This is the first Fiona Cummins book I have read. I didn’t know it was a part of a series but once I started it, I just couldn’t stop (I’ve ordered the earlier books in the series to read now)
This book has quite a few different character point of views and set in different timelines but that just adds to the suspense.
The twists were great and memorable. I will remember this book for a long time.

Loved this book. I thought it was pretty dark, which I wasnt expecting. I’d also say it’s more family drama than thriller or mystery.
I love the character of Saul Anguish but still really hate the name!
There are a multiple timelines and POVs which really layers complexity to the story, in a good way.

'Some Of Us Are Liars' is the brilliant new unputdownable thriller by Fiona Cummins. It keeps you captivated throughout.
The famous actor Winter Kellaway throws a wedding party for her sister Jen Miller. But tragedy strikes and their lives will never be the same. In the aftermath family secrets are being revealed and lies are uncovered. Who can still be trusted?
This is a tender and well plotted gripping family mystery with many unexpected twists which just makes you want to keep reading. A perfect thriller for your summer holidays!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for the ARC.

Wow, once again, Fiona pulls off an unputdownable book!! We begin with Jen Miller asking her sister to look after her 4 year old son, Teddy unknowingly there is a tragedy, which will affect her whole family in ways that she would never see! The story is told in different points of view and over different timelines. DC Saul Anguish plays a small role within the Miller's family tragedy. It is full of family secrets, lies and bonds between the sisters, which I never saw happening. It was very well written and the characters although flawed were extremely relatable. It was gripping, gritty, taut and a tension filled read. That ending was unbelievable!!!

'Some Of Us Are Liars' is one of those novels that pull you in from the very first page and do not let you go!! The whole journey is taut with twists, turns, secrets and lies. It's dark, it's an emotional rollercoaster and its a fantastic read that you'll find difficult to put down. The 'never saw that coming ending' made me gasp and re-read -WOW!!
Great to feature troubled detective Saul Anguish and Blue again. Please can we have more soon? Highly recommended 5star read. Thank you netgalley, author and publisher for a very welcome early read.

Fiona Cummins is an auto read for me every time, so I was delighted to get an advanced copy of her new novel "Some of Us are Liars" from NetGalley and Pam Macmillan for the digital copy.
As always, I flew through the book once I got started because I know there is a twist coming, usually multiple, and I want to know if I guessed right or not. I just wanted to know what happened, so I got through this in a day (unheard of for me currently).
I will say this was more a family saga with a twist than a thriller, in my opinion. Either way, I really enjoyed it and would encourage people to pick it up if they like to be kept guessing and love a twist.
I will say I did at times find it a tough read in terms of content (upsetting), so you might want to check for triggers before you read.

I have read all of Fiona Cummins' books and enjoyed them but I am afraid this one did not hit the mark for me.. This started interesting but petered out until the last quarter where the pace picked up.
Most of the story centres on 3 sisters and the drowning of one of their sons. I guessed the main twist which is a turn off. Hopefully her next book will be better. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

I was not prepared for the deep emotions of Some of Us Are Liars. What should be a celebration, a wedding, turns to tragedy and the previously close family are ripped apart. Sisters Jen, Winter and Alyssa all have their own busy lives but are always there for each other. Winter has planned an extravagant wedding for Jen, whether she likes it or not. As the family gather together, the cracks begin to show, and secrets are finally uncovered. Can the sisters survive the revelations or will it tear them apart forever?
Some of Us are Liars is a great read; the characterisation of the sisters is so intense that you really feel their emotions along with them. It's great to see Detective Saul Anguish back in another book, and this time he has his own secrets to protect.

Fiona Cummins has become a favourite author of mine, so I was eager to dive in to Some of Us Are Liars.
The day should have been the happiest of days. Phil and Jen had originally slipped away quietly with their children, Iris and Teddy, to privately tie the knot. Now, there was to be a lavish wedding ceremony, surrounded by wider family, in the most idyllic of settings. A tragedy changes the events of that day, and every day that will follow, for the whole family.
The Kellaway’s have a complicated family dynamic. The three sisters are very different characters. The eldest Deborah, now known as Winter, is a hugely successful model turned actor. Jen, middle daughter, has always been the peacemaker. Alyssa, the baby of the family, if only by 11 months, has played on her youngest status, always seeming to get more attention whilst growing up. These childhood irks and resentments haven’t entirely been left behind, despite the sisters now being fully fledged adults.
The book is so well plotted and delivered. The details unfurl slowly, the author drip feeding snippets, to keep the reader on tenterhooks. Just when I thought we were going to hear more of the incident, we were given unexpected nuggets, which added to the intrigue. As a later revelation was unveiled, my mouth quite literally dropped open.
Some of Us Are Liars is a fabulous book, which further cements Fiona Cummins as a must read author for me. The twists and turns are sharp and unexpected, and it is very emotional at times. Specifically, Iris singing and reading to Teddy brought a huge lump to my throat.
I know this book will feature in my favourite reads of the year, even though we aren’t even halfway there yet. 5⭐️ highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant.
I first came across this author when I read 'When I was Ten' and thought that was brilliant, and this book couldn't possibly live up to that one. But boy did it!!!
I was hooked from the very first page and was enthralled right until the last page.
Brilliant.

