Thank you to Atlantic Books and Netgalley for the copy of Remember My Name by Sam Blake.

I've previously enjoyed Sam Blake's books, but found that Remember My Name felt a bit too much like hard work.
It was enjoyable, but not as great as previous books I've read. I didn't think that Cressida was a very likeable character despite her philandering husband with rather seedy connections and business dealings. I couldn't feel empathy for Cressida but would have loved to have had more of Brioni immersed in the story.

Even though this was not a huge favourite, I will be reading other Sam Blake books.

The story involves a women overhearing a conversation and this changes her life. Her husband is not who she thinks he is and involved with some bad people and is only interested in money. I enjoyed this book and the characters were well developed. Loved Brioni, who is helping the wife and her need to find out the truth.

A really good read. Getting involved with wrong people is always a good read. But this is even better with fabulous characters and a story line that’ll keep you guessing. Really enjoyed this and will be looking out for more.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for approving me for this book.

I felt the writing was done well in this book but there was just something missing for me and I couldn't get into it and enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.

When Cressida overhears her husband tech entrepreneur Lawrence, on the phone to another woman, she is convinced he is having an affair. Keen to prove his infidelity so that she has a speedy and financially rewarding divorce, Cressida employs Brioni, a cyber expert to gather evidence.

As Brioni delves deep into Lawrence & his business, is Cressida prepared for what Brioni finds? A lot more is revealed than an affair and it soon becomes evident that the women closest to Lawrence are in danger.
Remember My Name is a modern thriller told through the voices of Cressida, Brioni & Cressida’s daughter, Emily Jane, all who come across as very strong female protagonists. For what you first are led to believe is a domestic thriller about divorce- so many more topics emerge including but not limited to cybercrime, murder & grooming. The book is told through the voices of Cressida, Brioni & Cressida’s daughter Emily Jane, all of who came across as strong characters.

This book was a ‘different’ type of read for me, as I’ve never read a thriller which centres around cybercrime before. At first, I found it slow and at times almost a bit too complex. Whilst, for many I can see the complex plot was a bonus for me personally it did make it slightly harder to follow/made me want to give up, however the book did pick up paste and the twists and turns which unraveled were worth the perseverance.

Overall, three stars. Remember My Name is a modern cybercrime thriller, with strong characters, a complex plot, and killer twists. Thank you to NetGalley and Atlantic Books for the Arc.

I have a soft spot for Irish psychological thrillers. The atmosphere, threat, and gothic feel of its landscape has me like a moth to the flame. Remember my Name is no different. It quickly becomes clear that the reader is dealing with a giant sticky spider web of emotions and deceit. Just how much do we know the person we willingly give our hearts and souls to? Sam Blake weaves a web so delicate, so precise that the plots and subplots expertly fall into place in the exact moment they should. Trust in her craft, the clock Is ticking, and you can feel the wrought anxiety in the character’s reactions.

Remember my Name features characters that quite frankly boiled my piss. Laurence Howard is a hugely successful entrepreneur who has enabled his family to have an extremely privileged lifestyle. Think large country mansions, Italian villas, flash cars, and more money in the bank than God. His wife, Cressida, has recently set up private practice in speech and language therapy. She’s struggling in her marriage; Laurence spends more time at work than at home and she’s had her suspicions about extracurricular activities for some time now. However, when her husband doesn’t hang up after a phone call, her suspicions grow feet, and she realises she was right all along.

Overhearing the interaction through Cressida’s eyes and ears made me want to blow a fuse. Why do some men think they are entitled to behave in abhorrent ways and never even entertain the thought of consequences, all because money makes them feel powerful?

So now that she has proof of some kind, she plans on nailing him to the wall. She needs absolute concrete proof that he’s been unfaithful to her, and she enlists the help of her friend’s sister, Brioni O’Brien. She quickly gets to work and finds that things are far deeper and more sinister than the two women could have ever envisioned.

Remember my Name excels at giving details and still leaving you confused, the characters get more embroiled – attempted murders, murders, and sophisticated hacking brings multiple strands to life in glorious technicolour. The author brought all the elements of a psychological thriller that I enjoy and left scattered clues down an abandoned alleyway – I wanted to follow it but could I trust it?

Remember my Name sustains the suspense and Sam Blake expertly stokes the fires of mystery. The author wrings out everything from this story and I got so much more than I bargained for!

I really enjoyed a previous book I read by this author so I was super excited to get stuck into this one. It did not disappoint!

