Sue Moorcroft is a must read author for me and the third in trilogy of the stories of the three adopted Wynter sisters focuses on Valentina the eldest. Valentina and her son are spending summer on Skye in her recently purchased holiday home following a difficult divorce. During this challenging period details of her adoption emerge. Lovely to catch up with the people and places on Skye and a fitting conclusion for the Wynter sisters.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!

I absolutely adored Over the Sea to Skye! Returning to this series felt like coming home — the vivid, emotional storytelling and the stunning setting of the Isle of Skye swept me away once again. Valentina’s journey through heartbreak, healing, and rediscovery was so moving, and I couldn’t get enough of her connection with Xander. Their chemistry leapt off the page, and the warmth of her time with her sisters added so much heart. This book is a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the most unexpected detours lead us exactly where we’re meant to be. I already can’t wait for the next installment!

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Isle of Skye, this book is a heartwarming addition to the trilogy about the adopted 'Skye Sisters'. While it works as a standalone, having read the previous books definitely adds depth and makes it more enjoyable to reconnect with familiar characters. It’s not just a compelling romance—there are several unexpected twists that keep the story fresh and engaging. My only real disappointment was how quickly it wrapped up, but overall, it’s a fantastic read with rich characters and a beautiful setting that pulls you in from the start.

Just lovely to catch up with Valentina, Ezzie and Thea. This story is Valentina’s and her life with her son Barnaby and the news that her and Gary are no longer together. It’s another lovely, well written story that still makes me want to visit Skye.

A lovely return to Skye with the Wynter sisters. This book delves much deeper into Valentina's life and family situation. It was lovely to catch up with all the characters and once again the setting of the book was beautifully described. Highly recommended.

This is the third book in the series which follows the Wynter sisters. It was wonderful to be back in Skye catching up with the characters from the previous books but, if you haven't read these don't worry as it can very much be read a s a stand alone story. This story's focus is Valentina who has recently separated from her husband (Gary) who has run off with her very young assistant making home and work awkward. Deciding to take voluntary redundancy she is going to spend the summer with her son near her sisters.
Wanting to get away from everything and recharge her batteries before she starts the next stage of her life she knows her recently beautifully renovated holiday cottage will provide the escape and family support she needs.
However, as we know things never go to plan and a blast from the past, an American tourist and a few other surprises make this summer quite a rollercoaster and definitely one she won't forget.
Beautifully written, in a stunning location with heart warming characters - a perfect summer read and definitely one i would recommend as a holiday read to my friends.

Who doesn’t love a book about this family? It’s like visiting old friends and just falling back into place as if you’ve never been apart! I really loved this story, the writing is so good, and the descriptions really help you feel like you’re actually there. Valentina much deserves her happy ending, and I loved Xander’s story. I think my favourite part though is the friendship between MacDonald and Barnaby, so sweet!
Go and read this book, it feels like holidays, sitting on the beach with a cocktail and loving life!

Reading this book was like sinking into the embrace of a well-worn armchair, the kind that knows your shape and welcomes you back every time. It’s like walking into a room full of people you know well, but haven’t seen for a while, and your heart sings. This is a gorgeous series and I’m sad it’s just a trilogy.

When Valentina’s husband left her, for her assistant – a good 20 years younger than him, Valentina was devastated – not least for her seven-year-old son Barnaby who missed his Dad when he disappeared without trace. Valentina took Barnaby to her summer cottage on the Isle of Skye to be near her two sisters and for some morale support. When her husband finally gets in touch and wants to meet up, he doesn’t turn up. What has happened? Added to that Valentina plays good Samaritan to Xander and his nephew McDonald at the station when they are stranded, and gives them a lift. From then on Valentina and Xander’s paths seem to intersect fairly often – which helps Barnaby and McDonald as they keep each other amused despite the disparity in their ages.

A gorgeous story, well told, and it was wonderful to revisit so many ‘old friends’.

