While this book was a bit hard to get into, once it got going it was a good story. I felt that it could have been a bit more cohesive but I really enjoyed it.

This book pulls you in from the first sentence. Desperately Seeking Lily is not just a mystery thriller, but a story of how love transcends death. Definitely a quick read!

I am confused by the other reviewer's comments. I found this book to be very creative and descriptive. I feel perhaps, the author shared too much in the description, which could've left little to be expected, but the book was well thought out and an excellent, suspenseful read!

Desperately Seeking Lily tells the story of an old man who travels century to century looking for his beloved wife. I was moved by the character's passion for his wife as he travels through time searching for the men responsible. This book was an exciting read and always kept me on my toes! Anyone who enjoys mysteries, mixed in with some romance and sci-fi, will be pleased with this book.

Desperately Seeking Lily is a novel based on an intriguing idea that unfortunately hasn’t been executed in the most successful way. The concept of a man looking for his wife through different lives is an idea worth exploring and it hooked me straight from the beginning. Yet the biggest problem is the constant action and no description that would build the atmosphere or characters. I understand that the mystery was supposed to keep the reader entertained, but the ending is so heavily foreshadowed that the reader just waits for the characters to finally catch up to it. In regards to the characters, they were not given enough personality to make the reader care about them. We only get to know little snippets of facts that feel like an afterthought when a little justification for action is needed. I think the author should have taken more time in trying to build the atmosphere better and maybe even set some parts of the book in the past. Tatum is an unusual character and some parts from his point of view would be beneficial for the story. I also had a little problem understanding how his “time-traveling” works, as he seemed to be able to do just about anything except what he really wanted to do, which didn’t make much sense. Overall, I feel like there is potential for the author who has intriguing ideas that will benefit from more complex characters and atmosphere building in the future.

The book lacks more facts about the past. It centers too much in the present and we have very little of the past.
