Simple, short and a brilliant way to make children (and adults alike!) aware of, and grateful for, those everyday moments, through prayer.

Simple and short, these prayers move throughout the day with words for playing, for meeting a friend, for seeing a bird outside the window, for brushing one's teeth, and for resting (among other things). The illustrations are (mostly) lovely, but was bummed by the way diversity was poorly shown in two of the illustrations.

This books is wonderful way to get children involved with prayer and other aspects of christianity. It has great prose and wondeful illustrations thst any child would greatly enjoy and it would keep their interest. It is a cute book to get them involved.

A really cute prayer book with some lovely illustrations done in a simple manner. The prayers cover the every day and what you expect in terms of morning, evening and days at school, there are also some more unusual ones about bath times and seeing birds. It will help children to see the love of God in all they see in our world.

Really love the line and shaded art. Not sure kids need prayers for listening to music or doing chores, but maybe it will help make kids more mindful and/or religious?

Prayer is an important element of spiritual formation, but our prayers do not need to be long or complicated.

How often do you 🙏 pray? Do you have a fixed time in a day, when you pray?
What does "praying" mean to you?
For me, it means communicating with God.. talking to the creator..
Do you speak to him throughout the day or only at beginning or end of the day?
.
This short, cute book of prayers reminds us to communicate with God throughout the day & graduate it to a habit.
.
A wonderful gift to 🎁 give to small kids & imbibe in them, this powerful habit which will be an imp part of their support system, throughout life.

4 "gentle, comforting, educational" stars !!

Thank you to Netgalley, the author (s) and Intervarsity Press for an e-copy. This is to be released May 2022. I am providing my honest review.

This book is best suited for young Christian children (of any denomination) ages 4 to 7. In it are a variety of sweet, loving prayers to help children get (and feel) closer to God, cope with both positive and difficult emotions and understand that the Almighty Father is not way way way up in the sky but close by, a breath away and we can reach out all the time. (This is an excellent reminder for us adult Christians as well)

Indirectly this book also cultivates mindfulness, compassion, kindness, appreciation and gratitude.
These are all beautiful qualities that grow and foster emotional and spiritual resilience. With enough practice and encouragement these young children will be able to create and modify prayers for any occasion and circumstance.

Here is an example from the book:

For the End of a school day

God, the time for school is done.
Thank you for each thing I learned.
Thank you that you were with me in each struggle.
Let me hold on to every good, true, and beautiful thing you showed me.
Now it;s time to play and relax.
Yippee !

A lovely way to spend an early morning before Christmas for this reader.

* I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the sweetest little book. I love how it is written and the illustrations are so sweet! I wish I had it in print form to sit out for my kids to grab when needed.
