Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Oni Press for the gifted e-book! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.

Read this book if you like: Great artwork, fun informative reads

I loved this so much. I was very happy to see polyamory in it. It was very informative and helpful. It gave perspective on a lot of stuff. I highly recommend getting it in December!

I think this would be an amazing book for older kids/young teenagers (like 12/13). It’ll help them understanding identities, how to function in relationships, hold people accountable and walk away from toxic and abusive relationships. I love this so much and will definitely be giving to my kid when older.

Thank you so much.

A Quick and Easy Guide to Healthy Relationships is exactly what it says it is, as a graphic novel guide it obviously has a target audience but I would argue that anyone of any age can benefit from it. The graphic style makes it easy to follow and stay engaged even if the book has you reconsidering your own actions in the past which can be uncomfortable - but the art style acts as safe context to consider these factors within.

The tone throughout is thoughtprovoking but gentle in the way it nudges you as a reader to consider potentially uncomfortable questions - like were you guilty of love bombing even if it was unintentional? And doesn't stick to just romantic relationships but offers perspective on work relationships too, like the age old work family tactic as well as what can be considered ab*se in the workplace, plus a golden question of are you really into that coworker or just lonely and they are the only person you see frequently?

This guide is truly accessible for any age and as said before, anyone of any age could benefit from reading it over a couple of times. I also appreciated how clear the setting out of warnings at the start was - and the disclaimer that not all relationships are healthy, while our perspectives and understanding of relationships is also often unrealistic. I also loved the representation of different minority groups through animals, it feels so inclusive without being exclusive and maintains the gentle tone throughout which really works.

The colours and artwork in this book are excellent, and it's well laid out, which makes it very easy to read. However, because it was such a quick guide to relationships of all types, I was left confused about who it was aimed at. Children? Teenagers? Neurodivergent people?

Thank you for the Arc Netgalley!

I think this is a very important topic, has always been and will always be. It was greatly shown how important it is to understand the situations, be aware of yourself and also conflicts if they occur, how to navigate relationships. Because not always is everything going great and healthy, so admitting that is the first step.
Also the illustrations and explanations were so good!

This book will no doubt help some see the ebb and flow of relationships. It sheds light on how friendships and love are not always cut and dry and they go through changes. It covers sensitive topics about sexuality, family, and abusive relationships in a manner that is respectful and not too detailed for shock value. This alone will put it in the hands of all kinds of people and Young adults and adults alike will take something from this book. When I first got this book I didnt know it was comic style and was pleasantly surprised the art work was very calming. I could tell a lot of thought is put into the scenes that are created with drawings.

Thank you to Oni Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!!

This was a cute little graphic novel about how to maintain positive relationships in your life. It explains when to let people go and how to apologize and recognize when you’re in the wrong. I can always appreciate learning about who to be a better friend to others and to myself.

This is a positive introduction to healthy relationships of all kinds. I'm not a huge fan of the anthropomorphic animal art-style, but the color palette is nice. We have others in this series in our collection and will be adding this one as well.

A masterpiece of compassion, information and artwork.
Tackling serious and complex topics about relationships (platonic/ romantic, family and with yourself) this book made sure to keep a light edge to it's work with the artwork and choice to demonstrate it all with humanoid animals.
I loved the idea to use the 'Animal kingdom' in the story.
So many situations were displayed and talked about that lead to the core of exploration, boundaries and knowing what is and isn't okay.

This was a quick and informative guide to many different relationships including family, romance, work and community.

I like that this book mentioned:
Sexuality can change
Romance in the media is unrealistic
Descriptions of lovebombing and potential reprecussions
Excitement wanes in long term relationships
Alone time is important
Friendship breakups

I didn't like:
Family issues were glossed over
Mentions of abusive family didn't offer any coping, just said that you're not alone
Only touched on negative workplace relationships
No advice on healthy communication in workplace for problem solving

That being said, I understand it is a quick guide and can't go super in depth on any topics. I will definitely be buying it for my library collection and think it has great tips for everyone, but especially teens.
