This book was a wild ride. It had me gripped since the very start and had me guessing the whole way through. This was a really easy but exciting read for me and I can’t wait to see what happens next
Stevie Diaz is working her job as a 911 dispatcher, when she answers a call from a woman feeling for her life. Panicking she realises it’s someone from her past when she hears a gun shot and the call suddenly drops. Now determined to find out what happened to her estranged friend, Stevie will stop at nothing to find out the truth

This book really hooked me in from the start. Imagine being a 911 operator and you answer a call late one night that turns out to be your estranged childhood friend in trouble. I was sucked in immediately.
While I waited for the mystery to be solved, I realized I was stuck in the midst of a love triangle that started to take over the narrative. I can’t say I liked how the main character was acting in regard to her “romantic” situation. Let’s just say I felt bad for her husband (without saying too much here).
The ending that I was waiting for finally came and it was a tad rushed and lackluster. There were so many other interesting components to Andy’s story that turned out to be unrelated to the ultimate cause of her…situation.
I kept reading because I was invested in the mystery. I decidedly turned a bit against Stevie based on her actions aside from the mystery. But still I was compelled to finish the book and is a sequel comes out I’d probably give it a shot. Thank you #NetGalley and #supergravitypressllc for the chance to read an ARC of this book early.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!
In the Woods Somewhere by Sam Evans starts off with a bang and a missing person. The main character, Stephanie Diaz, is bound and determined to figure out who did it. The story was entertaining and the suspense was intense (for me). It was a solid read. Stephanie is a complex character with some complex relationships (some I didn't quite understand) but overall a good book.

I was immediately hooked by the beginning of In the Woods Somewhere. The premise—a 911 operator receives a call from someone they know who’s in danger, only for the call to abruptly drop—sets up a tense and intriguing mystery right from the start. The writing is accessible and engaging, with shorter chapters that kept the pace moving and made it easy to stay invested.
While it starts off as a compelling suspense, the story becomes more complex than a simple chase for answers. The character of Stevie has a layered past that begins to unravel in unexpected ways, adding depth to the narrative.
However, as the book progressed, the focus seemed to shift more heavily toward the romantic subplot. While I enjoy romantic suspense and appreciated the chemistry between the characters, I found that the mystery began to take a backseat. The shift in balance made the pacing feel uneven, and both the suspense and romance threads felt somewhat unresolved by the end.
Overall, In the Woods Somewhere had a strong start and interesting character development, especially with Stevie. It felt like the beginning of a larger story, and I would have liked to see a more complete resolution on both the mystery and romance fronts.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

i was hooked straight into this book. can you imagine being the call operator. you take a call and its someone you know fleeing from danger. only the call is dropped....!!! yes please im in.
this is a mystery thriller with extra heart. we meet Stevie. Stevie feels like she is plodding in life, everything is just meh. but a phone call takes her life to a full throttle turn of secrets and lies and not just the ones she is telling herself. Stevie is one determined woman. and she wont stop until she unveils the truth. but that will put her at risk. shes putting herself in danger and not stopping. what will come of her when the truths come out and can she keep herself safe in order to make that happen. because for a woman that wants the truth she is certainly finding herself hiding from the ones shes telling.
this book was so much more complex than a mystery chase. the character of Stevie has so much more to unravel herself. i knew id root for this woman and i wasnt even sure why at times! because i wanted to stop her and shake her in moments. but i also wanted to know more about her and also the things she was uncomvering.
this was such a unique book to me and took it up a notch in terms of the depth of content. it had a good breath of everything.

I loved this book, all the elements were there for a great thriller, who done it book. It was easy to read, the chapter were semi short, and the story was great. I read this in an evening setting in just a few hours. Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read this book, I highly recommend for other readers.

I loved the start of this book! Such a great hook to get you caught up in a new mystery! The plot of a 911 operator fielding a call from a long lost friend in which the call is dropped. So good! I am a huge fan of romantic suspense and the underlying romance is always fun.
But about half way through the romance took over and the mystery was on the back burner. This was marketed as a mystery with an undertow of romance. Which it struggled on both fronts. They mystery is so good and the romance takes the book off track and then the mystery plot is lost and rushed. At the same time the romance had no ending either.
This book feels like the first half of a book.
I was so excited for this and then it was a bit disappointing. So sad.
