At under 3 hours, this was a super quick and light audiobook to listen to. It was perfectly enjoyable, I just don't think Novella's work for me, as I just want to hear more. The writing and characters were both really great, but the shortness of the book did mean there was very little conflict and the ending was quite cheesy/predictable for me. Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK Audio for this advanced copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK Audio, Avon for an advance reader copy of this book.

I thought the story was really cute, I've really enjoyed Laura Jane Williams' books in the past so I knew I had to give this short novella a try too. It was an enjoyable read, but I didn't feel particularly attached to either of the main characters and sort of had this feeling that I couldn't care less whether they ended up together in the end. I thought it was an interesting concept, and I love the idea of authors narrating their own audiobooks but I just thought it was a bit off putting that Laura was doing the voice of both the female and male main characters because they both sounded the same and it was slightly confusing, very hard to distinguish between the two.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any future releases by Laura Jane Williams but I'm not sure I'd be wanting to pick up the audiobooks if they were narrated by the author herself unfortunately.

This book is a fun short story. Told from two points of view, which isn't completely predictable, I found it pretty uplifting. I liked that the Author narrated the book herself, which was a nice touch. However, with the audio being pretty short (2 hours audio/circa 100 pages as a book) I would question the price point for the audio (£6.99 - or more expensive as an Audible credit) - I'm not sure it would be value for money.

Many thanks to NetGallery and HarperCollins UK Audio for this snappy read - it is greatly appreciated.

This is not my usual kind of book but I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the pace of the story and both of the main characters. A cute quick read!

This story was great!
Funny, easily relatable characters, and just so romantic!
What's not to like... well, the length, I guess - It is too darn short!

Izzy and Birchy arrive in Italy separately to attend a wedding. They have never met before. They both have the wrong suitcase - each other’s.

Narrated from both Izzy and Birchy’s perspective, we see a story of miscommunication, second guessing and maybe some romance. Kept me listening and wanting to know what would happen next. The best thing I’ve read/listened to this year! Cannot wait to read more from this author.

Written and narrated by Laura Jane Williams herself, this audiobook novella is perfect. Williams can accentuate the words as she did in her head when writing the story.

Thank you to Netgalley for giving me a copy of this audiobook on exchange for an honest review.

I’ve never read Laura Jane Williams before, but the plot of this novella sounded pretty cute. I thought this could be a great first book to read by her, and I think it was.

The Wrong Suitcase follows Izzy, who wants to let her hair down and really enjoy her university friend’s wedding, and Sam, who was dumped the morning he was due to travel to the very same event. At the hotel, their luggage gets mixed up, and they spend the afternoon trying to hunt the other down.

With this being a novella, there’s obviously not that much content. The book is set during a single day, which can make it feel a little too insta-lovey, but it was pretty light and fun. I enjoyed both Izzy and Sam’s perspectives, though Sam’s could get a little grumpy. I totally get why. He has a serious reason to be miserable. But that kind of makes the very sudden romance seems a little too ridiculous.

What I will say about this book is that it’s fun. There was a random sexy scene that I feel was unnecessary with the length of the book. But it highlighted the sizzling chemistry between the two main characters. I did really appreciate their friends and family. The differing relationships were cute, and I did tear up a little at the wedding speech. The married couple seemed very in love, and I adored that.

As an audiobook, this was so very easy to listen to. I don’t usually like audiobooks with multiple protagonists and only one narrator. I’m especially not a fan of authors reading their own books. However, Williams was an enjoyable narrator. She did give both characters chapters their own individual voices, and the tone was pretty perfect. In places, it totally added to the humour and I enjoyed it.

I listened to this whilst doing housework, and it was fun to get through. It kept me distracted and made me smile. Was it perfect? Definitely no. But it has made me want to check out Williams other books.

For those looking for a quick romance novella, I highly recommend this in audio or e-book. You’ll have a lot of fun.

This was such a lovely novella, I listened to it in one day!

It is really short and although the timing of the ending is perfect you are left wanting more!

I loved the fact that the author narrated it herself, she has a lovely voice and made for great listening.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for letting me review this audiobook.

This was a lovely little short novella, and a perfect hit of contemporary romance fiction. Every girls nightmare: a lost suitcase before a best friends wedding and the guy who has your suitcase just happens to be a single heartthrob … a great set up to a really entertaining story.

I also love that the author narrated the audiobook and it was great to listen too. Perfectly enjoyable pass of a few hours and one that’s bound to entertain.

This was such a fun audiobook, loved it from beginning to end. When there is a mix up between suitcases, the story hops from Sam to Izzy in their search for their missing bag before the wedding of their friends. Unbeknownst to the other the story follows them as they try ( and fail) to exchange bags before the big event. This was fast paced, funny and totally plausible, plus the setting of a destination wedding in Italy made this such a dreamy listen on a cold January fay.
The narrator (also the author) had such great timing, the comic bits landing just write and the characters brought to life.
Will be recommending and keeping an eye out for the next book from the author.

