Goodbye Again by Author Caitlin Moss is, yet again, another beautifully executed intricate love story by one of my favourite authors!
Caitlin Moss has a magical way of articulating and encapsulating the feeling of any given moment, memory, or event that completely fulfills in a very immersive way.
The storyline with the “wrong time, wrong place, right person” trope is written in such a wonderfully anticipatory and suspenseful way that it keeps you on the edge of your seat—in the best possible way.
The evolution of the story satisfied the deep yearning for connection and romance.
If I had been able to in my schedule I would have read this in one sitting as it captured me right from the beginning.
Every time I read a book written by Caitlin Moss, I wonder if she realizes what a talented writer she is, as I am always delightfully reminded of that each time.
Loved this book! Well done!
Thankyou to Author Caitlin Moss, Netgalley and KDP publishing for the opportunity to read this book ahead of published date.

Wow, this book took me by surprise in the best possible way.
I had never read a Caitlin Moss book and I will definitely be checking her backlog and future books after this one.
We follow Julia and JP, a child therapist and a kindergarten teacher, as they keep finding and missing each other through the years. This is a right-person wrong-time, angsty, second chance romance made for people who love their love with a little bit of pain.
The author's voice allows you to breeze through this complex circumstances the are, at time, excoriating to read because of the empathy you might feel for these characters. Caitlin makes you fall in love with their story and care for their independent processes as well as the possibility of them as a unit.
I could not put it down from page one and found their journey worth the pain they put you through. Again, the author just takes you along and did a marvelous job with the pacing, it's like letting go on a river current, the story just carries you over. It also has just a hint of wonder and magic which I loved, like in real life, it's the little coincidences and signs that make you feel like someone is watching over you, telling you "hey, look over here...what if...?"
Highly recommended, definitely read the content warnings beforehand as they can be sensitive to some audiences. I'm thankful to the author for writing a content note at the beginning.

Thank you so very much to NetGalley and Caitlin Moss for the early copy of this book!
Do not let the sunshiny, yellow cover fool you!! This book is pain and heartbreak and tears wrapped in a fluffy looking package but WOW I am blown away. I'm glutton for punishment and will always love reading books that rip my heart to shreds and this story did just that. My chest actually hurts, my mascara is smudged- whew what a ride.
Julia and JP meet when they are coincidentally seated next to each other on a flight from Chicago to Seattle. Following that initially serendipitous meeting, they have been thrown into each other's orbits continuously over the span of many years. They are the perfect example of "right person, wrong time" and the two could never seem to be on the same page at the same time. Goodbye Again shows us what happens when you give a once-in-a-lifetime love a second (or third, or ninth) chance.
Things I loved about this book:
- the Gramma Elle chapters were so flipping wholesome
- JP and Julia's meet cute was adorable
- the friendship that grew between Julia and Audrey
- Kevin.
- the hospital scene
- I'll never be able to look at Taco Bell again without thinking about this book
Anyone in need of a good cry will love this story!

Goodbye Again by Caitlin Moss

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every time I read a Caitlin Moss book I think to myself “they just keep getting better!” .This one was exactly what I needed and I absolutely loved it.
Caitlin has a way of putting her heart and soul into her books. She writes with such emotion which makes me so connected to the story that I get so sad when they are over!
I loved the main character Julia. She was so relatable and had me giggling out loud. The Taco Bell and ranch dressing obsession? Yep.
J.P was absolutely swoony and is everything you would want in a partner.
This right person wrong time trope was done in such an original way. While this story had lots of laughs, it did also deal with some heavy issues at times and I think that is what makes me love her writing so much. I was crying by the time I got to the end. Please read the author’s note and you’ll get it (IYKYK).
As always, thank you so much Caitlin Moss and netgalley for the ARC! Save this one to your TBR for when it comes out in September 2024!

“I’ve been loved”
Let’s hear it for another Caitlin book that hit every emotion for me. Every time I dive into one of her books even though I’m just meeting the characters it immediately feels like home. This was such an easy five stars to give. The FMC is extremely relatable, and I laughed out loud, and even had some tears. And this MMC, what a gem. If you have Netgalley run don’t walk, or wait until release but truly this is one you don’t want to skip.
There is so many highlights I made throughout this book, but I’ll leave you with one of my favorites.
“Love often arrives when you aren’t looking for it. It swoops in on ordinary days and follows you around with every minute that passes. Love is an opportunist presenting ultimatums: fall in love or walk away.”

