How do you recover when life kick-boxes your soul?

Becca Gable is fighting to stay on her feet after a series of crushing losses. She’s always been the good girl until the events of the past year push her to make a mistake she can’t take back. Now, her corporate finance job and her fiancé are gone thanks to her newly-acquired criminal record.

Shane Marlow survived an IED blast during his service in Iraq—but half his team did not. Physically healed, he returns to his home county as a K9 officer. The scars of loss run deep and though local folks admire him, no one truly gets him—until Becca literally lands in front of him.

Their bond of shared tragedy evolves into a connection both fiery and healing. But a stalker decides that Becca’s crime should stay front and center. As the unsettling episodes reveal that no part of her life is secret, Shane is all that stands between her and the enemy.

Falling into Right by Sharon Kay
Redemption County #2

Another wonderful book in this delightful series set in Redemption County, Illinois!

Becca Gable did something that changed her life forever. Unable to work in the field she trained for she has taken up a new job way under her skill set, paid the fine required by the court and is moving on to the best of her ability. As she is leaving the courthouse she slips, falls and lands at the feet of Shane Marlow and his K-9 partner, Denver. Shane is a hunk and a half, a war hero, a cop, a hottie and all around nice guy with the whole alpha thing going on that was splendid to read about and for Becca to experience. Becca is a sweetie, good friend, beautiful, open and honest with an openness and charm that was fun to read about and for Shane to experience. Shane has a bit of PTSD and Becca is dealing with a bad year and the fallout from what she has experienced – the two are there for one another, accepting of each other and feel stronger together.

The two should not meet again after seeing one another in the courthouse but when Shane shows up on her doorstep with Denver to return something she dropped things change…a bit…and then change more when they serendipitously meet again at his sister’s bar. Well, one date leads to another and another and boy do the two get along well together socially, emotionally and sensually (fanning myself here thinking about one scene in particular). Their relationship flows easily and it all feels “real” to me. Of course Becca has an evil stalker bothering her that has to eventually be dealt with and I had a pretty good idea who it was but all in all this was a book I could not put down once I started reading. I would love to have Becca and Shane as friends and live in their town. I REALLY liked this story and only bumped it down a bit in my rating because of the predictableness of who the stalker was.

Thank you to the author who bequeathed an ARC of this book to me through NetGalley – This is my honest review.

The second book in the series, and we met Shane Marlow deputy sheriff and Denver his German Shepard in the first book. He is wanting to go through each day without being noticed as a hero as he was described years ago in the local paper. Seeing a woman slip and fall in the county court house he goes to help her up and gather her items and he is taken by her beauty. Becca Gable cannot feel anymore embarrassed about this day and how her life has turned out. Now seeing and being helped by a hansom Deputy. She can only wish she could get back into dating after her fiancé dumped her. Shane ends up going to her home later that evening because he found her driver’s license, and this begins little runs in until they finally go on a date. They each have secrets that have not shared with others including their close friends. They find that they are good for each other and Denver really takes to her. When letters appear at her work, home, and he figures that she is being stalked they must figure out who is doing it and why? A very good story with good love scenes and a little bit of mystery. Overall a good book.

Falling Into Right is wonderful, sexy read with strong emotional issues and fabulous characters. I was annoyed to realise that once again I have stumbled upon what promises to be a great series, yet I’ve missed the first book! Looks like I’ll be going shopping.

But back to Falling Into Right; Becca is a tragic character with a wealth of grief, guilt and self-doubt while struggling to get her life on track, while our hero Shane bears the deep emotional scars of war and the pain of having survived when many of his comrades fell. But the real star of this heart-wrenching story is Denver, Shane’s K-9 buddie and all round best dog ever!

Falling Into Right is a passionate, heartbreaking rollercoaster ride that will make you laugh, cry and hold your breath hoping for a HEA.

Shane and Becca both have painful experiences in their past, but both are sweet, thoughtful, and loving despite it all.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading every moment of their story from the meet cute through to the epilogue. It is one of the first books in awhile in which I connected with both the protagonists equally. The story moves quickly, but at no point does the relationship seem forced or fake.

