Such a sweet book. Makes me wish I had a son so I could dedicate it to him. Loved everything about this especially the illustrations. As always I'm here for a black character and I was happy it was a little boy. Looking forward to having this in my classroom one day

Just like the title, this is a sweet book. It gives a different view of boyhood and that a boy doesn’t have to be snakes and snails and puppy dog tails. Boys can be sweet like sugar and steady and calm and all those things that don’t begin in toxic masculinity.

This is a sweet rhyming book for children, which has beautiful illustrations. My daughter and I really enjoyed reading this book and we loved it. It is suitable for children aged 3-8, but I am sure babies and toddlers would love it too, as it is bright and colourful. It has a lovely positive message which will open your heart. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

I liked this but it didn't holds my son's interest completely. Maybe because the boy is implausible in how good he is. Sweet but wouldn't read often

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I'm always happy to see picture books with black kids, as it is excellent for black kids to see. The repetition is a plus, but the book doesn't have a lot of meat to it.

This book tells the story of a well-behaved kid and how he responds to various circumstances. I adored the pictures in this book because they came to life on each page. The character designs were meaningfully diverse and inclusive, and the characters were well-drawn. The narrative did a good job of conveying its message. It doesn't come across as preachy; rather, it sounds like the sentiments of a devoted mother who adores her Sweet Boy. This work focuses on numerous ways kids can be polite and respond well to situations; it could be a helpful teaching resource for younger kids.

Perfect little book to read with my son. Such vibrant colours and easy to read story makes it a great story time together.
I love the story as well, it’ll be one to read as he grows with a lovely message.
Thank You NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me an early copy to review.

Soooo cute! The illustrations are perfect. My toddler loves cats, everyone knows animals are a plus in children's books!

I disagree with a lot of the morals, however, and find them problematic. I don't think I will read this one to my child because I would have to spend a lot of time correcting some of the messages as I read. I think we should teach kids (especially boys?) That it's okay to cry. The focus shouldn't be "not crying for long". As for girls, teaching them to be perfect and agreeable is its own danger. Most, if not all, women have experienced this type of pressure. Telling kids they should smile all the time and give hugs and always do what they are told? I dunno that's a yikes for me. I'm all about body autonomy and feel like most parents these days are as well. This book also displays food being a reward for good behavior. The lines about being caring, polite, silly, gentle were the ones I enjoyed the most.

There was a huge emphasis on family throughout the book that I LOVED. The illustrations did a great job and you really felt like it was a bonded family. I would definitely pick of this book if the author's parenting style was more matched to mine, but as it stands it's a pass for me.

I LOOOOOOOOVE the illustrations in this. They’re amazing! So bright and colorful and so full of love and care. That really adds to a picture book!

And the story is really sweet! There were a couple sentiments that were less than ideal to teach kids, but overall, they were really important SEL lessons!

I really loved it.

An adorable little boy who's sweet and well-mannered and has all the love of his mother. Listen to your mother, share, and be kind to others!

A cute story a little boy with great manners as told by his mother. This book would be the perfect shower gift for a boy-mom-to-be! The pictures are bright, colorful, and charming. The story features a black family but is inclusive of other races as well as differences (I was excited to spot a little girl with Vitiligo!)

I wish there was something in there about making mistakes-because no one is as perfect as the child in this book…but overall it was a cute read.

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Great picture book with awesome illustrations about how sweet a mom thinks her son is. Great for bedtime stories.

This was a cute book was absolutely stunning illustrations! This book is about a very well behaved little boyz and all of the ways his mother/family love him because of it. It's a sweet story, However I would have liked to have seen more on what happens when he ISN'T well-behaved. "For his good behavior I give him treats" ok I'm sure I'm reading too much into this, but I wanted the little boy to know even when he's naughty he is still loved.

Thank you BooksGoSpcial a digital copy of this book!

This children’s book is about a well-behaved child and how he reacts to certain situations. Short rhyming stanzas were used throughout the work, which will make it fun to read aloud to young children.

I absolutely loved the art style: the illustrations in this work came to life on each page. The characters were drawn well and there was meaningful diversity/inclusivity with the character design. All of the illustrations were vibrant with excellent choices in color, making this a gorgeous book to look at. These are some of my favorite illustrations for a child’s book that I’ve run across in some time.

The message of the story was well done. It’s told from the POV of a mother who his describing her young son and his attitudes and reactions. It doesn’t come across as preachy, but instead as the words of a doting mother who loves her Sweet Boy. This work focuses on several ways children can have good manners and react positively to situations; this could be a useful teaching tool for younger children.

I highly recommend this work to anyone with young children in their life (probably ages three and up). This would be a perfect work to read in a group setting such as preschool or daycare.

I received a complimentary copy of this work through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A sweet "boy" book - very good for new parents of a son or a gift for maybe a graduation. It's sweet. I am a bit over "gendered" books in general, because it's a hard line to say something can only apply to boys in any way, but the art is bright and very cute and this came across sincere.

This is a sweet book about a sweet little boy. Children reading will likely relate to a lot of the things the boy does in the book. My 4-year-olds enjoyed this book and the bright illustrations. Thank you to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My 3 year old absolutely loved this story. I also loved this sweet and simple story. The little boy in this book is kind and caring, just as I am trying to teach my child to be. He loved that the little boy was silly and gives hugs, and also loved that the little boy has a little sister just like he does. I loved the diversity of the children and characters in this book. The illustrations are bright and engaging.

The illustrations are great, but there is no insight into the mind of the sweet little boy and the source of all his sweetness. The speaker who is the mother is focused on constantly praising him, but as I mentioned before it does not provide insight into the little boy's mind. Furthermore, there is no conflict that the boy has to overcome; he just cries once and his mother hugs him and he instantly feels better; it is realistic, but there are no struggles that the boy has to overcome, so the story for kindness and good behavior is not very motivational.

Princess Fuzzypants here: This is a charming little book that would be perfect for the young reader or to be read to a future reader. It is told by the mother about her son who is very well behaved. He is well mannered and kind and treats others with respect. He is a very good example for children to emulate.

The pictures that accompany the story are also very sweet. But, being a kitty myself, I must admit that my favourites were of the family cat. He was very cute. As was the entire book. Five purrs and two paws up.
