22 Seconds (Women’s murder club book 22) by James Patterson is a 4 ⭐️ read.
Now I love almost everything written by James Patterson and this book is no different. His characters are always well thought out and the bad guys downright evil, the storyline flowed brilliantly and kept my attention right until the last page. I will always recommend James Patterson books.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book through Netgalley.

Another in the series of the Woman's Murder Club.
A new gun law comes into force in California. Lyndsey and Joe get a tip on a drug and gun run from Mexico and with lots of bad cops they have a difficult job to control it all.
An action packed book with lots going on, love the short chapters and the beginning but it got a bit heavy for me with the gun cartel and fighting.
Of course all the girls get together for there usual chatter as always.
If you like action this is the one for you.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is the latest book in the Women's Murder Club series. I have followed and read each of the books in turn. The plotting is fast-paced and there are plenty of thrills along the way. However, the story follows a predictable format and I feel that the personality of lead protagonist - Lyndsay Boxer - is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate from Patterson's other hero, Alex Cross with the main difference being that Cross is an advisor to the FBI whilst it is Lyndsay's husband who fills this role.
This plot was topical, centering on the controversial US gun lobby, and this added to its appeal. Nevertheless I don't think the most recent stories have the same impact as the earlier books in the series.

James Patterson's books are, for me, a bit like the Curate's Egg, good in parts. Some I enjoy and some nowhere near as much and 22 Seconds falls into that second camp.

22 Seconds had its high points and its low points and the one thing that the book convinced me is this will be the last of his books that I read.

22 seconds is another brilliant addition to this series with Lindsay and her colleagues having to deal with new gun laws and bad cops along with a Mexican drug cartel. It’s a tough time for the Woman’s Murder Club, as Claire has to deal with a terrible autopsy of a young girl and Cindy has been tasked with writing about a serial killer. One of the most difficult times the club has ever gone through but no one is more resilient than these ladies and they will fight for what they believe in.
James Patterson and Maxine Paetro continue to set the bar with their books in this genre of crime. The story is superbly written, action packed, highly emotional and incredibly addictive. Another outstanding and brilliant addition to this great series.
Fantastic as usual.

Another fast paced and compelling read from James Patterson.
The women’s murder club returns with all our favourite members .Although this story mainly features Lindsay Boxer and her partner Joe.
Gun smuggling and suicide ( or is it? ) are just part of the threads in this book.
Another addictive read!

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK.

I have adored Lindsay Boxer from the very beginning and it feels like I know her as much as one of my friends.
Which is the best way to love a character.

Lindsay and Joe get to work together with this next installment of The Women's Murder Club and it never disappoints.
Lindsay's life has been on the line several times before but this time its different.
With the new gun law in California the illegal running of firearms is strife and with the gun smuggling also comes with the smuggling of drugs.
What Lindsay, Joe and the team will certainly end in disaster but who will come out alive?

The latest instalment in the "Women's Murder Club" does not disappoint!

Lindsay Boxer and her husband Joe, a retired FBI agent collaborate to solve a series of gangland killings.

The investigation brings the dangers right to their front door with even their daughter Julie under threat

A great novel in Patterson's fast paced style

Thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Random House for letting me read it!

Having read plenty of James Patterson books in the past, I had, surprisingly, not ventured into the women's murder club series before. Intriguing as I found the title of this book, written with Maxine Peatro, I wondered what the 22 seconds related to (I'm not giving it away here you'll have to read the book for that) not knowing it was the 22nd in the series.
Even though I didn't know the characters from the previous 21 books, this didn't make me feel uneasy as the writers’ character progression was easy to follow and I quickly felt as though I understood Lindsay Boxer, the police officer.
As with all Patterson books I have read and this appeals to me, the chapters are short, snappy and move the story along quickly. Centred around the movement of a considerable number of illegal weapons, it does bring to mind the absolute obsession with guns in the country of the setting of this book.
Attention is ramped up considerably as the book moves through its pages and if this is the style of writing that you enjoy, you will probably not be disappointed.
While I didn't pay for a copy of this book, I will continue to purchase and read James Patterson novels because you know what you are going to get, but you will always be misled by the twists and turns that bring each story to a conclusion. You know, with the title of this book, that someone is eventually going to have to make a decision involving a time limit of 22 seconds; enjoy the ride.
At least I have 21 books to read in this series!

Great plot, so many twists and turns and threats. The whole story is fast paced and the characters are all so real and draw you in to the story. Adrenaline rush from start to finish.

I have read or listened to all the other Women Murder Club books. In this, the latest of the series, Linsey Boxer and her friends investigate what appears to be a suicide.
Written with the usual pace and grittiness, this book is another excellent addition to the series. A superb page turner and well worth the read.