Lots of twists and turns and although there wasn't as much focus on Saul in this book it still left me intrigued and I can't wait to see what he gets up to next.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

A flawed detective is part of crime tropes but I don't think I've read any as flawed as Detective Constable Saul Anguish. Even his name belies his tortured soul. In other hands, he might have become a caricature but Fiona Cummins has created a real flesh and blood character, who's just always slightly out of reach. If you've read all of Cummins' books then you know we first met Saul in 'The Collector' as a troubled teenager. I think seeing how Saul's developed into an adult really helps with the connection to the reader.
In 'Some Of Us Are Liars', we have less of Saul and far more about the Kellaway sisters - Winter, Jen and Alyssa. The story unfolds through various timelines and points of view, as tragedy engulfs the family. It's hard to say much about the plot because I don't want to give any spoilers away. Suffice to say, there are layers upon layers upon layers and just when I thought I'd got it, the story would twist again. I found this book particularly moving ( another trait of Cummins' writing). It's hard to explain but to me, it felt like melancholy was wrapped around the story like a silk shawl - just as I got comfortable, something would shift and I'd fill the chill again.
As I said, there is less of Saul in this book but judging by the ending, I think there's plenty more to come for Saul Anguish and I can't wait.

This is the story of three sisters belonging to a close knit family, who are about to find their family bonds being stretched to the snapping point.
Winter, Judi and Alyssa each have very much taken their own path in life - the tally on children, for example, currently standing at two kids for Judi, a newborn for Alyssa and a child-free life for Winter - but they would do anything for each other. Unfortunately, when tragedy strikes, nothing that they can do will mend the damage to their relationship - and then, even their parents get drawn into the maelstrom...
This is an acutely observed family drama, showcasing the dynamics between siblings as well as their relationship with their parents. The characters are well drawn and the circumstances are relatable, drawing the reader in. It gets 3.5 stars.

It took me a little while to get into this book but once I had assembled all my characters I was reading it really fast
Follows three sisters Winter, Judi and Alysessa all brought up by two loving parents and go on to have very different lives
Winter is a very well known actor in theatre, film, and Netflix productions she has no children but has lots of money and lavishly spends it on her family and sisters she lives in a beautiful estate with built in panic room as she has been stalked in past. Judi is with Phil they have Iris age 8 going on 28 but loved by all the family especially her aunts they also have Teddy age 4 sweet and cute but also very strong willed when he wants to be but also loved by aunts
Lastly Alysy the baby who herself has just had baby Claudia she is with her useless husband Frederico who does nothing to help her at all
The whole book revolves around the day of Judi and Phil’s wedding a very extravagant affair paid for by Winter but is also the day Teddy loses his life
How ? Why?
You gonna have to read this fabulous book to find out

A story of love and tragedy that pulls at heartstrings and has the continuing question of ‘What if’? Three sisters, all completely different in character adore each other and are always there for one another. That is, until tragedy strikes and one of their children dies in a terrible accident. One is blamed, one is torn and one the grieving mother. Their parents too are in turmoil as the horrific events threaten to split the family forever. As secrets and lies are revealed amid huge twists, will the family survive the tragedy at all? Saul, a detective tells his own story and he is something of a loner and oddball, despite his ability as a police officer. I thought the story was well written with characters that fitted the narrative. I felt Saul was a bit pointless however and although he had a small connection to the story I felt his part in the plot was somewhat unnecessary. Regardless, I enjoyed the book and while I guessed some twists, others were more shocking.

This was an interesting read about 3 sisters. Winter is the celebrity sister, Jen is the mother of two kids and Alyssa is a new mother of her baby. Winter throws Jen a wedding party in her coastal home, but tragedy strikes. I like the way this was written, the back story was good and it all came together at the end. The ending wasn’t what I expected, but really worked well with the plot. It’s a story full of lies and the truths coming out. A 4.5 star read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

