Sadly for me this book just didn’t hit the mark, I found it very slow and hard to get into. I couldn’t connect with the characters at all and ended up DNF it at 25%

I found the start confusing when her friend died, I had to go back and reread it to see who Rae was.

I’m sure lots will love it but wasn’t for me.

Cover is stunning

I won’t be sharing to socials as less than 3 stars.

I loved Becca and the journey she was on. This book was a bit emotional for me ( check tw !) but a beautiful story that wasn’t dragged or had any unrealistic or uncharacteristic twists and turns. You’ll enjoy this one with a nice cup of tea and fluffy blanket!!

The story of Riley and Becca. Online friends who meet n real life when Becca is going through a tough time. Both authors struggling to write, will they help each other. An emotional read.

3.5 stars

While I loved the book's premise and the first 20 pages of the plot twists, the book just didn't excite me. There are many charming moments but even when Becca and Riley had witty banter, I think the book could have used more depth and romance between them. That was what was lacking in the book. It needed more depth in their romantic relationship.

Thank you NetGalley and Headline for the ARC.

Thank you to Breea Keenan, NetGalley and Headline for this eARC.

Overall I liked this book, but for me it lacked some depth to really take it to the next level, although it’s a romance, it felt like it was missing something extra, tension & hidden looks, that kind of thing. A dual POV would have been fab to capture this.

I really like Breea’s writing style, it felt similar in some ways to Emily Henry. She captured topics like grief, forgiveness and finding yourself fun a really lovely way.

If you’re looking for a cute romance that is easy and light, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this.

Becca's life is far from perfect. She hates her boss and has a serious case of writer's block. The only two bright spots in her life are her best friend and her online writing friend, Riley. When Becca finds out her best friend died on her way to visit Becca, her life is turned upside down. Becca decides that she needs a change of scenery and when Riley suggests coming to visit, Becca decides it will be good to have some girl time. However, upon her arrival Becca soon realizes that Riley is actually a hot, Irish man who is also a single dad. They soon realize that they are the perfect partners but with their complicated past, can they truly be together?

This was such a cute romance story that also deals with grief, forgiveness and moving on. I think the author did a great job with both of the main character's past and how that realistically effected their relationship. I also enjoyed the different books they were writing and how they both worked together to overcome writer's block. Overall, I loved this book and will be looking for more books by this author in the future.

Plot Twist comes out on March 28th.

I’d like to thank NetGalley, Headline and the author for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I made it about 20% in and I have to say I could not continue it.. I’m not a fan of the all over the place dialogue in my opinion.. also Becca is insufferable. She’s extremely selfish and I didn’t even get half way in.. everything seems to lack depth.. the writing just isn’t for me I guess? I’m not really connecting with any characters..

Still extremely grateful to have received an ARC!

Thank you NetGalley, Breea Keenan, and Headline for letting me have a sneak peak at this super fun read! If you are a fan of romantic comedies, refinding yourself, moving countries, and… hot single dads, this books is for you! This book follows Beeca as she faces a massive life change with the loss of her best friend (as well as finding out a pretty large secret her best friend kept from her). Feeling lost, she takes a leave of absence from her teaching job and decides to move in with her writing pen pal in Ireland to have writers summer to finish their book. Just like the title of the book, the is plot twist after plot twist. I really adored this read! It was super fun, well paced, and always kept me wanting to read more. Mark your calendars for March 28th! You do not want to miss this read!!

I always love an Irish rom-com, and this did not disappoint. Plot Twist had all my favorite elements: friends to lovers, small town setting, flashbacks, grand gestures, family, cancer scare, everything wrapped up in a pretty bow at the end. Loved it all! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

Amazing book!
I was thoroughly engaged throughout this book and I didn't want to put it down! The author captured my attention from the get go! Five stars from me :)

This book was really fun to read! It started off with Becca who initially faces tragedy in her life, following that she drunkenly packs her bags and heads to Ireland to stay with another writer friend, in this time her life begins to turn upside down. She faces grief and betrayal yet comes out on top. This book does not focus heavily on romance but I loved this story because the friendships built and the plot twists of her life made this a really interesting read!
I do feel as though some parts could have gone into depth more as it was only reading on the surface and some parts felt rushed.
Thank you Headline Books and Netgalley for this Arc.