Remember my name follows Cressida after a phone call suggests that her husband is having an affair. She calls in the help of Brioni, a cyber expert, to help her get enough proof for the divorce courts. But Cressida’s husband has got himself involved in a very messy situation with dangerous people. Can Cressida keep herself and her daughter safe from them?

This was such a fast paced novel! I loved the short chapters and the constant movement! There didn’t feel like there was a single dull moment throughout this book! I did manage to guess some of the twists, which I always find a bit disappointing, but there was still one twist that I didn’t expect and kept me on my toes! The ending was left very open, which I normally find frustrating but I liked it in this novel. It’s left some scope for a follow up book which I would definitely pick up!

This novel covers the seedy side of the business world, with many characters who have questionable morals. I absolutely loved Emily-Jane (Cressida’s daughter). She had so much intelligence and cunning. I would love to see more from her and Brioni! I also loved the setting of these books. The Irish landscape felt rugged and added to the tension. It was great to return to the setting of the other book I had read by Blake. It almost felt like I was returning to an old holiday destination from my past! I cannot wait to see what Blake does next!

I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of fast-paced thrillers! I want to thank Netgalley, Atlantic Books, Corvus and Sam Blake for allowing me to read this book and give my personal thoughts.

Brioni uncovers more than she bargained for and finds that Cressida's husband Laurence is in bed with some dangerous people who are determined to ruin his business.
This book had me hooked from the beginning and was unravelling faster than I could turn the pages.

The Howards are a very wealthy family who owns a large and rapidly expanding multinational company. But their lives are not as perfect as they seem to the outside world. Cressida has just overheard part of an incriminating conversation which confirms her growing suspicions that Laurence is having an affair. Cressida needs as much evidence and information as possible, but can't risk her influential husband hearing about what she is doing, so seeks help from her friend's sister, skilled tech expert Brioni. But Laurence's dishonesty spreads further than his marriage, and with so much at stake, soon the business empire is also under threat.

I loved this book and look forward to the chance to read more of this author’s work. I highly recommend this book. Thriller fans will find themselves quickly engrossed in this twisty, complex tale that delivers twist after twist. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

3.5/5.

Remember My Name is a 3.5⭐️ rounded up to 4⭐️.
Cressida Howard is married to Laurence but when we meet her at the beginning of the book she is listening to a conversation between her husband and a woman called Nina and it’s highly probable he is or has had an affair with her. Cressida brings in Brioni who is a security expert to get some evidence that her husband definitely is playing away so she can divorce him and have more than enough to keep her and her daughter happy.
This book says it’s a psychological thriller but I don’t think it is, I think it’s more crime/family thriller or drama. The book moved very slowly and although all three women were strong and independent, which is what I like I feel the book could have moved quicker to the end result. I think with Lawrence being the owner of a firm he was always at work so that aspect was t really very exciting. I did enjoy the book and the final twist was great, I just wasn’t a fan of the slow drip feed style to this book. Don’t get me wrong a lot does happen it just could have been a little quicker.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Atlantic Books Corvus for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

A great twisty thriller of a read! I really enjoyed reading this book. It is full of so many twists, turns and surprises – which is everything I love when reading a book. This is one of them books where you are told a lot of what may seem at the time as unnecessary information at the start, but as you progress it all makes sense and you realise it was all needed.
The story is told through the voice of Cressida, Brioni and Cressida’s daughter Emily Jane and loved reading their perspectives.

I really enjoyed Sam's Cat Connelly thrillers but for some reason I was slow to start her stand alones which turned out to be really silly because I've just spent a glorious week reading them back to back. Such great stories with believable characters that you really get behind and want to survive and thrive. Remember My Name introduces Bryony O'Brien and I was over the moon to see that she features in a soon to be published prequel? I switched between kindle edition and the audiobook version which is beautifully narrated by Aoife Mac Mahon my favourite narrator. I'm going to miss Bryony entertaining me on my walks.

When Cressida Howard suspects her husband is having an affair, she hires a friend’s sister to do some digging for her. Brioni O’Brien isn’t normally a detective. She works in cyber security so she’s able to snoop digitally. Until she reaches a point when she has to watch in real life. Is Brioni risking her life just as Cressida’s comes under attack?

This is a book that starts off in one direction but ends up in an entirely different and unexpected place. I thought this would be about infidelity but it’s so much more than that. It moves into dodgy deals, hacking and murder in the corporate world. I can tell that Sam Blake has done her research here into cyber snooping and hacking because it’s written with authority and authenticity.

Alongside the madness of events in Dublin, we have Brioni’s life in her family home down by the beach. I love the scenes that are set here as Sam Blake describes the changing weather and atmosphere. It sounds lovely and makes me want to visit Ireland!

