Finished my proof of #PeregrineQuinn by @ashbwrites today (thanks @piccadillypress @bonnierbooks_uk) & loved it. Satisfying ending but also very excited that there will be more! Publishes in April, brilliant #UKMG funny fantasy adventure (definitely for fans of Artemis Fowl).

With a name like ‘Peregrine Quinn’, of course this was going to be an epic book! It was filled with action, adventure and magic and not to mention a kick ass plant, an awesome librarian and a brave little faun.

The unlikely trio are thrown together in a race to save the realm from the return of an evil mistress who will sow discord and chaos across the Cosmic realm. Peregrine’s godfather, Daedalus Bloom has been kidnapped and there’s no way she’s backing down from the fight to get him back. Even if it means venturing into a world she never thought she’d become a part of…

I loved the bases and nods to Greek myth in this, with Olympus Inc. and figures from the stories like Hekate and Zeus. It was a well written and crafted story with easily likeable characters. It also had the perfect level of intrigue and adventure to keep you reading and it really was effortless to enjoy.

Can definitely tell this is going to be a great series to come.

Children’s fantasy adventure book (older readers will enjoy it too!!!) A new hero has arrived. Peregrin Quinn, although she is only twelve and a human to boot. Her guardian is a lot older, has links to Olympus and is about to disappear. And so starts the adventure as Peregrin rushes to the rescue, with witt, snark, self-doubt, some friendly gadgets and don’t forget about the plant! Fun from beginning to end. A complete story but an ending that suggests the adventure has just started for Peregrin Quinn. Eoin Colfer fans will like this book. Thank you to Bonnier Books Uk and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

Twelve year old Peregrine has grown up on a rich diet of exciting adventure stories featuring strange worlds and fantastical creatures from her Grandfather Daedulus. But she never bargained for the possibility that the stories were real!

Now she finds herself unexpectedly plunged into into an adventure of her own, when she is forced to follow her grandfather into an alternate dimension in order to save the world(s) that Grandfather Daedulus has always had access to and that Peregrine never knew about before...

This is an original story in an otherwise crowded field, which features some very creative characters and creatures - including a sentient plant named Bernadette, a sweaty faun and a Dryad librarian. The storyline is gripping and effortlessly holds the reader's interest. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for an entertaining read.

A lovely start to this exciting new series for children (and the occasional adult)
The heroine is Peregrine, a 12 year old girl who follows her godfather into an alternate realm to save him and ends up having to save everyone!
It's got some great characters including Bernadette the sentient plant, Cal the sweaty faun, and librarian and portal protector Rowan who is a Dryad.
It's filled with magic peopled with mythical characters, many of whom you'll have heard of before, making it feel instantly familiar and easy to connect with
What I like is it doesn't try TOO hard to be overtly PC as so many kids books do these days. It's nicely paced and a page turner and it was just really fun to read. In some plces especially at the start I felt there was a touch too much dialogue, explanations, and telling rather than action and showing. But once I got past those couple of parts I was swept away by a very engaging story which is sure to be a huge hit. I am eager to read the second part of this planned series.

What a great new series this is going to be. Magic, Olympians and baddies - what more could you want!

Peregrine is a 12 year old who knows something about magic but not enough. She wants to learn more but isn’t allowed into the Realm, her uncle keeps her away from it but all that changes when someone upsets the portals.

Looking forward to reading more from this author and seeing how the adventures progress.

Peragrine Quinn and the Cosmic Realm is an edge of your seat adventure that will take you from the Terran Realm to the Cosmic Realm and back again. A gripping read full of a host of wonderful characters you will want to get to know, this book is perfect for fans of Artemis Fowl.

I loved this and devoured it in one sitting. The action begins from the very first page and continues at pace until the end of the book leaving you wanting more! There is an eclectic mixture of characters from Terrans (humans), immortals, fauns, nymphs, dryads, Arthur the duck, Bogbrethren and Bernie the plant. Chaos is certainly descending but who is the mastermind behind it all? Can Peregrine and her new group of friends complete the quest and save the realms?
I can't wait to share this with some of my children who I know will be just as engrossed as I was.

I had heard so much about this book and I am glad to say that it did not disappoint, in fact it more than exceeded my expectations. What a roller-coaster of a story, with Greek myths mixing with modern technology and parallel worlds. This is a superb first book and bodes well for a brilliant future career.

From the start of this story through to the very last page, readers are in for an unforgettable and thrilling adventure. Weaving together a sense of history and legend with technology and modern life, Ash Bond has created something truly special in Peregrine Quinn, Daedalus, Rowan, Nim, Cal, Tyron and their adventures.

Promised to be the first in the series, Peregrine Quinn is the new heroine to love. She is thrust into a strange adventure that seems mythical rather than believable but she has been taught many valuable skills by her god-father Daedalus and her mother.

With plenty of cool tech, a villain trying to escape an ancient portal and so many mentions of librarians and libraries, it was a dream story! The characters are brilliant, Arthur the duck included and I even have a soft spot for Stan and Earl, the bog brethren!

Can Peregrine defeat those wishing to harm the cosmic realm armed with only Bernadette, a plant she carries in her back pack? Only one way to find out- grab this book in April and get ready for a mythical, magical ride!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley. I was drawn to this book largely by the cover and the description. I'm a massive mythology nerd anyway, which is why the description grabbed me so much.

There was a lot of action, adventure and magic involved in this book - as well as characters from Greek myths and magic portals, as well as a mystery to solve. There's lots of humour involved too so there's plenty going on to keep the younger audience entertained (considering this book is aimed at the middle grade audience.) I do think that the older audience can enjoy this story too (I am part of that older audience.) For some random reason, I kept getting Doctor Who vibes from this book (that's not a bad thing as although I'm not a Whovian, I know Doctor Who is insanely popular. The Percy Jackson series would be a closer match, given the strong Greek myth flavours to each series.) It is nice to see a strong female character leading the cast for a change here too.

There will be more entries into this series; I'm interested to see where this goes. A strong performance by a debut author!
