I LOVED this book. Great premise, extremely likeable characters (I loved Franny and Hayes (aka Hot Suit). I was completely hooked from the start. A new favourite romance and definitely one I’ll be recommending. Thanks so much for the ARC!

I absolutely adored this book and flew through it! It was definitely a book you are sad to have finished and has you thinking about it after! Will definitely be re-reading this one,

This was the first I've read from Spencer and I will definitely be buying her books in the future!

Franny Doyle is already having a bad day before her dress catches in the subway door: she’s just been made redundant. But now her dress is ripped but even worse – the whole subway can see her bum and her knickers. luckily fellow passenger Hayes lends her his jacket to save her blushes. That would be the end of it – except someone has posted what happened to their Insta stories and now they’re viral sensations – #SubwayQTs. Their new found fame (notoriety?!) means they end up seeing each other again, and again, and again: but is there more there than just a hashtag? This has a buttoned up and awkward hero who comes off as aloof and a creative heroine with a tight knit group of friends. If I hadn’t had to do actual things, I could probably have read this in one giant sitting – it’s light and fluffy and endearing.

A great chick lit read! The story between Franky and Hayes was an enjoyable one to read and had a real feel good vibe about it. Franny was a likeable main character and you’re hoping it works out for her, in her career and her love life. I’d recommend this book!

Franny is having the worst day ever, she’s been fired from her job, then when she jumps onto the subway, her dress gets caught in the door and rips it right up the back. People all try to help her but ultimately it’s ‘Hot Suit’ guy (aka Hayes) who gives her his jacket to cover herself up. What Franny is not prepared for is that somebody has filmed the whole debacle which goes viral as ‘subway QTs’. For a small moment it seems like fate, but in reality Franny and Hayes are total opposites and not suited for each other at all. Or are they?

This book was a super easy read and who doesn’t love a practically enemies to lovers trope?? I was expecting an Italian trip to happen at about 60% and was a little disappointed it didn’t but hey ho! You can’t have it all.

I definitely recommend this as a easy summer romance! Or even a cosy autumn read to be fair!

Unfortunately, this wasn’t my favourite. To me, the plot was lacking and the two main characters spent a majority of the book asking themselves, “well what if we dated?”, without actually voicing it to each other. I found it frustrating that it went on so long. I really wanted to enjoy it because it takes place in NYC and includes a lot about the city and various neighbourhoods, but the writing just wasn’t there for me.

I loved this book. Social media and mobile phones are everywhere these days, there's no escaping them and especially no chance of that when you live in a city like New York. To their dismay, Franny and Hayes discover this when they bump into each other on the subway and the city seems determined to not let them get away with just one meeting. It's a brilliant idea and makes perfect sense when you consider how much people post on social media all the time.

I liked Franny and Hayes as characters. I didn't agree with everything they did but that only made them more realistic and normal. The meeting on the subway leads to more meetings, new starts and a variety of adventures for them both and it was a joy to watch them negotiate all the changes in their lives.

I would definitely say this is more of a spring/summer book than autumn/winter. It felt light and warm and bright and between that and the bright yellow cover it feels like a book that should be read on a sunny day. It's a lovely read if you want something to whisk you away and leave you feeling uplifted.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
The start of this book is so funny as it describes the worst day ever for Franny (or anyone, actually!) and the sharing of this by others over social media compounds her embarrassment. Fortunately Hayes comes quietly to her rescue, setting the scene for romance ... except it doesn't happen quite like that! As in real life other things intervene right up until the last minute so it's never quite certain if they'll get together or not. In the meantime she has the support of her wonderful, funny friends and Hayes has a couple of important people in his life so there are plenty of sub-stories in this excellent romcom, including those linked to family.
The story alternates between Hayes' and Franny's POV, and is interesting and funny with realistic characters, an excellent introduction to this author for me.