It takes a while for things to get going in this book but when they do, the tension ratchets up pretty quickly until everything comes to a head. A tense and intriguing read.

This book, at the beginning, was hard for me to get into. I was slightly confused who everyone was and what was happening. However, once I was fully invested who each woman was, the book became so hard to put down. The author takes us on a real rollercoaster in this book. The book is full of twists and turns. The women were all believable characters and in some ways, very easy to relate to. The plot is incredibly clever. I could definitely see this book being made into a tv drama series and a successful one at that!
I cannot recommend this book enough to fans of domestic thrillers!

A fast paced and riveting thriller that kept me turning pages.
It's the first book I read by this author and won't surely be the last because I loved the storytelling and the character development.
All the main characters are women and I loved this tought and clever characters.
The plot is full of twists and, even if it's a bit slow at the beginning, kept me hooked.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Cressida Howard overhears part of a conversation at the end of a call to her husband, Laurence where she is given the impression that he is having an affair with a person called Nina. She enlists the help of her friend’s sister, Brioni O’Brien, a security expert to get the proof she needs for a speedy divorce, but they soon find themselves in deep waters, much deeper than they expected...

Remember my Name is an engrossing read full of twists and turns. Set in Ireland, the tale is told mainly through the eyes of Cressida and Brioni with the occasional contribution from Cressida’s seventeen-year-old daughter, Emily-Jane. These are strong, believable characters with a good sense of reality, unlike Laurence who has limited likeability. A really rewarding reading experience is contained within the pages as the women plot their way to success in the divorce courts. With comfortable pacing, the tenseness picks up considerably towards the end when everything comes to a head. It’s not obvious who is responsible for events and certain situations but the need to find out makes this a hard one to put down and the conclusion is exciting.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Atlantic Books, Corvus via NetGalley and this review is my own unbiased opinion.

I’ll admit that I was drawn in by this very atmospheric cover and I was looking forward to a creepy, seaside thriller. Although I mostly enjoyed it, it actually centres on corporate dramas that weren’t really all that gripping.

Cressida Howard knows that her husband Laurence, a successful tech entrepreneur is cheating on her, so she hires the brilliant private investigator and cyber security whizz Brioni O’Brian to take a look at his life. But Brioni uncovers a lot more than an affair. Soon enough, it seems that someone has it in for Laurence and therefore Cressida and her teenage daughter Emily-Jane could be in terrible danger.

Like a lot of people who are cheated on, Cressida starts to question whether she is the cause of Laurence’s playing away. She wonders whether she could have done anything to keep her husband’s attention and prevented the pain that she is now experiencing. It’s a really heartbreaking thought process to have to read and I wanted to reach out to Cressida and reassure her that Laurence was just a greedy, selfish man.

Brioni reminded me of the fantastic Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds. She is a really warm, wholesome character who has the potential to be vastly underestimated. She isn’t your typical tech nerd at all and I was often blown away by her inventiveness and smarts. I would definitely love to meet her again but on a more compelling case than this one!

There are some pretty shady, unsavoury themes in this book including the grooming of underage girls. This is only one part of the corruption going on in the book and when it all came to a dramatic head, I couldn’t help but cringe. It felt very topical in the recent aftermath of Epstein and Maxwell and if you’re likely to be sensitive to issues like this, I’d avoid picking this book up.

Remember My Name is a different kind of thriller. I much prefer domestic mysteries from the perspective of the victims, which is what I thought this would be. However, this story focuses on the ins and outs of a corrupt corporation more than one man’s infidelities and the effect it has on his family. If you’re into thrillers that centre on dodgy business and big scale scandals, this is an exciting book for you!

Words cannot describe how good this book is - what a page turner. It was just brilliant. I was so addicted. I can't say anything about the plots or characters as will give something away. Just do yourself a favour and if you want pure escapism, it is a great read.

I was given an advance copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.

I really enjoyed this book by Sam Blake. Full of twists and thrills. Lies, deception, double crossing making a great crime read. Didn't really warm to the characters but enjoyed the plot.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an Arc in exchange for an honest opinion

Remember my name by Sam Blake.
If she'd turned off her phone, instead of listening in, perhaps no one would have died...
When Cressida Howard catches her entrepreneur husband playing away from home, she hires security expert Brioni O'Brien to get the evidence she needs for a speedy and financially rewarding divorce.
I did enjoy this book. Lots of action. I liked the cover. Great story and characters. 4*.