I have to admit that I got very fed up with James Patterson's books due to the amount of white space in them due to the very short chapters. This is the only series I've kept up with and still enjoy.
The main thread of this story is about a new gun law banning automatic and semi automatics for the general population. Consequently the gun lobby are up in arms (sorry!) and there is a lot of bad feeling around. Add to this the rumours of a huge consignment of guns and drugs coming in from Mexico.
Lindsey's team are investigating the murders of ex-cops connected with Ted Swanson, a corrupt cop who is currently incarcerated in San Quentin. When he is found dead, allegedly a suicide, the investigation hots up and Lindsey and Joe start receiving threats. When Cindy is punched in the face, and given a message for Lindsey the threat level is heightened.
I found the story jumped about a little bit, but I was able to follow it. As with all this series, it's wrapped and tied with a bow at the end.

If you've read the previous books in this series you will love returning to find out whats been happening with the Women's Murder Club.

You would think that James Patterson and Maxine Paetro would be running out of ideas for Lindsay and the gang - but once again they've knocked it out of the park with a heart pounding, adrenaline fuelled storyline that makes you go - I'll just read one more chapter!

My only issue with this book was the sudden ending to the story - it seemed to wrap up a bit too quickly for me and I would have loved to have had a bit more at the end.

Overall another fantastic book from this best selling duo, and I can't wait to see what's in store for the Women's Murder Club next!

I am an avid fan of James Patterson both as a solo author and the books he co-authors.  This is book 22 in The Women’s Murder Club series co-authored with Maxine Paetro and it is, in my opinion the best of his series of books and I have read them all.  The characters are all well rounded and whilst called the Women’s murder club it also has strong male repeating characters which makes this series addictive.

In this book Lyndsey and fellow officers are dealing with changes in the automatic weapons law making them unlawful and requiring all guns to be handed in.  They then discover that there is a drugs and guns cartel operating out of Mexico.  As with most of the books in this series there is a “bad cop”, a “bad ex-cop” and other unsavoury characters.

Lyndsey’s friend, Medical examiner Claire has been called to assist in a harrowing autopsy of a six year old girl and her Journalist Cindy is struggling having been tasked by a serial killer from an earlier book with writing a gruesome biography and is struggling with writing about the atrocities carried out by the serial killer.

This is another fast paced, page turning book in this unmissable series which I highly recommend and whilst this can be read in isolation I would highly recommend that the readers read all of the books in the series.

Yet another in the series 'The Women's Murder Club' and follows Lindsay Boxer and a few other females in familiar James Patterson/Maxine Paetro territory. Guns galore and drug running a plenty with violent scenes at the end.

Whilst it was very easy to read and the characters are already well known, the book lacks the pace of previous ones in the series and maybe the time has come to look at other options?

Thanks to Net Galley and Random House UK Cornerstone for the chance to read and review.

Well number 22 in the series does not let up on the action.

I was hooked from the start and read it in 2 sittings as I didn't want to put it down.

I love this series and look forward to 23.

22 SECONDS

I requested #22seconds by #JamesPatterson and #MaxinePaetro on #netgalley in exchange for my honest review, and was delighted when my request was approved.

This would be my first time reading a James Patterson collaboration.

America is known for its gun culture and this novel by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro brings this to light looking at the changing of gun laws in different states.

A slow start introducing the different characters and with the necessary explanation into the change in gun laws.

Personally I didn’t find that it picked up any trajectory until approximately halfway through.
For me this novel was somewhat lacklustre, especially the ending.

I can’t say as I particularly liked Maxine Paetros’ writing style. But I didn’t let this deter me from continuing with the novel.

With this been a James Patterson novel I was expecting a fast paced unputdownable read.unfortunately I didn’t experience either of these things.

I’m not saying “22 seconds” wasn’t a good book but I found it wasn’t for me.
Perhaps because I’m English and not American and so have little understanding of the gun culture ?

Well I never expected to rate a JP novel lower than a four however I was somewhat disappointed with 22 Seconds.

So unfortunately only two and a half stars from me; rounded up to three for #NetGalley and #GoodReads. I was happy to award Three stars in until what I personally felt to be a very disappointing ending.

I don’t know how but this is the first time I have read a Women’s Murder Club book.
I did lose some of the back story by coming so late to the series but it was a story in itself so it didn’t really matter.
The pace starts off with a bang and never stops. The books are centred on four women Lyndsey Boxer with the San Francisco Police, Cindy Thomas, Senior Crime Writer with the San Francisco Chronicle, Dr Claire Washbourn, Senior Medical Examiner and Yuki Castellano an ADA with the District Attorney’s Office.
Together these four woman pool resources and information to solve some of the toughest cases and support each other every step of the way.
It’s a good way to pass an afternoon.