This wasn’t quite what I expected but I found it incredibly compelling nonetheless. It may offer some psychological insight, but 'Some Of Us Are Liars' is really way more family drama than psychological thriller, in my opinion.
These three sisters couldn’t be more different from each other if they tried. Each one has their part to play in the sister dynamics. The self-centered one, the peacemaker, and the baby who never quite seems to fit in. Naturally, there is a slew of secrets and deception to be discovered. Some more obvious than others, but all will have an impact on the entire family.
I very much disliked the oldest sister, Winter. Even after learning more about her, I failed to feel empathy towards her. She came across as selfish, with no qualms about hurting any of the people around her, or making everything about her. I had an issue with the other two sisters letting her walk all over them, pushing her ideas onto them, with no regard for what they wanted. There were moments where I couldn’t quite relate to decisions that were made by the characters, and I am sure I would, without a doubt, not have been as forgiving as some.
I felt rather quickly that there was more to the story of what happened at the wedding. However, I never could have imagined the devastation and heartbreak that came with the conclusion. The court room proceedings that followed this unfortunate event left me with a lump in my throat on more than one occasion.
As for Saul. While his part in the Kellaway story is rather minimal, the impression he leaves behind is once again incredibly strong. Saul is becoming creepier and darker with each instalment in this series. His past actions are catching up with him. While most of 'Some Of Us Are Liars' is a stand-alone story, Saul’s most certainly is not. You should really read the previous books to find out how he got here, what makes him tick (Ha! Good luck with that.), and how far towards the dark side he could possibly go. I say "could", and not "willing" because it's just something that feels inevitable somehow. He is an impossible character to like, but his chapters serve as a great contrast to the closeness and protectiveness of the Kellaway family.
There was a sense of foreboding and yet, I wasn’t prepared for that penultimate chapter. It chilled me to the bone and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Some Of Us Are Liars is a dark family drama that I couldn’t put down.
The book is centred around three women over different timelines. The first is of a family that has a drunk for a father and likes to serve out abuse. The second is of a normal family with three daughters and the dynamics of their time growing up and the third is now. Jen is married and has two children but is going to get married in front of all her friends and family curtesy of her eldest sister. Whilst Jen and her husband wait for their family to arrive including their children tragedy strikes and life for the three sisters will never be the same again. Saul is the investigating officer of this tragedy and some things aren’t quite adding up.
This was a great read, this will be another top seller for Fiona Cummins for sure. The characters and the storyline are great and the way the timelines twist together was very clever and well thought out, well I didn’t get it! Saul is a nice recurrence but I wish he was present a little more than he was. A dark drama that I couldn’t put down.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Pan MacMillan for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoyably dark, Some of Us Are Liars takes us into a complex world where a family are pulled apart by a tragic event which is the catalyst for horrific revelations, past secrets and lies that could burn them all. Believable and deftly drawn, this kept me hooked throughout.
With a main detective who has his own secrets and is traumatised by them, these two dark storylines lead to an immersive read

A close-knit family is rocked to its core when one of them is held responsible for the death of a child. As the circumstances around the death are investigated shocking secrets are discovered.
Author Fiona Cummins has written another sure-fire bestseller with Some Of Us Are Liars. I was immediately gripped by the intriguing opening pages and then found I couldn't put the book down, I had to know what had transpired. Obviously, with a title including the word liars you know that there will be secrets people are desperate to stop being uncovered, the enjoyment is in trying to spot them. Skilled writers like Fiona Cummins have this knack of keeping you dangling until the very end.
Jen Miller is close to both her elder sister Winter and her younger sister Alyssa. Not only do all three share a strong bond but their homes are close together and Jen and Alyssa's husbands work together. Life is perfect, and much of that is thanks to the fact that there are no money worries as the eldest sister Winter is a successful actress who has shared her success with her family.
Jen and her husband Phil snuck away and married in secret, much to the annoyance of the rest of the family. Winter insists on throwing a lavish party so they can reaffirm their vows in front of friends and family. It is during this party that disaster strikes and Jen's young son, Teddy, is killed, with Alyssa being held responsible. How does such a devoted family come to terms with such a tragic event?
The story is told from different perspectives, and time periods, with the majority of the story focusing on Jen and Alyssa. It is incredibly easy to understand Jen's emotional state as she swings from the excitement of being centre of attention on such a momentous day to dealing with the agony of losing a child. Alongside this, we see the guilt both Winter and Alyssa feel. As the story moves between the different characters it becomes clear that quite a few of them are hiding secrets and you begin to wonder if this ideal, loving family is as perfect as it initially seemed. There is also the intrigue as to how the seemingly unrelated and disturbing events from the past fit into the tale.
DS Saul Anguish does feature quite a bit as he deals with his own relationship and a secret investigation the Chief Constable has asked him to carry out. The two threads do combine but Saul isn't the main part of this story as the focus is primarily on the three sisters and how they struggle to come to terms with the harrowing event and its aftermath, a situation that has the ability to tear apart families.
Secrets, grief, murder and a stalker all combine to keep you gripped. I did manage to figure out one of the secrets but that really only scratched the surface in this complex and shocking story.
