From the start of this story through to the very last page, readers are in for an unforgettable and thrilling adventure. Weaving together a sense of history and legend with technology and modern life, Ash Bond has created something truly special in Peregrine Quinn, Daedalus, Rowan, Nim, Cal, Tyron and their adventures.

Promised to be the first in the series, Peregrine Quinn is the new heroine to love. She is thrust into a strange adventure that seems mythical rather than believable but she has been taught many valuable skills by her god-father Daedalus and her mother.

With plenty of cool tech, a villain trying to escape an ancient portal and so many mentions of librarians and libraries, it was a dream story! The characters are brilliant, Arthur the duck included and I even have a soft spot for Stan and Earl, the bog brethren!

Can Peregrine defeat those wishing to harm the cosmic realm armed with only Bernadette, a plant she carries in her back pack? Only one way to find out- grab this book in April and get ready for a mythical, magical ride!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley. I was drawn to this book largely by the cover and the description. I'm a massive mythology nerd anyway, which is why the description grabbed me so much.

There was a lot of action, adventure and magic involved in this book - as well as characters from Greek myths and magic portals, as well as a mystery to solve. There's lots of humour involved too so there's plenty going on to keep the younger audience entertained (considering this book is aimed at the middle grade audience.) I do think that the older audience can enjoy this story too (I am part of that older audience.) For some random reason, I kept getting Doctor Who vibes from this book (that's not a bad thing as although I'm not a Whovian, I know Doctor Who is insanely popular. The Percy Jackson series would be a closer match, given the strong Greek myth flavours to each series.) It is nice to see a strong female character leading the cast for a change here too.

There will be more entries into this series; I'm interested to see where this goes. A strong performance by a debut author!

Fantastic, nonstop adventure in abundance. Peregrine Quinn and the Cosmic Realm, is a fun filled Greek Mythology based classic. It’s perfect for fans of Artemis Fowl and The Strangeworlds Travel Agency. I can’t wait for more.

Huge thanks to the author and publisher for the chance to read the ARC, in exchange for an honest review

Peregrine forever!!
My 9 year old absolutely loved this book and is delighted it's the first in a series, she has already asked twice when the second book will be out and has to be content to rereading while she waits.

This was a lovely mix of mythology and modernity. Brilliant storytelling, intensely readable, action packed with wonderful characters, Peregrine Quinn being the favourite, she has a new superfan here.

Recommend.

5 star.

Finished my proof of #PeregrineQuinn by @ashbwrites today (thanks @piccadillypress @bonnierbooks_uk) & loved it. Satisfying ending but also very excited that there will be more! Publishes in April, brilliant #UKMG funny fantasy adventure (definitely for fans of Artemis Fowl).

Children’s fantasy adventure book (older readers will enjoy it too!!!) A new hero has arrived. Peregrin Quinn, although she is only twelve and a human to boot. Her guardian is a lot older, has links to Olympus and is about to disappear. And so starts the adventure as Peregrin rushes to the rescue, with witt, snark, self-doubt, some friendly gadgets and don’t forget about the plant! Fun from beginning to end. A complete story but an ending that suggests the adventure has just started for Peregrin Quinn. Eoin Colfer fans will like this book. Thank you to Bonnier Books Uk and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

I loved this and devoured it in one sitting. The action begins from the very first page and continues at pace until the end of the book leaving you wanting more! There is an eclectic mixture of characters from Terrans (humans), immortals, fauns, nymphs, dryads, Arthur the duck, Bogbrethren and Bernie the plant. Chaos is certainly descending but who is the mastermind behind it all? Can Peregrine and her new group of friends complete the quest and save the realms?
I can't wait to share this with some of my children who I know will be just as engrossed as I was.

I had heard so much about this book and I am glad to say that it did not disappoint, in fact it more than exceeded my expectations. What a roller-coaster of a story, with Greek myths mixing with modern technology and parallel worlds. This is a superb first book and bodes well for a brilliant future career.

Has strong Percy Jackson/Artemis Fowl influences with an added hint of Maz Evans. A stonking adventure with a feisty heroine & an irresistible supporting cast that bring the relentless action to joyous life. Beautifully realised with perfect touches of humour. Sparkling, epic debut, bring on the next!

This is another story using Greek mythological characters in the plot.
Greek mythology is frequently used as a platform from which to launch fantastical stories and yet the medium never seems to get tired, perhaps because we know something of the characters already and enjoy a fresh perspective on them.
This was a lovely adventurous 'romp' through various challenges as Peregrine Quinn and her new acquaintances from the mythical realm race to save the world from destruction. True to the genre, Peregrine Quinn, a mere mortal, has been kept largely ignorant of the mythical realm until she needs to act to save it, giving a device for the reader to learn about this unknown world at the same pace that Peregrine does.
I loved all the characters. They were genuine and quirky and I look forward to reading more of their adventures.

Much like her namesake, Peregrine Quinn wants to take flight into the mysterious cosmic world, if only her godfather Daedalus shared her enthusiasm. 😩 Unlike her mortal self, he’s an immortal grand architect of the library system, which houses portals spread across the world since ancient times. 📚🏛️🏺

But when an ancient threat plans to use the libraries to escape and cause havoc, it’s Daedalus she first comes for and he’s kidnapped and held hostage with a lightning bolt on the way to destroy the threat, Daedalus included. ⚡️ With characters like Bernadette (a sentient plant), Cal, (a fawn) and Rowan (a dryad), Peregrine Quinn is determined to save both her godfather and the world before evil takes over. But time is ticking, and if the lightning bolt hits, it’s all over. 🪴 💀

🌈Review:🌈

With the new rebooted series on Disney for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I am feeling the Greek mythology stories, so this book was hitting the spot. ✨This is a fast-paced adventure novel, packed with magic, fun characters, exciting locations and ‘portals’ (which I hear is in demand for MG)! 💫

This has everything a kid would find exciting, however, if I were to make a small comment - the many POV hops left my ancient brain spinning sometimes. But as the not intended audience, this is no big issue 😉

I wish I found out more about what kind of ‘totally normal human’ Peregrine Quinn is, and why her mother was out of the picture, and who is her father? But I suspect this is just the beginning of a marvellous series, in which all will be revealed in due course. 🙏

I’m excited to see the reaction once this amazing story hits the shelves, and I wish it every success with publication day. 👏
