I always find it amazing that someone can work on something they can't do in their own life. This is the case with the protagonist of this book. We follow this woman who, due to her past, causes all the relationships she has to tend to to dissolve—I confess I laughed a lot at this. The story grabbed me by the collar the moment her ex-fiancé showed up. The two have an inexplicable chemistry. And the message is that apologizing isn't always enough, that there are things we do to people that leave a lasting impression even with our apologies.
This is a mature, sensitive book, with a couple that captivated me.
Thank you NetGalley and the author for the eARC.