IN A NEW YORK MINUTE by Kate Spencer- I was so, so looking forward to this and I enjoyed it, I did but it wasn’t really what I thought it was going to be. I love the story and I enjoyed getting to know both the characters and I liked them both but I think I just felt the pacing was a bit off and it felt really slow in places. It was a nice enjoyable read but I felt the writing didn’t do the story justice if that makes sense? But still a nice easy, slow paced read.

A great feel good romance story set in one of my favourite cities.
A chance meeting on a subway leads to a new romance!
My only slight criticism was the ending felt a bit rushed.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I would firstly just like to say a big thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for very kindly forwarding me an arc copy of this book, for my Kindle, in return for my honest review.

I absolutely love a book that is set in New York, it is one of my favourite book settings, so when I saw this book on Netgalley, I jumped at the chance to request and read it!! And I was definitely not disappointed…
From the very beginning I was snorting with laughter and it didn’t stop there!
This book is a perfect rom-com, full of very funny moments, great side characters, a slow burn romance and all set in the amazing New York!

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this. It’s a rom-com that flows and is easy to read. I got Nora Ephron vibes which is love. Not only is there romance but there is also good friendships which is nice as sometimes main characters seem secluded. I would definitely recommend this and really want to visit New York.

I loved the cover of this book and the synopsis had me keen to get started.

The book focuses on Franny who meets Hayes on the train after losing her job. Her dress is caught and she faces utter humiliation; however, Hayes comes to her assistance and gives her his Gucci jacket to cover her modesty. Someone in the train catches this moment and sends it viral.

I loved the authors writing style - but the budding romance felt quite drawn out.

Hayes was a lovely character and I enjoyed reading his parts. Franny started as a fantastic character, but seemed to become increasingly annoying as the book progressed.

After a wonderful lust-filled weekend together, Franny needs to return to her home. Hayes changes his plans and takes her without a thought. Franny repays this by ending things with him. A couple of months later, after ignoring his messages and making no contact with him, she decides that she is in love with Hayes. This was a frustrating ending to a lovely story.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

A classic romcom, fun, light and easy to read.

Unfortunately the pacing slipped away a little too much for me, it’s a verrrrry slow burn. But the characters were well written and overall, still an enjoyable read.

Thank you to the Author, Publisher, and NetGalley for the eARC.

Honestly, the book felt a little underwhelming.

I understand what the premise was, and requested this because I felt it had so much potential and promise, but i think personally, the book did not deliver on these promises the way I wanted it to.

The book is a romance, but i can't really say it lived up to the GrumpyxSunshine trope, largely because despite being told time and time again that Hayes is grumpy, i don't really see it in his character. He seems to be kind and generous to everyone, and well liked in general. The crux of this romance felt like a scrappy, but resourceful brunette, fell for the supposedly grumpy, yet very well liked male lead.

I really wish this had delivered a bit more on the romance, and made it felt a bit more organic. the third act conflict confused me, because I really didn't understand why it was necessary, or even happening. A lot of the plot was explained heavily. A bit too heavy handedly, in my opinion. The characters and plot in itself felt a bit contradictory, which confused me even more when I was reading the book. Things don't seem to be as cohesive and smooth as I would have liked them to be.

Overall, it isn't a bad book, and has elements lots of readers will want to explore - But I feel there are other books that have done it better, and more cohesively.
It depends on each individual reader though, there are definitely aspects many readers might enjoy.

Personally, I felt the execution and characters were a bit underwhelming for my reading experience, but I look forward to seeing how the authors' next story pans out.

I loved this story so much. A meetcute on the subway when Franny is at her lowest and Hayes is delightfully awkward and yet still a gentleman. It’s lovely to see their friendship slowly develop as they bump into each other and realise how compatible they are despite their assumptions that they are too dissimilar for it to ever work.
I loved all the characters, even Serena (so realistic!) and Franny’s girlfriends are so supportive and a real dream team of friendship. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Quick & easy read.

Cute & fun story but maybe a little bit too cheesy with all the cliches. Overall I enjoyed it though!
