carissa broadbent has such a way with words – i’m in love with her writing style. it’s so fluid, lyrical, and immersive that i felt pulled into the story from the very first chapter. i knew very little about the plot or the magic system before going in, and honestly? that made the experience even better
i was so pleasantly surprised by how unique and layered the magic was, and how it intertwined with the world building. everything felt intricate but never overwhelming – just the right balance to keep me intrigued and wanting to learn more
the characters were another highlight for me. they’re written with so much depth, and i found myself invested in all of them. but i have to give a special mention to max – the broody, closed-off mmc who completely stole the spotlight for me. he’s the kind of character you just feel everything with – all the quiet intensity, all the emotion simmering under the surface. i loved watching his relationship with tisanah unfold
and that ending? wow. i wasn’t prepared, and it left me both satisfied and desperate for more. it perfectly set the stage for what’s to come while delivering such an emotional punch
overall, daughter of no worlds was such an incredible start to the series. between the addictive writing, the fascinating magic, the rich world building, and the characters who have firmly claimed a place in my heart, i can already tell this series will be a favorite

Daughter of No Worlds is a fantastic opening book to the War of Lost Hearts series. The plot grabbed me straight away and I really felt for the two main characters, FMC Tisaanah and MMC Max. Both of their stories tugged at the heart strings and I loved their slow burn, strangers-to-friends-to-love arc. It wasn't overly spicy (one scene) but it was an emotional journey. I'm definitely going to be finishing off the series!
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy from Pan Macmillan and NetGalley but this is my voluntary and honest review.

I will start this off by saying Carissa Broadbent is one of my absolute favourite authors but that doesn't stop me from giving honest reviews (hopefully not too biased)
Saying that. This book absolutely gets 5 stars from me.
Tisannah is one of my favourite FMCs, she is brave beautiful despite what may be thought about her looks and just honestly so funny.
Max - my fav grumpy guy. "Breath takingly functional" never thought those words would go together but boy does he may you swoon.
The character development, the magic, the story. incredible.
Also I absolutely love how Tisannah not speaking the language as her first language is portrayed, it really shows it not as a trivial background thing, spoken about once and never brought up again, she gets words wrong, doesn't know the words for everyday things and gets grammar wrong. I think it's written so well.
I loved every second, never felt bored and boy that cliff hanger at the end...
Carissa Broadbent, you did it again 👌👌