This is the second in a series but can be read as a stand-alone. I hadn't read anything by Sharon Kay before, but look forward to checking out some of her other books!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I was given a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This story was so very good. It deals with what are unfortunately everyday issues like depression, survivors guilt, and PTSD and it does so in the form of a wonderful love story. Sharon Kay wrote the heck out of this story! This is probably one of my faves by her!
Shane came home a hero, but at what cost? He still has a very hard time dealing with the loss of most of his team in Iraq. He has Denver, his K-9 partner and his sister Rosie and his new little niece, but his life is definitely missing something.
Becca literally falls into his life one day and that starts the beginning of an amazing new chapter in both of their lives. They have incredible chemistry and more in common than either of them realizes at first. They are a really good match both in and out of the bedroom. They are both trying to get over the losses they have suffered in their past and finding each other is the key they both needed.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This was such an interesting story because it had some unique people in Becca and Shane. Becca had a really rough year and stole some money which embarrassed her fiance who then broke things off with her. Shane is a returning war hero who does not want the attention when others he knew have died and he feels they deserve the honor. They both have parts of them that feel broken yet they are great for each other.

Becca seems to understand Shane better than anyone else and Shane, a cop, accepts Becca even though she stole money! I loved seeing them together and they just were such fun to read about!

When Becca starts getting harassed by an unknown stalker, Shane goes into protective mode, and is determined to keep Becca safe physically and emotionally. The final showdown with the stalker is stressful for Becca and yet Shane stays focused and rescues her.

I loved the addition of Denver, he was so much a partner to Shane, and could see that Becca was important person to Shane - smart dog!

This was such a great read that I now want to read the previous book in this series!

Wow I’m just falling in love with this series. This is only the second book I’ve read in this redemption country series and I just fell in love. I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity of reading this book as I love my military and suspense romances stories and this had both in it so was guaranteed a fantastic and pleasurable reading experience which I got in spades. Would totally recommend this book

I really enjoyed this book! I thought both the characters were interesting and captivating and I loved them together. Especially loved Denver! Both of their back stories were intriguing to who they were as a person now. The only thing I couldn't really get a grasp on was the reasoning behind Beccas actions. They were explained a little better further into the book but I still couldn't really understand it, personally. Otherwise I thought this book was really great!

This is the second book in the series Redemption County by Sharon Kay. I loved it. Becca and Shane find each other, have to each deal with painful issues from their past and find a way to move forward, together. I really enjoyed their story and look forward to more books by Sharon.

Wow! What a great story! Two people, each trying to deal with their own grief the best they can. Then they meet each other.

Becca's had an extremely rough year, to make matters worse she does something that jeopardizes her career which in turn ends her engagement as well. (No loss there) Leaving the court house after taking care of her legal business, she slips and falls on the entry fall and comes face to face with a man in uniform and his K-9 partner Denver. Shane works for the Sheriffs Office, he's an experienced dog handler from his military time, still left grieving the loss of most of his team, even after 7 years.
He tries to help Becca collect all her belongings off the wet floor, Becca trying to grab her papers afraid he'll see them, he helps her up. She took a pretty hard fall and right now all she wants to do is get to her car and go home. After she leaves Shane finds her drivers license wedged against the wall and decides to hand deliver it on his way home. A little out of protocol, but there's something about Becca he can't let go of.

As soon as he shows up at her door, the story really hits its stride. These two were the best match and seemed like they were just meant to be. They understood each other perfectly and the healing that passed between them was a real joy to watch. Their chemistry was smoking and dang Shane was so blasted sexy. Becca is taken in by his friends and sister and they spend most of their time together. Especially Denver the dog, who I adored. Life is good for them until Becca acquires a stalker. The incidents were just kind of bizarre, until crazy really showed itself.

Fantastic book, great plot, the suspense was just enough. Low angst which I love and a great match between Shane and Becca. This is a book for everyone. It's a stellar read.

*I received a copy of Falling into Right from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Falling into right is the second book of the Redemption County series by Sharon Hall. I read this as a stand alone and had no problems reading it at all.

Becca Gable is just trying to right her wrong and pay her fines hoping to move on from her mistake. But when she meets Shane Marlow and his K9 Denver. But there is a stalker who doesn't want her to move on or find out if Shane will be her other half. I loved Denver and his own way of making sure that Shane has chosen the right woman. She works in a senior assisted center now and occasionally goes out with her best friend, Marcy. But she has to convince her former fiance, Evan that its really over.

Shane Marlow is a K9 officer at his old hometown and tries to convince everyone that he's not a hero even though he was a sole survivor of a IED which took out his team. When he meets Becca with his partner, Denver, he wonders if she could be his soul mate. But first he has to save her from the stalker who won't leave her alone. Can he rescue her when she's kidnapped in time?