When you lose your luggage, the last thing you expect to find is love…

RIGHT PLACE

As she touches down in Italy, Izzy couldn’t be more excited. She’s needed a reason to let her hair down, and she knows that the wedding of the year in a lavish Tuscan castle will be just the ticket…

RIGHT TIME

On the morning of his best friend’s wedding, everything is going wrong for Sam. And when he finally reaches the hotel and unzips his luggage, his day goes from bad to worse…

WRONG SUITCASE

Izzy has a case full of men’s shirts and chinos. Sam has a case full of make-up palettes and bikinis. Could a fateful meeting to switch their bags back be the start of something special? Because in losing their luggage, they’re about to find each other…

A hilarious, short but very sweet story about how sometimes being in the wrong place at the right time can work out for the best. I am a huge Laura Jane Williams fan and this book didn't disappoint. Funny from start to finish.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for the audiobook.

This gorgeous novella may be a shorter book but it is large on the great story it delivers. I listened to this on audiobook which is narrated by the author herself and she gives a great performance. First of all we meet Izzy who is on her way to a wedding in Italy and then there is Sam who is going to be at his best friends wedding. They arrive at their destinations and open their suitcases to find they have the wrong suitcases!! I loved this story - it was full of humour and wit, romance and warmth and I simply did not want this audiobook to end! I also adored the front cover of this book too! An easy five stars from me! Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for my gifted copy.

This is a witty and funny short story. At just over two hours long this audiobook is the perfect quick getaway. A delightful, uplifting and heart-warming novella that will leave you rooting for both Izzy and Sam. The fact that Laura narrated the audiobook just added to the perfection.

This book follows Izzie and Birchie who both lose their suitcases during a wedding in Italy. It follows them both as they track down their suitcases and also eachother.

I loved this!! It was so sweet and cute. I love the concept of the book, as I've read a few like this but this one was still somehow really unique.

My only reason for rating it low, is I wish it wasn't a novella and was a full novel, as I'd love to know all the connections between the characters before the wedding and the dynamics.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and look forward to Laura Jane Williams' next novel in June 2022.

Such a beautiful novella! Funny, addictive and action packed. I love the authors writing style and it works great as an audiobook. Definitely a must read. Loved it.

When two wedding guests, Izzy and Sam, accidentally swap suitcases it's harder to swap them back than it should be. But this accidental, frustrating situation sets hearts flutter and romance brewing.

This is told through the POV of Izzy and Sam, switching between the two in each chapter; for me, this kept the reader engaged and was a great way to tell this novella.

I loved the two main characters, my favourite was Sam. I would have been so annoyed if this had happened to me and when he flies off the handle I thought it was hilarious.

The plot was quick, but it had to be because it was a novella, however, I was pleased there was no shyness or 'hanging about' to the characters and they got straight to the point.

I did listen to this on an audiobook and I have to say I sometimes get irritated with the narrator's voice, but this really wasn't the case with Williams, not only is she a great writer but she is a great narrator also!

The story
Izzy is a preschool teacher living in London. Her friends are getting married in Tuscany and she has worked extra jobs and saved up for months to be able to come to their wedding. Her boyfriend is now an ex and she is coming alone. Sam is also friends with the bridal couple. He is a paediatric surgeon, also living in London. His day doesn’t start out well, his date for the wedding has cancelled on him. When she arrives at the hotel, Izzy realises what she thought was her suitcase, a blue carry on, and even has the same passcode, is filled with menswear and Aesop mens products. Sam’s identical suitcase is filled with womenswear! It’s a challenge to find who their suitcase belongs to, and although Izzy manages to get hers back, Sam ends up having to do his speech in a borrowed shirt and his shorts. What happens when the two of them realise who the identical suitcase belongs to?

My thoughts
I listened to the novella-length audio that is narrated by the author. This is a heartwarming story of two singles whose friends have told them about each other but who have never met before. I loved the dual POV and the thoughts that each had about wanting more from life and appreciating the value of true love. Loved it!

This is a delightful, romantic, uplifting and heartwarming novella, which really cheered me up while I was doing my housework.

I loved the narrator, who had a lovely voice, and of course who was perfect for the job, since she is also the author.

Izzy and Sam meet when they are at their friend's wedding in Italy, and, after they sort out a suitcase mix-up, they are soon both hot under the collar, shall we say!

This is a fantastic short story, which left me feeling happy and warm inside. I loved it and I am sure you will too! It is the perfect read when you are looking for something short and sweet to open your heart and make you feel all gooey inside!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
