Dolly is One of a kind. She has a Unique Quality that can never be duplicated. I have come to love and respect her so much since moving to the South. She really is such a smart, intelligent, and talented woman who deserves all her success. Love that she has a Foundation that Gives Free Books to Children in Need. That is Fantastic. Beautiful Cover and love the Colors and Illustrations in the Book.
Thank You Applesauce Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this book. I leave reviews for all copies of books I read.

Did I just read a children’s books about Dolly Parton? Yes I absolutely did! I will never pass up a chance to learn more about Dolly and this books was so cute and had some info I did not know! Thanks NetGallery!

I love any and all biographies aimed at kids, especially for Queen Dolly.
The illustrations are very cute and the layout with key dates is simple yet effective for the target audience.

Everyone loves Dolly and Dolly loves children so this book is a perfect match. What better way to teach young children about the lady that sends free books to children every month through her Imagination Library. The story can grow with children as they learn more but at a very early age they will love the bright colors and cute drawings in the book. It covers all her songs starting when she was a young girl to the Porter Wagner days and beyond. It Talks about her movies. Shows Dollywood. It also includes just a few of the many awards she has earned through the years. Parents need to share Dolly with their children.

What a sweet, informative, lovely book with charming illustrations. I'd give it to a child or for a fun gift for anyone of any age who loves Dolly.

This is a cute first introduction to Dolly Parton. There is interesting information and engaging pictures. I learned a lot from reading this simple biography. Great for young readers!

✨ A BIG, sparkly thank you to Amanda Sobotka, Cider Mill Press and NetGalley for the chance to read Baby Biographies: Dolly Parton. I will share my review to Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble upon release. I read in digital format.
✨ This was so adorable! From the color schemes, the art, to the story of Dolly herself, I thought this book was such a cute intro for kids. As a fan of Dolly Parton, I am excited whenever I get a chance to share Dolly's story and talents with those I love. I can't wait to get a physical copy for my nieces and nephews to enjoy. Her story is so admirable and her personality is second to none.
✨ I'd definitely recommend to anyone who wants to share their fandom of Dolly with the little ones in their life! Super cute. Thanks again!
5/5 stars! ✨

💓Now you can share your love of Dolly with your littles!
💬 This sweet book is marketed towards 1-3 year olds, but I would totally buy this for my elementary-aged daughter as a fun and informative book for her shelf.

This review is totally different than my normal content (romance), but I am a huge Dolly Parton fan. When I saw the opportunity to review Baby Biographies: Dolly Parton: My Baby’s Introduction to the Queen of Country by Amanda Sobotka, I requested it from NetGalley right away.
Things I love about Baby Biographies: Dolly Parton-
-The illustrations are beautiful.
-The book has an uplifting almost whimsical feel to it.
-The facts presented about Dolly were interesting and covered many of her accomplishments in life.
-This book will appeal to Dolly fans young and old.
-This book would make a nice gift for any Dolly fan.
My suggestion:
-Consider issuing this as a book marketed to older children. If I were purchasing a book for my infant or toddler, I’d look for light and predictable text (think Goodnight Moon or anything by Sandra Boynton). Words like philanthropic, status quo, genres, creative risks, boundaries, and pioneer will sail way over a preschooler’s head. I could see an older elementary school student using this for their living museum or research project.
Main take-aways-
-Dolly is INCREDIBLE. She’s accomplished and overcome so much in her lifetime. This book does a great job of highlighting some of her biggest achievements.
-I’d love to see even more information included (1988-2004 is a big gap), but I assume the author was attempting to keep it short for the intended audience, which is appropriate.
-Simplify this story if it will be issued for the 1-3 crowd. Take out the impact section or re-format it so the top section is for the littles and the bottom section has info for the bigs who are reading it to their child.
I am writing this review as a mom, an avid reader, an educator, and a total Dolly fan-girl! Thank you for the opportunity to review Baby Biographies: Dolly Parton.
Thank you to NetGalley, Cider Mill Press/Applesauce Press and Amanda Sobotka for the review copy. This book will be available July 8, 2025. #BabyBiographiesDollyParton #NetGalley.

This is such a cute little picture book biography of Dolly Parton, one of the nicest and most successful public figures. Dolly isn't just a singer, she has written popular songs for other singers and she's a philanthropist. She's also modest and lives a normal life.

This book introduces Dolly Parton's incredible contributions to the music industry in a way that is easily accessible to readers of all ages. Her greatest hits are highlighted and can be easily looked up for a listen-along.
This series has great illustrations full of vibrant colors that add a lot of visual interest and draw in young readers.

