Chloe lives in a house that has a garden, but she hasn't really explored its wonders. Until one day, the wind whispers to her, and she finds herself lost in the beauty of her garden. There she discovers magical things. Beautiful colors, insects that can eat something three times her size, and other amazing parts of nature that she hadn't noticed before.

This is a wonderful book about nature and what can be found in our very own back yard. Not only does it encourage exploring nature, but it also holds some very interesting facts towards the end of the book. Beautifully illustrated with harmonious colors, this is a book I would definitely recommend all parents read with their children- and then maybe go on their own adventure in the garden!

Chloe, the young girl, in this lovely picture book, is oblivious to the charms of her garden when the story begins. She, the reader, and the child you will read to all learn more about nature and the seasons in this book which encourages observation and a love for nature. There are additional facts at the back of the book that expand on some of the topics covered in the story. The illustrations and text are both appealing and the reader gets the sense of why gardens are magical.

ARC Copy...liken the simplistic yet textured college nature of the illustrations which brings out the parable about nature in a simple backyard garden is actually magical.

What a lovely gem of a book A magic Garden by Lemniscates. Chloe is a sweet young girl who lives in a house that has a garden. Chloe watches her garden change seasons and then watches a caterpillar transform into a beautiful butterfly. She notices that everything is changing around her. This book has wonderful bright illustrations throughout and tells a wonderful story of nature.

The magic Garden is a lovely delight for young children, it explains why bees are magical, What happens if a seed falls to the ground, Why some animals are bright colours, Why bee's are so important in the garden etc.
I found I could use this for my classes and make seasonal projects which will involve all my pupils.

5 Stars from me.

The Magic Garden is a simple book of lovely illustrations that delves into the mysteries that exist right outside our doorsteps. It takes the reader on a little tour of an ordinary garden, pointing out some of the amazing creatures that live and work there, regardless of whether we notice them or not.

From snakes to spiders, bees to birds, we are encouraged to take a closer look at some of the more "shy" creatures that surround us every day. While I'm not really a fan of the word "magic" being used to describe nature, I do think the book is simply trying to communicate how intricate and mysterious some of the everyday facets of nature can be, even when they're ignored.

At the end of the book, there are some more detailed paragraphs about many of the creatures that are mentioned -- how they live, eat, weave, spin, etc.

The Magic Garden is a beautifully illustrated story about what we can find in nature if we only take time to look. Informative and with language that is both simple and descriptive, children are introduced to the plants and animals that live outside.

The illustrations in this book were beautiful They were colorful and interesting. The text was not too long, so it would be suitable for pre-k and young children. This would be a great book to read about before doing a nature walk or if you have a child that enjoys learning about nature. I really liked it.

"Chloe lives in a magic garden,
but she doesn't even know it."

This charming book chronicles Chloe's awakening to the wonders of nature that are all around her. One day the whispering wind encourages her to open wide her eyes, ears, mind, and heart and observe the forever changing transformations that are taking place right in her very own her garden.

She instantly becomes aware of the seasonal changes taking place. She looks closely and soon discovers caterpillars changing into butterflies, a night garden that is aglow with insects that shine in the night and choirs that sing to the moon, shy creatures that are camouflaged and borrow the colours around them, birds that weave wonderful nests, spiders that spin spectacular webs and bees that collect nectar from flowers and turn it into sweet honey, just to name a few. She is mesmerized by the wonderment that she is witnessing. Who knew?

The lovely illustrations are a beautiful visual to enrich those mysteries found in the garden. At the end of the book is a section devoted to further explanations of these marvels that the author cited in the story:

* Why do animals camouflage themselves?
* Why do animals have bright colours?
* How can snakes eat meals that are bigger than they are?
* How and why do spiders and birds spin and weave?
* What is pollination?
* Why do bees dance?

I would highly recommend this book to parents and teachers. It is the perfect segue to an adventurous trip to your own garden and also a gentle nudge to encourage us to take time to stop and smell the roses.

A beautifully illustrated story about the magic of nature as told by the wind. It has great back material. Perfect for backyard explorers though I do find the "She doesn't see the beauty around her" narrative a smidge unnecessary. You can see and not understand :)

"The Magic Garden" is a beautiful story about a little girl that takes a moment to listen to the trees in her garden that tell her all about the magic that takes place within the garden. Chloe learns that the leaves on the trees change color and fall off during different seasons, She learns that there are creatures that undergo wonderful transformations, such as the caterpillar morphing into a butterfly. The trees then teach Chloe about how some creatures use camouflage to hide themselves, and others have bright colors as a way to alert others to stay away. The tree explains the importance of bees and how they use the nectar from flowers to make sweet honey.
All throughout this story, children will be captivated by the colorful illustrations while engaged in a story that teaches them all about a garden grows and the different things they can find in a garden. This is a beautiful book that is sure to entertain and inform children of all ages!
One thing I really liked about this book was the fact that there were informative pages at the end of the book that further explore topics presented in the story. Children are able to read facts about how caterpillars transform into butterflies, why fireflies glow, why animals camouflage themselves or have bright colors, how snakes can eat meals bigger than themselves, how spiders spin webs, how birds weave nests, why bees dance and what pollination is. This is great information that supplements a cute story!

What a sweet story about a little girl's discoveries as she walks through her garden. My 4 year old really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the artwork. It was very unique. I also liked the animal facts at the end of the story.

Thanks to Netgalley and to the publisher for a copy of this book, which I voluntarily reviewed.

What a beautiful, quiet, peaceful book about exploring the world right under your nose. It's nice to find a picture book that isn't loud and flashy (much as I love performing those, they're not great for bedtime!), and doesn't depend on a wild adventure. The illustrations are detailed without being busy. and filled with texture; the text is simple but with rich vocabulary and plenty of places to stop and talk about what's happening. Finally, the end of the book has some non-fiction "did you know?" style sections to intrigue and enlighten the curious. This is a lovely book to cuddle up with or read to a small group, especially if you have a garden at home or in school, and I will be seeking a copy for our library.

The art and step by step of having a garden while the character didn't know the wonderful things that nature and the garden can be. Very cute.

This is an adorable children's book; a perfect introduction to the magic of the natural world and the wonders you can find in your garden. The Magic Garden discusses the many marvels of nature throughout the year, with nature itself telling a young girl, Chloe, about all the creatures and plants and how they change and survive. I especially liked the extra information at the end of the story, where different aspects of the natural world – how caterpillars become butterflies, why spiders weave webs, what pollination is – are explained in an accessible way. The illustrations are lovely – both delicate and vibrantly coloured – and show off the beauty that can be found in nature, complementing the text perfectly.

I really enjoyed reading the mix of fiction and non fiction to describe the different changes in the garden. The illustrations are beautiful; there are interesting words like ‘feats’ to interest young readers and encourage use of dictionaries.
