This was promoted on Amazon as "A page-turning suspenseful thriller". I found it to be none of those things. It dragged on for 80% of the book until there was a jaw dropping twist that I definitely wasn't expecting, but it still wasn't enough to save it from a doomed 1 star review because then it got even weirder. Definitely wasn't a fan.
TW: Adultery, incest, child suicide attempt, miscarriage.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Books Ireland for this eARC.

Caroline has a good life - a job she likes, a daughter she'd do anything for. In the midst of the Christmas rush, covering events and parties, the local journalist is looking forward to the holidays and having some quality time with the ones she loves.
But Caroline's good life is not her only life.
When, out of the blue, she spots a frighteningly familiar figure in the crowd - a man she hasn't laid eyes on in more than twenty years - she is jolted shockingly back to a secret past she'd hoped she'd put behind her forever. This book bursts from the first page like a horse at the gate and never stops running. It’s a wild ride.

I enjoyed the first quarter of this book but then it became too unrealistic. I thought Caroline and Tabby were ok characters but Jodie and Ray seemed the most unlikely couple only to be surpassed by Mark!
So I’m afraid it wasn’t for me. It was one that I had to finish but not very memorable.

Thanks to NetGalley for this advance reading copy of Closing In. I think I set this book too high in my hopes of being a good book as it was not all that for me, The synopsis read so well that I thought this may be one of the next best book for. I read a book like this before and it was just okay.

This is my first read by author E.D. Thompson and it was a good read. The blurb reads

I enjoyed the character of Caroline and really felt like I got to know her, as much as you can when its fiction. This was a good and twisty read and I enjoyed the authors writing. I felt like the author really wanted to engage with the audience and I feel that this was achieved.

I really enjoyed this read it was twisty and atymospheric and kept me guessing. I couldn't put it down and just had to keep reading to find out what happens.
