I really enjoyed the unique elements of this book, although the dialogue writing sometimes felt clunky. The unique storyline pulled through and kept my interest. This was a piece of fiction that made me wonder, what if, and that made it very relatable. I would have liked the story to continue a bit after the reveal, as the ending seemed a little rushed and without the level of detail previously offered in the book. Overall, a good, thought provoking read. #Revelation #NetGalley #Jenn Reviews

This book has a really great concept, but the way it was written, I just didn't connect with it at all. I couldn't really invest in the characters. There were a lot of stereotypes and cliches, few of which were used well. There is a lot of over-explanation, which hurts the pacing and the overall story, unfortunately. At one point, a character is described as singing the song "Imagine", and...it just made me cringe. And worst of all, despite being told about how the machine works, and how great and moving the experience of it is...the story never actually shows us what happens until the very end, and even then, there is little detail. It's really frustrating.

It's a shame, because I wanted to like this book more than I did.
