Only giving us access to the first two chapters is a little cruel but it got me to order the book… so thank you to NetGalley for introducing me to this world.
I am assuming and guessing here but I am dying to know what happens once our FMC is picked during the selection and taken by the Glacians over the chasm - winged creatures who live on the other side of the mountain.
I have so many questions and a lot of anticipation… excited to continue with this story.

Ledge by Stacey McEwan is an Adult Romantasy and it was a great read
The thing that really engaged me with this book was the strength of the narrative in the worldbuilding. I felt transported, I felt the cold and the gritty, sharp environment. There is so much in this storyline that is tightly woven like frozen barbed wire, ready to snag you in and keep you there
Dawsyn is a powerhouse of an FMC who is determined not to accept her lot and become an apertif for those in the Chasm. The character development is very strong and I was utterly entranced by her tenacity. as for Ryon, yes! Thank you for writing a powerful MMC that is a cinnamon roll and can be dominating without being overbearing. That took real skill to achieve!
Thank you very much to Netgalley, Angry Robot and Stacey McEwan for this absolutely fantastic ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own

Flew through this! What a start to a book. Cannot wait to read the rest! Fantastic pace and introduction.

Thank you for the 2 chapter preview!
I flew through this! Definitely want to read the rest of the book now. The world’s a little confusing, but the Hunger Games vibes are nice, and I need to know what happens!

McEwan knows how to pace a book or her editor does! They also know the value of not needing 400+ pages to tell a story.
This was fun, fast, witty and still character driven! Gold stars all round I’ll definitely be continuing this series

I'm obsessed!
I went into this book not fully knowing what to expect since I hadn't heard too much about it.
The main female character, Dawsyn, is head strong and determined to find answers no one wants to give her. She is a powerful, blunt, survivor who will do whatever it takes to see another day. I love this energy as a main female character who is able to find love and seek physical affection, without it diminishing her character or making her look weak.
Ryon, another tall, dark, and handsome bat boy to add to the collection! He's a halfling, half Glacian and half human, but he's fully on Dawsyn's side.
I love reading this book and getting to see both characters perspective, giving their story of survival more depth.
I already ordered the second book and I'm sure I'll love it as much as the first! Can't wait to get my hands on Chasm to see what happens next to the people, Glacians, and Halflings of the Ledge's universe.

This sampler was just enough to leave me intrigued and leave me curious about the rest of the book. I definitely will be giving the full book a try when it is released.
I did find the spicy scene to be a bit cringe, so I’m not sure if this will be a 5 star read for me, but I guess I will just have to wait until the release to find out.

This was a superb read that hooked me with an incredible narrative and slick writing style.
I really loved this so much that I bought a physical copy. I’d highly recommend this to readers familiar with the genre

"Ledge" sets the stage for an exhilarating fantasy adventure that grips readers from the very first page. I like how Stacey McEwan weaves a captivating tale of survival, sacrifice, and unexpected alliances in a frozen world teeming with danger. Dawsyn's journey from reluctant sacrifice to determined survivor is compelling, and her complex relationship with Ryon adds layers of tension and intrigue to the story. As they navigate the treacherous landscape of the Ledge and confront the enigmatic Glacians, readers are drawn into a mesmerizing tale of bravery and resilience. With its blend of action, romance, and high stakes, "Ledge" promises an epic start to The Glacian Trilogy that will leave readers eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Really enjoyed the glimpse into this story. I immediately went to download the full story so I could find out what happens next.

3.5⭐️
very quick and very interesting! I can tell this wouldn't be a 5 stars (the cringy spicy scene vocabulary was enough to come to that conclusion) but the concept is nice. I wish it was more centered around the Ledge town part than the winged creatures feeding on humans. considering everything they've done (kill people and torture them) I don't know how someone from their species could become a love interest. from a comment / review I read I believe it does go on to have an unredeemable (is that a word? can't be redeemed) love interest who, like in many fantasies coming out recently, gets the girl while still being a terrible person. the Hector guy introduced at the beginning might be human and "boring" (as the childhood friend love interest is supposed to be) but he's a much better option and without even getting to the "reaping" part I wish she married him instead of whoever comes next. I received a sample of the Ledge to read, which included the first two chapters. The first two chapters give similar vibes to the Hunger Games. I am very intrigued and will likely seek out the full book and the second book, Chasm.

Good beginning to a new fantasy series looking forward to continuing the series. Liked the writing style and concept. Thank you NetGalley for the preview arc.

The plot of this story was so unique I was foaming at the mouth to read this arc. Ledge revolved around a beautiful world and amazing characters. The main character is on a quest to save her people. I did have a few questions regarding the plot that were left unanswered. I am hoping this will be answered in book two. Overall the plot and romance was intriguing and I’m looking forwards to picking up the next book.

So far I’m very intrigued.
This was a sample copy of this book, and I really liked the idea so far. It reminded me a little bit of hunger games and I know this is kind of funny, bugs life, but with humans of coarse. Because of the sacrifice and always living in fear of when they will come and pick them up and who will offer them self. I’m very interested so far in continuing the story. This review is based off two chapters.
Thank you Netgalley for offering this advanced reader copy sample in exchange for my honest review.

This was the first two chapters of the book and u really enjoyed it. It left me wanting for more. The writing style is fluid and full of images. The world building is done in a good way. It shown rather than told. I could feel the cold and the way it gets to you no matter what. I know that feeling and the author really presented it well.
I would certainly read the rest of the story if I had the chance.

I was hooked just from reviewing the first two chapters. You can feel Dawsyns strength and resilience, but also her loneliness that seems to be overtaking her. A loneliness that can infect even the strongest of souls when the world seems to be built against you. The concept of a world built in solitude, and the desperation for survival is enthralling. I want to know why they are on the ledge, I want to know what happens to Dawsyn and Hector, and I want to continue reading! Loved it!

From just the first two chapters, I am already hooked! It is hard to tell exactly what the book is about since I’ve read so little of it but it seems to be about a young woman and the people who live on a mountain with her. On this mountain is a slippery ledge that people can easily fall down into. There are also winged creatures that come and sacrifice people each year. The author writes this story in enchanting detail, building a beautiful yet terrifying world in less than 25 pages. The two characters that we meet also have an intense love affair that will keep you wanting more. I really look forward to reading the rest of this book!

Thank you Netgalley for this sampler of Stacey McEwan's Ledge!
These first two chapters open up Dawsyn's story with life on the Ledge. The writing drags you into the bleak life she lives and though Dawsyn lives by the mantra 'the cold is not alive', McEwan makes it feel as though the cold is reaching through the pages and suffocating you along with the people of the Ledge. A strong introduction to a desolate world and a character whose perseverance and will to survive make her a formidable hero to come. This sampler has me hooked and I look forward to continuing Dawsyn's story with my own copy of Ledge!

I was lucky enough to receive the first two chapters of this book. It's a very good start really sucks you in and wanting to know more about these characters and where the story goes from here. Will definitely be picking up the whole book to finish.