I love all the characters and the setting is amazing. I need to visit the Isle of Skye. Thank you Sue Moorcroft for providing us pure escapism reads.

Valentina is heading back to Skye with her son Barnaby after the break up of her marriage. She meets Zander on the train with his nephew who her son takes a shine to they are both heading to Skye as well trying to piece together their own family history.
Skye offers Valentina a great healing place as she starts to feel much more like herself along with her two sisters she bumping along nicely so she dosnt need Zander Courage to mix things up. Can she let go of her past to forge a future.
Great to catch up with the sisters and be back in Skye. Loving this series brilliant.

"Over the Sea to Skye" is the concluding novel in Sue Moorcroft's wonderful Wynter sisters trilogy. It's sad to think that this is the last we will read about them and the wonderful island where they have chosen to live.

This book focuses on the oldest sister Valentina in the aftermath of the breakdown of her marriage. She is the last of the sisters to complete her DNA test and follow up on the results. Meanwhile Thea has her baby, and Ezzie continues to manage her partner's "holiday home" as a a visitor attraction. Of course, there is also some romance and plenty of wonderful descriptions of the Isle of Skye.

I was excited to receive this third book in the Skye sisters trilogy as I’d really enjoyed the first two. This third instalment did not disappoint. Another really warm read about Valentina this time, the eldest of the sisters who is adjusting to life after separation in her new holiday home. It’s a beautiful setting, the bond between the sisters is well written and the story kept me engaged.

I have really loved this trilogy about three adopted sisters living on the Isle of Skye. Each book is about one of the sister’s life story. They have all been fabulous reads and this final instalment has been a wonderful conclusion. I am a great fan of Sue’s books. I highly recommend you read this series you won’t be disappointed.

Another great book in this series, bringing an emotional journey along the way as we get to know Valentina in more detail but still not forgetting her sisters and their own stories.

Although I read the first in the Skye Sisters trilogy, I don't particularly remember it (not a reflection of the book by any means, just my poor story retention), the second unfortunately passed me by. While I feel I missed out on some of the backstory having not read the second, it did not hinder my enjoyment of this one. Moorcroft completely brings you into her characters' worlds, and I was engaged through out. A lovely read.

This book is the third in the trilogy about sisters Thea, Ezzie and Valentina, set on the Isle of Skye. This is Valentina's story, and it does work as a standalone, however I would suggest they are read in order due to ongoing story elements that flow throughout the books.

Valentina and young son Barney head to Skye for the summer after the break up of Valentina's marriage, meeting American Xander and his nephew Macdonald on the journey. The book follows the story of Valentina's summer, with familial mishaps and new found friendships occurring along the way. I loved revisiting Skye and old favourite characters, it was comforting to read more about them. This was probably however my least favourite of the three books in the series, it felt drawn out at times with an abrupt ending, however it was well written and I cannot wait to see what Sue Moorcroft writes next.

The third book in the trilogy and a thoroughly enjoyable read. Delivered with the heartwarming and emotional goings on in the family dynamics of the Wynter sisters. I do really enjoy Skye and the surrounding area settings and it really sets the tone for a lovely afternoon read. I read feeling like I wish I was there too!
There's always so much going on without being too heavy and weighted, with the continued themes of adoption and family throughout as with the previous two books for Ezzie and Thea's characters too. I really like the realistic approach and viewpoint of Valentina with her situation.
Plus, my own hometown was mentioned which is always a nice little bonus!!

Book number three in a series, but could be read as a standalone- however catching up with everyone and watching their stories and lives develop and entwine together is something I would definitely recommend

This is the third book in a trilogy, all of which are excellent reads. It is helpful to read the other two books first to get the full pleasure from how each of the three sisters develop in their lives. This book focuses on Valentina, the oldest of the three adopted sisters and how her life continues after her husband leaves her for her assistant, who is half her age. The book takes a good look at the nature on Skye, the weather, the beach and what life is like on a calm island. This is a great backdrop to Valentina finding who she is as a single mum to Barnaby and exploring what her life means to her now.