This was a mixed bag for me. I liked the author’s writing style and think the story was easy to get into. Also liked supporting characters like Bridget, Ellie and Ivy (she was adorable). I enjoyed the friendship between Becca and Riley and that they challenged each other in their little writers retreat but the romance fell a bit flat for me. I felt like there was no real tension between them and the way certain things played out near the end just felt like unnecessary drama. As for the Drew of it all, I was torn between being mad on Becca’s behalf and wondering why I was mad since that whole relationship felt underdeveloped despite the flashbacks. I think the story would have benefitted from a lot more of §Rae and to emphasise why that friendship was so important to Becca. As it was I did not think we got to emotionally connect with Rae enough to explain Becca’s sense of loss and betrayal. Others might enjoy the book more so still think it’s worth a read. 2.5 ⭐️

Thanks to NetGalley, I received the ARC for this debut novel. Here is my honest review:

I rate it a solid 3.5 stars. The beginning of the book was a bit shaky for me, but I really started to enjoy it as it went along. However, I feel like there could have been more development in the romance between Riley and Becca. I also wish it had been a dual point of view so we could have experienced Riley’s version of events. Some of the “plot twists” in the book were kind of thrown in and not elaborated on enough.

Overall, I thought Plot Twist was a really cute romcom. My favorite book is a sports romance set in Ireland, so I was excited to read another book that took place in the same type of setting. The descriptions of the locations made me feel like I was there. The writing flowed smoothly and it was a very easy, quick read.

This was so cute! Similar writing style to Emily Henry with its witty banter, gritty backstories and hopeful narratives. I loved the literary theme and the setting throughout.

The beginning was slightly slow but I loved the ending.

Could have done with a bit more depth at times, but overall an entertaining, heartfelt story of love and loss!

A sweet romance with a few twists and turns! Overall I found it hard to stay “in” the book and often had to double check which character we were referencing with Riley and Rae, but I liked it. Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC!

A surprising read! I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did, and had anticipated it being the standard romance book with predictable tropes, storylines and endings. However, I was so drawn in by the main characters and found myself desperately reading 'just one more chapter' to find out what would happen! every time I thought I knew where things were going there was a suprise bit of information that kept me wanting more. I really enjoyed how the themes of grief, friendship and betrayal were explored and represented as well as forgiveness. As a teacher myself, I especially enjoyed that Becca was a teacher and loved learning about her reasons for going into teaching and her passion for it, I haven't read many books about teachers so it was really nice feeling like I could relate to these parts. I particularly liked that the main character was so self reflective and considerate of her actions as often I find with romances this isn't the case! I would've loved a bit more information towards the end about Becca and Riley's life together rather than going straight to the proposal in the epilogue if I'm being really picky, but all in all a totally fabulous book which I would highly recommend to even the most cynical of romance readers!

Insane!

What a phenomenal ARC read this one was.

I genuinely messaged my friends around Chapter 3 and told them this was going to be one of my favourite reads of 2024!

Plot Twist was such a unique read, the themes of grief, betrayal, forgiveness and love were so well written I couldn’t put it down.

Mark March 28 on your calendars because you NEED to get your hands on a copy when it is released.

Becca must find a way to navigate a new world without her best friend, as new revelations find their way to the surface, she seeks an escape.

She takes off to stay with an author friend of hers she met online in hopes of spending some time away from all the heartbreak in her life. But some names really are ambiguous.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bree’s Kennan, and Headline for the early access copy of Plot Twist.

Plot Twist is not your traditional romance novel. The story follows our protagonist Becca through her journey of grief of the loss of her best friend Rae, her escape to a beautiful Irish town to see her literary friend (whom she’s only talked to electronically), and the experience of a slow burn friends-to-lover story.

Plot Twist felt less of a love story and more of a story of Becca finding herself again after losing herself to her grief. healing, and forgiveness on many levels.

Small gripe, nearing the end of the book there is a health related concern that results in the love interest backing away. This was difficult to overcome as a reader.

This is a great read for anyone who is looking for a story about self-discovery, grief, friendship, and finding yourself after loss.

4 stars!

I absolutely love reading books about authors! Its pretty niche and fun!

I really enjoyed the plot (hehe) and the flashback chapters too. The chapters were a bit long which I don't normally like, I usually prefer shorter chapters but so much was happening in this book it didn't feel too bad!

This definitely gave me "book lovers" vibes but the romance was sweet, the story was great and there wasn't horrible miscommunication and a 3rd act break up!

Would definitely recommend to all my romance reading girlies!

Working through grief can be hard. Taking a trip to another country thinking you’re gonna meet a fellow female author only to find out it’s a man can be even harder.

This story was sweet and not too difficult to get through. The pacing was okay and I found the characters overall enjoyable. I was rooting for them the whole time.

Thank you NetGalley and Headline for the ARC.
