3.75 stars
This was a nice cozy read. I liked the character development and enjoyed the slow burn romance between Lexi and Heath.
But they were lot of inconsistencies in the story that took the book from a 4 star to a 3.75 for me.
I also didn’t like how the sex scenes fell flat, nonetheless it was a good storyline and I couldn’t put it down till I finished it
Thank you Netgalley and Headline for this Arc

Lexi is only back in town because Ashley asked her. Her mum has left them tasks to sort out as part of her will,so will Lexi stay or will high school nemesis Heath make her want to leave again.

I was sad to see that this is the last in the Sunrise Cove series, as I have loved reading them all. In this final book, Lexi reluctantly returns home to face the ghosts of her past along with her half sister Ashley and childhood neighbour Heath. Lexi’s late mother asks for letters and money to be delivered to make reparations for her past actions and this leads to the three going on both a literal and emotional journey together. Along the way they learn more about themselves, Lexi’s mother and each other. The book left me reflecting on the importance of looking beneath the surface and not making assumptions about people. There’s a slow burn romance between Lexi and Heath, but for me the book is more about the interaction between the three main characters as they come to understand that Lexi’s mother played a very different role in all their lives.

What a beautiful story. It deals with h the relationship between two sisters and a lot of looking back into their past. It really was an emotional read but, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I loved this book! I found this book really heartwarming as Lexi comes back to Sunrise Cove and back together with her stepsister Ashley and her childhood nemesis Heath as she is there to honour her late mother’s wish. I loved that even though Lexi found it hard to come back to Sunrise Cove she does so to help out her stepsister Ashley with delivering letters that their mum left for a number of different people. I loved the relationship between the two sisters that even though in some ways they are different they both love each other and want to be there for each other too as well as having fun along the way. I loved how Heath was there for each of the sisters but in a very different way for each of them. I loved Heath’s family too, his grandpa was just a hoot and just said it like it was but he was also a lot of fun too. I loved Heath’s brother Cole and his family, his wife Misty and his son Matty who was absolutely hilarious as he was just wild but cute. I also loved Heath’s dog Mayhem who just sounded like the most hilarious but adorable dog that you just couldn’t help but love. I just loved this book!
I would highly recommend reading this book if you love a heartwarming read with absolutely amazing characters.
I would like to thank Headline Eternal and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.

At the heart of the novel is Lexi, a woman scarred by a lifetime of disappointment from a mother who seemed more absent than nurturing. Her mother’s death reopens old wounds—but also opens the door to unexpected healing, through a series of letters that pull Lexi back to the one place she never thought she’d return. There, she must face both her estranged sister Ashley and Heath, the man who once stirred her heart.
Lexi is a compelling, layered character—guarded and understandably skeptical, but yearning for something more. Her emotional journey feels authentic as she grapples with grief, betrayal, and the possibility of rebuilding the relationships she once gave up on. Ashley, in contrast, brings a sunny optimism and determination that masks her own secrets and motivations. She’s not just the cheerful sister—she’s a woman with her own version of pain and hope, hoping desperately to create the family she missed out on.
Heath, ever the caretaker, is kind and reliable to a fault. His tendency to prioritize everyone else’s happiness over his own sets up a quietly powerful subplot about self-worth and emotional boundaries. His chemistry with Lexi is slow-burn and believable, rooted in shared history, tension, and unresolved feelings. The emotional weight of the characters’ pasts is balanced by the warmth of their present connections. The letters from their mother serve as a catalyst for truth, healing, and unexpected revelations, giving the story depth and resonance.
This is a heartfelt, character-driven story filled with sorrow, redemption, and hope. It’s about finding love—not just romantically, but in family and in oneself.

The Love Fix is your typical Jill Shalvis story: small-town romance, an FMC who is snarky and funny, a protective MMC who falls hard, some secondary characters that are fun, with an overall lovely story about people finding their way to themselves and to each other.
While I really enjoyed it, I also grew a bit impatient with Lexie near the end.
The Love Fix is a great ending to the Sunrise Cove series. Jill Shalvis writes some of the coziest, feel-good small-town romances.

This was an empowering and emotional read. A lot of moments where you were captivated and pulled in, heartbroken but also heart so full moments. It was beautifully written and just overall, a wonderful read. You honestly lose yourself into the story and just relate so hard to Lexi and her struggles, seeing yourself in her and just rooting for things to get better for her after going through so much when younger.

Oh wow! This book really touched me. As I turned every page I was pulled in more and more. Such a complex set of relationships, Lexi and Ashley are sisters but not by blood, and they didn’t grow up together, yet they are such great sisters, Ashley trying really hard to stay connected to Lexi, who has so much baggage about her childhood that it has its own hand luggage. Then cue Heath. Lexi’s childhood rival and neighbour but also Ashley's best friend in adulthood.
This was a great story, the unravelling plot of Daisy, Lexi’s mom and Ashley’s step mom and even Heaths sort of foster mom. They all saw different sides of her and as they spend time with each other again fulfilling Daisy’s final wishes they each get to see the impact these differences had on others. Heath was amazing in how he helped Ashley and Lexi, even when she thought she didn’t want it. Not having had the best childhood either, Heath couldn’t understand why Lexi hated her mom, especially when she was such a beacon of light in his childhood. Slowly he realises why and he is able to support Lexi, just as she uncovers things about Heaths childhood she never knew which alters how she thinks about him.
The chemistry is amazing between them, enemies to lovers, but I liked how they took the time to stop and examine their feelings and consequences. Once they both opened their hearts to each other and the prospect of love they were unstoppable.
A great end to the series, and really nice feel good book that stayed with me long after I finished reading.