Devoured this in just a few sittings. It will break your achy breaky heart and leave you stewing in a vat of longing but you emerge from it filled with love and hope and tenderness.
Loved the characters. Loved the magnetic pull between them. Loved the right person-wrong time trope. Loved Kevin. Loved Gramma’s advice quotes (wish there was a little more to the gramma chapters). Loved the many many many (failed) chances—just added to the tension and longing and ache. Loved chapter 42 and how it came to fruition IN CHAPTER 42 (you’re a math wizard genius)

Wow, what an emotional rollercoaster! This book has ALL the feels.
Julia and JP meet on an airplane and form an immediate connection. Two people destined to be together, but pulled apart by life circumstances. Over the next five years the two cross paths several times but somehow the stars never seem to align. Sparks fly and hearts break. What will it take, how long will it take, for these soul mates to finally get their happily ever after?
Beautifully written story that’ll make you smile, cry with the characters, and cross your fingers that maybe *this* time it’ll work out for them. I love how the author wove common themes throughout the story over a span of five years- childhood trauma, grief, the field of literature, tacos, Kevin, and so much more. The characters grew throughout the story, closing chapters of their own lives and starting new ones. I would have liked to see a little more into their happily ever after but overall loved this read.

Absolutely love the Easter egg millennial references! A great amount of humor mixed in with romance and had just enough sauciness. Will be reading more of her books for sure!

I feel like I just went through a rollercoaster.
One moment I was happy, giggling and the next I was sad, miserable and angry. I think I just felt every emotion that exists.
I'm a big believer that there is such thing as the "right person, wrong time" and this book is the perfect example, it just shows how painful/frustrating it can be.
It's also a book that touches on the idea of invisible strings/red string theory, which I'm a fan of.
There was just something about these characters and the way the were written/portrayed that just made them feel very real, very human (I know that probably makes no sense); all of them have flaws and they know, they don't pretend/act like they're perfect (Julia's mom is an exception). I really loved that.
Last thing I have to say is that I rarely read Acknowledgements, but for some reason I wanted to read this one and Caitlin Moss....I hope you know that you had me crying in the 3rd paragraph and wishing I could also hug my younger self.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Title: Goodbye Again
Author: Caitlin Moss
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: ★★★★☆½
Release Date:3rd September 2024
Caitlin Moss’s "Goodbye Again" is a beautifully crafted, heart-tugging romance that explores the complexities of love, fate, and missed opportunities. This enchanting story left me believing in the magic of second chances and the invisible strings that bind us to our true loves.
In Julia Waters's logical and uncomplicated world, everything makes sense—until she meets JP Chapman on a cross-country flight. JP, a charming kindergarten teacher, captures Julia's heart with his wit and irresistible smile. Their chance meeting in Seattle leads to a magical night wandering the city, culminating in a visit to a fortune teller who predicts their futures will be forever intertwined.
However, love's journey is seldom straightforward. Over five years, careers, different cities, and missed opportunities keep Julia and JP apart. It isn't until Julia begins to heed the advice of her late grandmother—who visits her dreams since that fateful night in Seattle—that she understands not everything about love is logical. Julia must trust her grandmother's wisdom and ultimately herself to uncover the reason why she is continually drawn back to JP.
What I Loved:
1. Endearing Characters: Julia and JP are wonderfully relatable characters. Julia’s logical, no-nonsense approach to life contrasts beautifully with JP’s warm, easygoing nature. Their chemistry is palpable from the moment they meet.
2. Fate and Fortune: The element of fate, introduced through the fortune teller and Julia's grandmother's dream visitations, adds a touch of magic to the story. It’s both whimsical and profound, making their love story feel destined yet fragile.
3. Realistic Obstacles: The five-year span filled with careers, different cities, and missed chances makes the story realistic and relatable. It mirrors the real-life complexities and timing issues that often affect relationships.
4. Grandmother's Wisdom: Julia’s late grandmother serves as a guiding force throughout the novel, providing heartfelt and poignant advice through dream sequences. This unique element adds depth and emotional resonance to the story.
5. Beautiful Settings: The descriptions of the various cities, especially the magical night in Seattle, are vivid and captivating. These settings enhance the romantic and wistful mood of the story.
The fortune teller scene is a standout moment, setting the tone for the entire novel. Her mysterious and slightly eerie prediction that Julia and JP’s futures will be forever entwined adds an intriguing layer of fate and destiny that keeps you hooked.
"Goodbye Again" is a delightful, fun, and deeply emotional read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance who enjoy a touch of magic and fate in their love stories. Caitlin Moss skilfully weaves a narrative that is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, making you root for Julia and JP despite the obstacles in their path.
Julia’s journey to trust her heart and her grandmother’s wisdom is a testament to the power of love and the belief that some connections are meant to be, no matter the twists and turns along the way. This novel is perfect for those who believe in the beauty of second chances and the serendipitous moments that bring us back to our true loves.
So, grab a cozy blanket, settle into your favourite reading spot, and get ready to be swept away by the enchanting and heartfelt tale of Julia and JP. You’ll find it hard to say goodbye to this delightful story!
Thank you to The Author CAITLIN MOSS & NetGalley for an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.

