the present-day chapters, with the whole cast assembled at a swanky hotel in the countryside for a celebrity wedding. The denouement is truly exciting.

Sadly, this one was really not my cup of tea and I probably wouldn’t have finished it if it hadn’t been an arc.

Characters, plot and setting all feel quite cliché and hard to believe. The main character, Libby, a youngish single mother and aspiring journalist, leaps to conclusions without any evidence throughout the book. Are we meant to agree with her POV? Other parts of the book are flashbacks to the members of a 90’s band with a guilty secret. What unites the parts is that no one is really likeable.

I enjoyed reading this book, and as the the storyline unfolded and we found out more and more I couldn't wait to get to the end. Did I see it coming? No! Definitely worth a read!

Interesting but not really my cup of tea. Well written I just personally couldn’t get into the story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

An absolute delight of a detective story! Fast-paced, really hard to put down. It is actually quite short, not a Dostoevsky for sure, so it's really easy to get through in one, may be in 2 sittings - just like I did.

Sarah Linley is a master story-teller and her Libby, an "everyday" woman, a young single mother of one, is an interesting take on the amateur sleuth character. The plot is good, the characters are contemporary and realistic, their actions are so in-character, yet the story is still full of twists and turns. I liked how Linley plays with the timeline and the narrator, inching us closer to the solution every time she switches view.

A light, easy to read mystery surrounding a missing bridesmaid during a celebrity wedding. One of the guests is pretty sure that the bridesmaid has been murdered. Then she sets about trying to work out why and by whom.

It's an uneasy gathering of old friends who haven't seen each other for decades. The story is told from three points of view: the girlfriend of one of the friends, a flashback to the 1990s when the friends developed their career as a band, and sections from an unpublished autobiography charting the rise of the band. There is a secret from the past and warnings not to trust anyone.

This is a tale expressed in a modern way, with a bit of name dropping and references to the pop culture of the nineties. The flashback sections are recalled in mostly broad overarching exposition until the significant event. Not sure why the protagonist jumped to the conclusion that there would be several murders following the disappearing bridesmaid - that's quite a leap - but there would be no tension otherwise.

Plenty of mystery to pull the story along in this straightforward telling. Unconvoluted whodunnit.

A wedding at a high-end manor house is the setting for this whodunit thriller.

Libby is Matthew's plus one for the wedding. Matthew was one of the members of a successful band in the 90's and at the wedding there is a reunion - Simon, Amir and groom Daniel make up the remaining members. But tensions rise as it's revealed Simon is planning to publish a memoir revealing all. What are they hiding?

And why has Natalya, Simon's ex wife and one of the bridesmaids gone missing?

As events get murkier, it seems Libby is the only one concerned enough to ask questions. But will her curiosity get her in trouble?

An engaging and fast paced thriller with flashbacks that fill in the blanks. Overall, an enjoyable read.

It cleverly switched between past and present and had me guessing throughout. It was an unusual and original plot, with plenty of twists. The cast of characters were interesting and colourful

I requested this book as it was described as being for fans of Agatha Christie and Lucy Foley, and I love them both. I found this a bit of a disappointment after such expectations unfortunately, It starts with a couple, Libby and Matt, attending the wedding of one of Matt's old band mates. Matt's band were very successful, though it all happened before he and Libby got together. She hasnt met any of the other bandmates before either, so we meet them at the same time as Libby does.
The story is told in flashbacks to the band making it big as well as the wedding weekend; there are also extracts from a memoir of one of the band members. For me, there was a bit too much build up before the story took hold and I couldnt keep track of the characters

Libby is the younger girlfriend of former band member Matthew, and the book is split between Libby's point of view as Matthew plus one at band mate Daniel's wedding, and Matthew's story in the 90s. It's a similar set up to Lucy Foley's books, so if you liked those then you'll probably like this. A lot of the characters aren't terribly sympathetic, but I enjoyed the book anyway - and Libby was an interesting lead.

This was tough to finish. The flashbacks drug on and on.

This is rather an intriguing story which did hold my attention. In the present, from Libby's point of view, she and boyfriend Matthew go to Yorkshire to attend Vicky and Daniel's wedding. Matthew and Daniel, together with Simon and Amir formed a pop band in the early 1990s whilst still at school. Simon was the driving force behind them, writing their songs, and Daniel was lead singer - but they hadn't been in touch since the band broke up after several years.
At a dinner the night before the wedding Simon announces he's written a book about them; Libby witnesses the acrimony that follows. What secrets are they all keeping? Then, on the wedding day, the chief bridesmaid disappears, but Libby's certain that she heard a gunshot somewhere in the hotel grounds.

The narrative also gives us Matthew's point of view on the band's route to stardom to the point of the disaster which tore the band apart.

Intermittently there are extracts from Simon's memoires - again charting their route to success, but detailing his personal decent when enthralled to drink and drugs.

Libby spends her whole time trying to uncover the secret they all hold as well as playing detective to find out what happened to the bridesmaid, and although she was obviously a caring character, her worries and musings became repetitive.
When it all comes to a conclusion I thought it was somewhat rushed; I didn't expect that outcome - and I was left feeling like I'd missed something along the way.