Jill knows how to write. and she certainly knows how to steal our time and then our hearts with her books. i cannot tell you the smile that comes when i realise one of her books is on my TBR list and coming up to read next. she has such skill, such talent to writing the books she does. you are completely and all at once drawn into the world she builds for us. we are then rooting or feeling all the feels for the places and people she allow us to meet along the way. this book was no different. and i loved getting to meet this new set of people and the bonds in particular in this book is something i saw as a common lovely theme. you are left warmed by this book and just like her others you are so often left smiling too.
this book brings us to Lexi who has come home to Sunrise Cove, and its been a whole while since she was last here and that was done with purpose. shes come home at the asking of her sister Ashley. but this also means coming back to a man she really doesn't want to have to face again, Heath. but they have a job to do from Lexi's mother. she wants them to, after her death go and delivery letters and money to those she effected during her years of gambling and unrest much of which effect Lexi so much to the point she could no longer live with her mother. so this journey wont be easy for Lexi. its going to be bring a lot up to the surface for her once again.
Jill did a wonderful job of getting the balance right in this book. she struck the chords of what living with someone with addiction can be like and how you carry that especially if things are left somewhat unresolved.
i loved going on the journeys of our characters both on their own and then how they interacted with each other. the parts between Heath and Lexi has me grinning so much. yes they both had their suitcases they needed to unpack but boy did we root for them.
another fab book by a fab author.

"The Love Fix" by Jill Shalvis is the final book in the "Sunrise Cover" series.
You do not need to read the other books first as they are interconnected standalones.
I received an advance review copy from Headline.
Opinions from this review are completely my own.
What you can expect:
- friends to lovers
- second chance romance
- small town
- slow burn
- found family
This is a sweet and emotional story.
Lexi comes back to Sunrise Cove to help her sister Ashley, but her former crush Heath is also waiting for her ar the airport.
Their mother's request was that they hand deliver 6 envelops (one per week) from her, a year after her death.
Lexi and Heath did not have a good childhood and both have trust issues.
I liked that they slowly opened up and discussed about the past.
There is such good banter between them and the romance develops nice and slowly.
It helped that Ashley wanted them to get together and meddled a bit.
Ashley is such a sweet character that wanted to fix her relationship with her sister and help her be happy.
The story has a dual POV and is written in 3rd person.
I did not read any of the other books in the series, but I would like to.

Lexi Clark never planned to come back to Sunrise Cove, but when her stepsister begs for help fulfilling their late mother’s final wish, she reluctantly returns, only to be thrown into a road trip with Heath Bowman, the boy who once drove her mad and now looks infuriatingly good doing it. Tasked with repaying the debts their mother left behind, Lexi and Heath set off across the state, facing awkward motel stays, long-forgotten family secrets, and emotions Lexi thought she’d buried for good. Between the heartbreak and the hilarious detours, she finds something unexpected: a sense of belonging, a second chance with the people she pushed away, and maybe even the kind of love she never believed in.

Thank you to Headline and NetGalley for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This was such an enjoyable read and my first book by Jill Shalvis, and definitely will not be my last. I immediately found myself invested in the story, especially in Heath and Lexi. They loosely reminded me of Noelle and Theo from You, With a View by Jessica Joyce; childhood nemesis’s with a one-sided dislike that slowly unravels into something more, with sharp banter, undeniable chemistry, and great tension throughout. I loved the dynamic that Heath and Lexi had; the way their history wove through their present. The glimpses into their shared past alongside the people they had grown into was really nice to see.
Yes, this was messy and chaotic at times, but in the best way. It captured the reality of how unpredictable life can be; how grief, loss, and parental abandonment leave lasting marks that shape who we are, and Lexi was the epitome of that. I Jill didn’t shy away from the difficult emotions in telling their story, and navigated them in an honest, sometimes messy, but ultimately really profound way. You could truly feel the weight of what both Heath and Lexi had been through and how those experiences shaped their choices, fears, and their bond.
The side characters were just as entertaining and added warmth, humour, and some really touching moments to the story. I especially like to Heath’s grandpa, and his dog, Mayhem!
Overall, this was heartfelt, funny, emotional, and uplifting, and I’m so glad I picked this up.

I really enjoyed reading this series so far and I’m so excited to say the last book featuring Lexi was such a good read! I could relate so much to her and her life falling apart but making to make the best out of it and find love along the way. I truly think this is such an inspiring and relatable feel good series. I have loved Jill Shalvis as an author for a long time. Eagerly will be anticipating her next book.
