Aside from beautiful illustrations, the many positive messages that can be learned, and the ryhming of words that I can increase children's creativity and imagination, I enjoyed this book. I wish this book was longer.

A short rhyming book with lovely illustrations to read to your child. It is full of affirmation to lift a child up. You can easily substitute son for daughter (or even cat if you so wish!😜)
A nice bedtime read

My Sweet Boy was a cute picture book with vibrant colors and illustrations. I particularly liked that one of the kids depicted in the book has vitiligo. The story is easy to read and teaches kids good behaviors without feeling forced.

While I absolutely adored the illustrations, the phrasing and rhymes were trite and predictable. I would have loved to have seen a greater variety of word choices.

I love the illustrations in this book and I like the concept, I think, if it's not forced.

Teaching a child all these desired attributes is great but it's important to teach that it's is also okay not to smile today, to not want hugs, to not share his favourite toy because today the child is not feeling it, he wants to be alone. We all have bad days and as adults we are far from perfect so I don't like the idea that we are expecting perfection from our children.

My Sweet Boy is an excellent socio-emotional resource for children; The illustrations are inclusive, bright and colourful. I love that the author uses simple rhyming sentences as it makes reading by and to children easier and more enjoyable, especially for infants and toddlers.

I appreciate the evident love and pride the mother feels. As an educator, though, I would have liked to see examples of how she still loves him when he makes mistakes.

A love letter to any child who is read this book, My Sweet Boy lists the many ways a child can act that are endearing to their parents. This was a sweet book, but the illustrations are what got me! They're so adorable and the other characters pictured are diverse.

This is a book I could see less in the homes of caregivers than those of parents.

A sweet book to read with your little one, which encourages good behaviour and positive personality traits such as being caring.<

The story is a rhyming one, which is always nice to read. The pictures are bright and colourful. A lovely story to share with your children at bedtime or any time!

It's a cute little book (15 pages). It's a poetic story, rhymes in fact, which tells about good behaviour ― niceness, kindness and friendliness. The illustration is so bright and beautiful!

Thank you.

This book was so adorably cute and the illustrations were one of the best I have seen in a picture book in a long time, the colors were bright and eye-catching and just had this sense of vibrancy and happiness to it. The book was based on I assume the author's son who I would put between 4-6 years old as he could have been at Kindy or just starting school. My Sweet Boy goes into the life of the character's little boy and all the amazing and sweet ways he acts from being kind to others, sharing and caring, and also giving his mum kisses and snugs. My Sweet Boy is a fun rhyming picture book and a great way to teach children between the ages of 3-6 years old how to use their manners and how to act in different situations from being at kindy/school, outside playing with friends, the behavior when around animals to being at home. This book touches on several elements of good manners and is presented in a very attractive way. The other thing I loved about this book is the diversity of characters as for many years we have needed books based on other races for picture books and we now have these amazing releases like My Sweet Boy by Krystaelynne Sanders Diggs and illustrated by Thais Liboro. This book would make the perfect resource for a daycare or primary visit when teaching Manners and appropriate/ good behaviors.

I LOVE books with rhymes!! They always make a book so much more enjoyable and fun- especially for little ones. I ADORED the vibrant, colorful illustrations AND the artistic style makes them a lot more cozy.

My Sweet Boy is a very short and loveable story about a mother and her son and all of the wonderful, caring and important qualities that he has. I thought it was a perfect read to help littles understand how to be GOOD- listening, SHARING, being kind to others, being GENTLE, being POLITE, etc.

Instead of being told these things, reading this book daily is an excellent way to begin incorporating morals and good behavior into everyday life- in simple, and fun ways!

DEFINITELY recommend for a classroom setting- ones even catered towards behavioral needs and would be a lovely book to add to a home library too! It's never too early to start learning good behavior!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author & illustrator for the DRC!

Lovely cover and beautiful illustrations. The book showcases positive behaviour and rewards the boy for being so sweet. I would like to see the sweet boy experience some challenges as teachable moments in order to use in a classroom setting.

My Sweet Boy is about a mother's love for her child and behavior.

I have mixed opinions about this book. While the message is sweet and the illustrations are adorable, I feel like it's very "only good behavior will be rewarded" versus teaching children how to have manners. Children will make mistakes, and that's part of learning. It shouldn't be "out of sight out of mind," mind frame.

We need to see the whole child and what they have to offer and be a model as the adult. I do think it captures a mother's love, which is essential, though.

This book is easy to follow and would be appropriate for young children.

Thank you to the author and the publisher for an e-arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

This rhyming picture book teaches about good behaviour through a positive lens. While describing a child, the author models positive behaviour in a non-punitive way. It is a nice story and I think that it is a great book for families to read with young children. I would recommend this book for children in the 3-8 range, with older children being able to read it more independently. Additionally, the rhyming nature will help build literacy skills and phonemic awareness in young children who are developing the skills required to learn to read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

'Mamma's boy' is what came to mind as I read My sweet boy by Krystaelynne Sanders Diggs. The book depicts a mother's love for her son, and aptly demonstrates it with the drawings.

This short, sweet story is full of pleasant rhymes and vibrant, colorful pictures. With clever rhymes and easy flow, the book delivers a good message in a way that children will be able to understand. However, it would appear as if the message is more relevant to boys and their moms. Little girls might not be able to relate to the content.

Nevertheless, this is a cute story and the pictures are stunning.

My Sweet Boy is full of beautiful, colorful illustrations. My son and I found the illustrations to be very engaging. My son loved the rhyming text of the story.

I did feel like the story was missing a bit of substance and felt like the message wasn’t quiet there. It seemed like a lot of pressure to put on a child when they read it.

This was really adorable! I loved the illustrations in this picture book. I also loved the way it portrayed a young boy experiencing his emotions and exhibiting kindness and gentleness. In a world where boys are typically valued for strength and stoicism, it was nice to see that boys can (and should) be valued for these other traits as well. While the text didn't quite flow perfectly at times, I believe the overall message and the pictures in this book make this an excellent choice to share as a read aloud or bedtime story.

Beautiful artwork.
Most picture books serve three purposes. The first being the story. Second the pictures, and the third being the calming rhythm to lull the child to sleep. The rhythm of the author’s rhymes wasn’t always smooth with this picture book. The story felt empty and lacked real substance. The only reason I do not give this one star is because the art work is stunning.

Loved the illustrations, but the story is empty. I think it tries to show kids how to be a ''good kid'' but they hear about that everyday by their parents, teachers, educators. They don't need to read about that in a book. Reading should be fun and this book seems boring for a kid.