I have read Ms. Kay's other books and really enjoyed Falling into right and give the book 4.7 stars.

Falling into Right is so much more than I had expected. It's a beautiful, heartfelt story of two people with demons coming together and allowing the other to help heal them.

Becca's life the past year has been awful. She lost her mother, she miscarried and because of the depression she felt, she ended up breaking the law and it caused her to loser her fiancé and her two jobs. Now she's just coasting along through life while working at a retirement center. She meets Shane, a gorgeous police officer while at the court paying one of the fees assessed to her because her embezzlement. Shane and his K9 partner, the German Shepherd, Denver, are patrolling the courthouse when a beautiful woman with huge, sad eyes slips right in front of him. He's affected by her for some reason, and when karma leaves her license on the floor in front of him, it gives him an opening to get to know her.

Can two people with demons inside allow someone in? Can Shane, with his post war trauma and the deaths of his team always on his mind, allow himself to love? Can Becca allow Shane in? They can, and they do, when they find a kindred soul in the other. I love the way their relationship developed. It was organic and natural and easy. Plus it was super sweet and sexy. The emotions both of them felt, and that they allowed the other to share in their pain were beautiful to read.

But, when an anonymous stalker starts harassing Becca, can Shane and Denver save her? Will they ever figure out who has it out for her and who wants to embarrass her over the one thing in her life that she still doesn't understand the reasons for?

Not only is Shane and Becca's relationship a beautiful thing to read, Sharon Kay treats Becca's depression with a deft hand. She doesn't hesitate to open Becca up to Shane and let him know that she still doesn't understand why she embezzled, she doesn't hesitate to let Becca's struggle be real. But, she also doesn't overdo it or make it OTT or melodramatic. At times, different authors can treat the subject of depression with a heavy hand, and it always comes across as soapy or too dramatic. But, here in Falling into Right, the line between real and OTT is toed perfectly. Kudos to Sharon Kay for not only her treatment of depression, but for this entire story. I loved it - both Shane and Becca are interesting, likable, subtly layered characters with a very sexy chemistry. I am really looking forward to more of this series.

I absolutely fell in love with this love story. Falling into Right begins with an actually adorable meet-cute, when Becca Gable slips and falls in a courthouse on her way to pay a fine. Police officer Shane Marlow and his K-9 partner Denver give her a hand up and lecture the teens who'd spilled pop on the floor, and as far as Becca is concerned, that's the end of the story. Becca has just come out of a long-term relationship with the county treasurer, who broke up with her when she was convicted of a crime and therefore became a political liability. So Becca's well aware that a relationship with a cop is highly unlikely. Fortunately for her, fate has other plans, and Shane shows up at her door to return the driver's license she dropped.

Shane is just one of the sweetest, most understanding romantic heroes I've ever encountered. He faces his own personal demons, being ex-military and a survivor of an IED blast that killed half his team. He is a reluctant celebrity hero; despite the county's accolades, he is uncomfortable with the attention and lives with the guilt of his teammates' deaths.

Becca is dealing with her own trauma. A series of personal tragedies leads up to the crime that lands her a criminal record, and she gives up a lucrative career in finance for an entry level job at a seniors' home.

While the chemistry between Shane and Becca was super hot, what made this story so compelling was the deep, emotional connection they formed with each other. Even more than the steamy details of their attraction to each other, it's Shane's compassionate response to Becca's halting confession of her past that made me melt. I love how they bonded over their shared pain, and I love how Sharon Kay resists the easy platitudes and instead allows both characters to work through their experiences together.

As an animal lover, I also absolutely loved Shane's K-9 partner Denver, who can switch from adorably goofy to fierce protector in the blink of an eye. There's a scene where Denver curls up next to Becca to comfort her, and Shane realizes that Denver does that only to humans he considers family, and that was just the sweetest moment.

There's a suspense subplot as well, as a stalker hounds Becca with reminders of her crime. The stalker's identity and motivations aren't all that much of a reveal, but I liked how it forced Becca to confront her past and how special her relationship with Shane is.

Falling into Right is the first book I've read by Sharon Kay and it'll certainly not be the last. It's a wonderful sweet and sexy romance with a strong emotional core, and it'll make you melt and fall totally in love with this romance.
