This is a great thriller with a moral dilemma at the heart of the story. When a group of friends find a bag of money in a cave whilst away for the weekend, the situation quickly spirals out of control and secrets buried deeply start to come to the fore.
Helen, the woman who finds the bag and the main narrator is not keen to keep the money but after much discussion she is overruled and the group swear each other to secrecy whilst investigating where it has come from and take it home with them.
Relationships between the characters begin to fracture as each person has their own vision of what to spend the money on. Helen’s mother is in need of residential care and that does not come cheap whilst others have their own use for the apparent windfall. However, what if someone comes looking for the cash? As the plot thickens with many twists, I just could not put the book down.
I’m a big fan of T.M. Logan and have read all of his books. “The Weekend” was right up there, an edge of your seat read with some great characters. I raced through the novel very quickly and have no hesitation in recommending it as an excellent page turner.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my advance copy.
