When Avery brings her friend Nora home to join them for their luxurious annual vacation on Mokani Island, holiday hotspot for the decidedly privileged, the last thing she expects is for everything to go wrong.
Her best friend's acting weird, her ex boyfriend even weirder, and Nora's excessive interest in the business of others perhaps weirdest of all. And they aren't the only ones with secrets, because her parents aren't behaving normally either. What is going on?!
An enjoyable read that provides plenty of entertainment this gets 3.5 stars and is well worth checking out.

How the Other Half Die is a sun-drenched thriller laced with scandal, suspense and simmering secrets. Set on the elite and glossy Mokani Island, this is not your average holiday read – beneath the palm trees and poolside cocktails lies a storm of betrayal, obsession and murder.
Avery Finch’s annual escape to paradise takes a dark turn when she invites her college roommate Nora along. With a cast of characters that includes jaded exes, secretive best friends and brooding staff members, the drama quickly begins to bubble over. Nora’s outsider status makes her the perfect lens through which to view the tightly-wound island elite – and it’s clear she’s not welcome.
Roscoe masterfully creates a tension-filled atmosphere, pairing luxury with unease. Every character has something to hide, and as a tropical storm barrels in, the island’s carefully guarded facade starts to crack. The slow reveal of truths and tangled relationships makes for an addictive and claustrophobic reading experience.
This book delivers escapism with a dark edge. Glamorous, gripping and full of twists, How the Other Half Die is a sharp reminder that even paradise can be deadly.

Set on an paradise island around four rich families and numerous invisible staff this book is for White Lotus fans. It's an incredibly interesting book with lots of secrets to be uncovered. I loved it, it kept me up all night reading. It has an amazing ending too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a fun murder/mystery... it's a lot different from my usual choice of book but I am glad I decided to read this!
I liked how we switched from different POVs and the suspense was keeping me engaged with the book.
Over all a solid 4 star read and I would certainly read more from this author as I feel the book is really well written.
I would agree that this gives White Lotus vibes but really does stand its own and deserves its own recognition.

This was like White Lotus for teens. I am usually not one of murder/mystery but this title was very intriguing with the big White Lotus craze and looking for something different to read/acquire than my ususal genre. It had glamour, suspense, mystery, and intrigue and I was hooked wanting to know what happens next. Wouldn’t be surprised if it gets picked to for a series on TV targeting teens