Wow this had ALL the feels! It was sweet with the perfect amount of spice. There was humor woven in that had me laughing! I loved the description of the fortune tellers shop with the egg vending machine and some side references thrown in there only a true millennial would understand. This is the first Caitlin Moss book I’ve read and I’m already deciding which book of hers to read next!

I have read every book by Caitlin Moss and loved them, but this one REALLY pulled me in deep on an emotional level. JP and Julia's story, wow, I loved their lives intersecting through the years. I had a LOT of tears throughout this book and really related to her relationship with her Mom, and I adored my grandmother just as she did. Thank you Caitlin for telling this beautiful story!!♥️

Great read. To fall in love with someone at the wrong time proves to be a challenge for the main characters. The themes of love and loss are woven into a beautiful storyline. This would be a great beach read.

This contemporary romance weaves a poignant tale with the emotional twists that tug at the heartstrings. The author's writing style is eloquent, capturing the complexities of love and timing with depth and sensitivity. A compelling read that resonates long after the last page.

Wow, what a read. I wasn't expecting this book to be as deep and heartwrenching as it was. It started off light-hearted but it quickly became super intense. The 5 years that this book takes place over really took me on an emotional rollercoaster through JP and Julia's lives. The characters in this book were so complex, detailed, well-thought out, even the side characters. I loved JP and Julia, even though they each had their flaws. Even though JP has such a good heart, I definitely got mad, confused, and annoyed at him a few times. And I absolutely loved Julia - she has her own traumas with her mom and she acts tough, but she wears her heart on her sleeve. Seeing her go through those 5 years really broke my heart. I really wanted her to be happy. When I saw the book chapters and it was divided into NINE chances, I was like WHY?! because JP and Julia were so clearly made for each other. There was a lot of "right person, wrong time(s)", which made this a SLOWW BURN. Whenever they were pulled apart, I wanted to cry. Through these 5 years, we see how their lives drastically change and how they deal with their own hardships, but the one constant through those years was there unspoken, underlying love for each other. I also really liked the chapters with Julia and her grandmother - it was sweet and I liked that Julia had support from the beyond, and there's a nice little twist in the end.
I highly recommend this book, which isn't just about romance, but also about living life. JP and Julia have my heart and they remind me of Taylor Swift's song Invisible String.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the ARC!

What a good book. I enjoyed it immensely. It kept me turning pages way past my bedtime. I would recommend it to fellow readers who I think will enjoy it.

All the feels.

Looooved the chemistry. In love with JP. This is one of my favorites from Caitlin Moss. Definitely a must read.

This book made me go though every possible emotion while reading. I enjoyed the characters so much and the invisible string aspect really tied it all together. (No pun intended) Invisible string is one of my favorite tropes in a good book or movie and I really enjoyed the play it had here.

Great book. Believable characters and plot. I would read another book by this author. It kept my interest.
