This is the 2nd book in the series, and even though I haven't read the previous book, I did enjoy this one, and feels it reads nicely enough as a standalone. Book is set in the 2nd World War, and does give the reader a better perspective from what life was like. Especially if you were young and pregnant. Well written, will read more in future.

I love dual time narration so this book delivered on that level for me. The story kept me wanting more and to finish it as fast as possible because I couldn’t wait to see what happened.

1939 ~ Gianna Russo knows she gave birth to twin daughters, but the midwife hands her only one. She quickly learns of her mother’s deception and vows to find her child. Days later, she walks into the woods with Luca Perri and doesn’t come out.

Present Day ~ Ella Perri is convinced she’s being stalked, and she suspects her discovery in Italy may have followed her home. A mysterious delivery suggests the darkest of family secrets await, sending Ella once again to Tuscany’s beautiful streets that harbor a terrible truth. A frightening reality chills her to the bone as she becomes trapped in a mystifying mansion with an evil past…and this time, she might not make it out alive.

Luca thought the secrets he buried decades ago would never come to light. But his niece, Ella, proves differently when she discovers Gianna, the grandmother she never knew, is very much alive. For drastically different reasons, Luca and Ella race to find Gianna in the Tuscan hills where she has been safe…until now.…..

Ohh the storyline was fascinating, deep, intense, thrilling, and shocking! Honestly, as much as I needed to know how it ended

You know what? I found this book to be quite interesting but, at the same time, confusing. Had a hard time keeping all 0f the characters straight and kept feeling like I was missing something. So ( went to the reviews to see what others thought. Apparently, this is a follow-up to another of Ms Baccaro's books, and it was recommended by many to read the other one first. So I am going to do just that, even though I'm more than half-way through with this one. I think I will enjoy it so much more..

I really tried with this one and may have been "grabbed" if I had read the first one in the series first. However, I didn't. I felt lost from page 1 - not a problem jumping between the time periods, just the characters and places with no introduction. Other things in life easily came first so I gave up at about 20%. Just not for me. Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

This a great book, I really enjoyed it! It’s an interesting mystery full of family secrets that kept me turning the pages! We are taken to the past sometimes, travel to Italy, and the story flows smoothly. I love the genealogy search angle, as I’m into that stuff! I like the characters, and the setting is somewhat gothic and very intriguing.

I started this book with great expectations but after just a few chapters I was completely confused. There were far too many characters, there was no flow and I just couldn't put the story together so it made since.

I must say that I never did finish it as I just got so annoyed and so confused it was just not grabbing me and making me want to read.

I love reading dual timeline stories. This book was no exception.
The author really makes it come alive with her narrative. The storyline was well thought out and written with compelling characters and highly descriptive settings.

One Last Secret, by Krissy Baccaro, is one of the best books that I've read this year. It's part mystery, part family drama with a little bit of romance added for good measure. It started a bit slow, for me, but I tend to feel that way even though the story is imparting important details.
In 1939 Gianna Russo has given birth to twin daughters, yet the midwife only gives one. Soon she figures out her mother’s deception and she promises to track down her missing daughter. Soon after, she goes to the forest with Luca Perri and is never seen, in that village, again.
Ella Perri knows she’s being stalked. She thinks her discovery in Italy has followed her to the states. Then there's the mysterious package that points to dark family secrets and Ella's of to Tuscany. When she becomes trapped in a strange manor house, with an evil past, this time, she may have put herself in too much danger. .
Gianna is the Nonna that she never knew about and she's very much alive. For very different reasons, Luca and Ella are racing to find Gianna in the Tuscan hills where she's been safe & sound until now.

Can I tell you how much I love dual time line narration? One Last Secret, was written with such precision and execution that I was immediately consumed and addicted to every turn of the page. Can you tell I loved this book?

In 1939 Gianna gives birth to twin girls. The midwife hands Gianna only one child but she knows there is something wrong and she had definitely given birth to twins. Gianna uncovers her mothers deception and promises to one day find her other daughter. Just a few days later Gianna walks into the woods with Luca Perri and never returns.

Present Day, Ella Perri, knows a secret, a secret that has been in the family for far too long. Ella is convinced someone is watching her, stalking her. Ella must return to Italy to finally figure out what had happened all those years ago.

Luca is worried. He thought the secrets he buried long ago would stay secret but his niece Ella is determined to bring it all to light. Ella has found Gianna, the grandmother she never know. Gianna is alive but for how long?

This is a spooky read and without a doubt, a nail biter.

If you havent already read One Last Secret, I recommend you do so ASAP! 5 stars!

This is the second book in the Ella Perri mysteries; however, I don’t think it’s totally necessary to read the first book in the series to get an understanding of what all is going on.

Ella Perri unleashed a dark cloud when she sought out the secret that her family held for years. In 1939 Gianna Russo gave birth to a beautiful daughter; however, what she was unsure of was if she really gave birth to twins as the midwife only hand her one baby. She quickly learns of the deception of the people around her and vows to search for her child, no matter the costs.

In the present day Ella has the creeping sensation that she is being stalked. She believes that 2 years ago when she discovered the family secret in Italy, the dark presence followed her home and is trying to prevent her from looking for more answers.

I read this book in the span of a day as I just kept turning the pages. This is a wonderful book that is fast paced and action packed. I think the author does a wonderful job at character development and having you understand the history of the characters and why they are making the choices that they have made. This is a book that goes back and forth between the past and the present so you can understand how the events of the past are affecting the events of the present. The author does a good job at making it clear where you are in the story. Overall, I thought this was a wonderful story of family, love, friendship and how people will go to the ends of the earth to support the ones they love. I’ve heard the author is working on a prequel to the series and I cannot wait to read that one as well!
