Thank you NetGalley for giving me an early copy of this book.
A Sporting Affair follows the story of a couple who's forced to get married after an accidental awkward situation. The story is narrated in third person which I enjoyed and is really well written. However, I did get bored at parts and skipped full paragraph. Something about the inner monologue of the characters felt unpersonal to me and I couldn't connect to anything they were saying. The romance was okay, very cute.
In general, not a bad book but nothing incredible either.

The story is entertaining. The plot connects with the main characters objective. The characters are charming and entertaining. I like that the writer provided humor in the story to weigh out some of the heavier moments. I will admit some moments of the story I did struggle with focusing on the story. Some of the wording or quotes from the book lost my tracking the story. Again, the book has its moments of an entertaining book.

This one just didn't get me hooked for some reason. It could have been the writing style or something else, but I just couldn't get through it.

I have to admit, this particular romance was not for me. I can see how it could be enjoyable for others, however! Someone will love it! I liked the characters enough to finish. very cute.

A lot more editing, a little bit more spark and this book would be really good. As its stands the book was okay. The protagonists had some fun dialogue and moments together.
Okay read.

Poor Rafe! Who's the young lady he caught in his bedroom and who screamed when she saw him?
LOL As usual for a Paullett Golden romance, the novel is as witty and comedy-filled as you may hope. This might be why Golden is one of my favorite authors for the romance genre.
So, back to Rafe's misadventures. He's told he "compromised" her - the novel is set in the 19th century after all - and that he has to marry her, but fortunately she has other plans... right?
You know, I might just stick to this new series while I work my (slow) way to reading more of The Enchantresses series.
Happy reading to anyone who chooses this book for good company.

This was unbelievably wordy. It really needed pruning. Most of the early opener was not needed and there was so much extraneous detail to wade through.

This book is about Rafe and Genevieve. I liked the setting and the event in town seemed fun. I enjoyed the banter between Genevieve and Rafe. However, Iafter a while Genevieve started to annoy me. To me it felt the romance was lacking something. A spark was missing. Despite that I did enjoy reading this book.
I received this book from NetGalley in return for a honest review

I love the author’s writing style except for the verbosity. The first three chapters could easily have been trimmed down to one. The same is true for the next three, after which I stopped reading. This would probably be a good book if it were slimmed down to a short novella.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.