Thanks to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for a digital copy of this book; I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Dolly Parton is a GD QUEEN! I was so happy to see this series of books, catered to babies and toddlers. This was a charming look at Dolly Parton and her career. But there's also her philanthropy, which is also important to teach. The fact that someone decided that non-fiction books for babies besides ones about animals are important, too! Highly recommend.

Is there anyone who is as universally loved as Dolly Parton?! I loved this intro to Dolly for kids. Beautiful pictures and I love how the book highlights her philanthropic accomplishments as well as her many many entertainment accomplishments! This is great for any kid who loves Taylor Swift or music in general!

This book is beautiful and informative. The pictures are absolutely stunning and actually look like her and there’s not too much information contained on the pages that it would be too overwhelming for an early reader or a parent reading to their little ones while they absorb all the gorgeous colors. It gives details about Dolly’s multi-generational career and her achievements therein without being boastful.
A perfect book for a Dolly fan or parents to read to babies or early readers as it will appeal to people of all ages.
Thanks to Applesauce Press and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review

Review to come in July on blog/goodreads/other places.
I received this book from the publisher/Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
I just adore Dolly Parton and I adore books like this. Early reader books, but this one goes even earlier, to baby! I just love that they are making biographies for babies. Perfect!
However, I am just not entirely sure if I would recommend this for babies or toddlers. It is quite text heavy along with some words that I am not sure most kids would get (like status quo/gender equality/high school dropout rate/philanthropic for instance). What I had expected from a baby/toddler book is easy words to describe Dolly Parton, maybe some more interactive elements, like can you dance like Dolly or sing a little song or wear you most colourful outfit. Or maybe just let Dolly tell you all about it, akin to how the Miffy books are formatted. However as it is I am not entirely sure it will work. The first part could technically work (though the 2004 part definitely was just TOO much) and the songs are fun (though maybe a link to Spotify/another streaming service so you can immediately listen to them), but the impact section is really a bit too much.
I am guessing that there is a proper end to the book but my copy just cut off after 2018.
But good things, I did like how much information it contained, there were some things I didn't know, but most I knew (mostly because I recently read a book about Dolly). I loved the addition of the songs in a lot of the section. And I loved how the book was formatted. One illustration and then some text. I loved the pages with text how they were colourful and bright and had cute little stars and other things on them.
The art was really fun, I love the style and I love seeing Dolly in various ages and various outfits.
All in all though. As it is I really enjoyed it so I would like to give it 4 stars. However for a baby/toddler book? I will give it a 2. So let's go for 2.5? It is not necessary that the book is bad, but I just question the baby/toddler classification.

Thank you netgalley for this arc.
This is a great biography for kids.
Beautiful pictures to look at, interesting facts.
There is even some bits that are written in capital letters so it wll be easier for kids to read themselves.
A great book for a 1-4 year old.
Would recomend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for the electronic advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review!
This book is beautifully illustrated. It represents Dolly’s life so well! I read this to some little ones in my family and they loved how beautiful the book was. They oohed and awed over all of the illustrations and colors. Some of the writing is definitely more complex but definitely a good capture of her life. A wrap up or summary page would have been nice to end it.
Definitely plan to buy for some Dolly loving family of mine!

Great biography for pre-k-1 or as a shared reading experience with smaller kids. It’s organized well with highlight feature and childlike illustrations. Very accessible and will make a great series! Dolly Parton is a strong start for entertainer/singer category. I truly hope this series comes out in hardback and not just board book- it will be a great way to introduce biographies to littles, and board books will be hard to “sell” to kids in a library who are olde than pre-k.

First off, Dolly Parton is a queen.
The art in this book is sooo good! It's whimsical and perfect for young readers. While obviously Dolly has accomplished a lot, this didn't even include all her philanthropic efforts. She's an excellent role model and I'm glad to see a book sing her praises.

A totally charming read.
Baby Biographies: Dolly Parton I was given in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley.
Interestingly, the story of the Coat of Many Colours was not covered. Instead, this is a whistle-stop look at Dolly's life. The illustrations are fantastic.
One star lost because Coat of Many Colours encapsulates Dolly's life. Otherwise, a masterpiece for young children learning English!

I loved the illustrations! I do think this book gave some good info about Dolly. I would happily gift this to a baby girl so that she knows girls can rule the world.
I do think this would mostly be fun for parents to read to the babies, but I'd still love to have it on my shelf.
