Don’t Trust Me

Great cover and great story!This was read now for me so I decide to give it a try!I like the concept and the story line.It was captivating and the suspense make me want to read it without stopping!I could say it was a fast paced story!Also there were some unexpected twists that made me enjoy it even more!!

I started out thinking that I was not going to like this book. The character of Tessa lacked depth and Jack was just an ass. What adult slugs someone in the arm while driving in horrible weather causing an accident? I thought it was going to be a ridiculous book. I was greatly surprised as I got further into the story. I went back and forth over who was the actual murderer and in the end I was totally surprised! I do have a difficult time believing that a flat tire from running over a nail in the Road was part of the plan all along.

On the cover we see the beautiful Tess in profile. A phrase Welcome to Hamlet is above the title.

The story takes place in Hamlet: population 192 inhabitants. We can not even find this little village on a map and gps do not know this place. The top everyone knows each other, there is no television or phone, the Sherif is the law. It all starts when during a storm the Tess and Jack couple find themselves in Hamlet with a flat tire. They were supposed to stop for the night to repair the tire except that Tess will end up in prison, her husband has just been murdered. She will soon be the target of the killer.

A gripping story with the character of tying Tess. I was immediately attracted to the cover and its summary. I hung on the story right away. Jessica Lynch is an author with potential, her books deserve to be translated in France to have more readers. Eager to read what follows.

This book was really good it kept me on my toes the whole time. It is about a young married couple who are forced to stay overnight in a small town called Hamlet. When Tessa the wife comes back from an unfortunate overnight in jail she finds her new husband dead. This is when detective Lucas starts looking at the case. This fast paced thriller amps up the suspicion fast and keeps you guessing through the whole book. I loved the main characters Luc especially he had a down to earth feel about him and he was very likable. I found the book had a pretty creepy feel to it which started early on and lasted through the whole story. Well done. This was my first book by Jessica Lynch and after that roller coaster of a ride it definitely won't be my last one. I think that my favourite part had to be at the very end I never saw it coming no matter how I looked at it. Great

A very enjoyable mystery with some unexpected twists. The writing was ok. Some of the sentence structure sloppy, could have used another round of editing, but doesn't take away from the plot which is very good. I didn't want to put it down... Kept thinking, "What happens next!?!" The characters are interesting. I have to give this one a 5 because of the plot and recommend it if your a mystery/thriller fan!

I haven't been able to download this one and sent the feedback in error. I read on my iPhone and only the Kindle edition was included for download unfortunately.

I am a spoiler-free reviewer( because I have read reviews that reveal the main twist or ending with no warning). So I avoid that type of situation and stick to the book blurb and why I liked or disliked the book. Don't Trust Me opens strong. Jack and Tessa are in the middle of a long drive to a destination that will hopefully serve as a second honeymoon and get their strained relationship back on track. It is a dark and stormy night with incessant pounding rain and with several hours of driving to go, a flat tire means they won't be going anywhere soon. Jack and Tessa stumble on a very small town named Hamlet and hope to find somewhere to spend the night and someone to fix their tire come morning. Things quickly go horribly wrong when Tessa winds up in jail and someone murders Jack. Who in Hamlet could have a reason to commit murder and is Jack the only target?
This wasn't a story that kept me up all night furiously flipping pages but Don't Trust Me kept my attention and did have me trying to figure out who killed Jack and why. What better setting than a creepy little town with no cell phone service and the murder of an outsider who none of the residents would seem to have a motive to kill. The killer's identity and the ending were surprising( and I did one of those talking out loud to a book going what) and I started thinking about what type of clues had been given that had either totally mislead me or that I had just missed.
Overall, a good mystery and my first by this author. I will definitely check to see if she has written other books. The one thing that I think would have increased my engagement would have been to better understand the character of Jack before he died. As it was, it took a bit for me to get invested in the story since I didn't relate strongly to his being dead or alive.

This book was a pretty fast and easy read, the story flows and the characters are believable...Tess and her husband are on their way for a 2nd honeymoon after being married for a year they are already drifting apart....they end up stuck in a seriously small town where things are about to happen that neither one of them saw coming.....or did they? There are numerous plot twists that leave you questioning what you think you know.

Beware !! This book is creepy ! Jack and Tess are on their way to a second honeymoon destination when they get a flat . They have to spend the night in small town Hamlet and Jack hopes to get the tire fixed the next day . Then things go horribly wrong ! Tess winds up in jail and Jack is murdered ! Incredibly gripping page turner ! Sharp , well defined plot that is full of twists ! Jessica Lynch is a remarkable storyteller ! I highly recommend ! 4.5 stars for this well written quick fast thriller! I adore stories that take place in small towns/villages (under 200 residents) unable to be located on a map or on any GPS as Don’t Trust me does. A married couple Jack & Tess, who have lost their love for one another, getaway in an attempt to rekindle their spark. Every time I thought I had figured out where this story was taken me I was thrown in a different direction which leaves you on the edge of your seat from beginning to the end. OMG! What a book. I loved it.
From the very first page, the plot of the story had my attention. The author did such an amazing job in describing Hamlet, I felt as if I had been transported there.
The story was face paced and unpredictable, just what you want in a murder mystery/ thriller. And what an ending!!!!
Would definitely recommend this book.

An innocent girl caught up in an unfortunate circumstance all alone. This is how Tess feels when she is stranded in Hamlet, a small town where everyone knows everyone. Her and her husband find themselves unexpectedly in the B&B and soon Hamlet's quiet little town turns dark and dangerous. Of course, accusations are pointed at Tess, the outsider, but nothing is quite as it seems.

What initially seemed like a simple, straightforward mystery suddenly turned threateningly twisty. I thought I had the end in the bag from the first few pages, and it turns out I was way off. I literally had to go back and re-read some of the pages because I was so caught off guard by the revelation. I dare you to read through this one and try to figure out the end. I'll bet you can't. What an unexpected turn of events. Pleasantly pleased with this one!

OMG. Literally this book was OMG worthy. First off, I love it when a novel doesn't take too long to get to the meat of the story. No one wants to read half of the book and not be in suspense yet. This book captured my attention from the very beginning... especially when it starts off with a fighting couple who is driving in a rainstorm and happens to end up in a motel in a remote small town. The classic beginning to a cringe worthy story. The characters were dynamic as well. You were really able to understand and get inside their minds. Jessica Lynch did an amazing job at bringing their true emotions to light in this book. I could picture the town of Hamlet quite easily in my mind which made this book come to life. And let me tell you.. this ending was not one I would have EVER saw coming. I still cannot believe it. Trust me when I say you will not be able to put this book down, you might even have to read it a couple of times to make yourself believe that the ending actually happened. Go right now and read Don't Trust Me, you won't regret it.

10 stars- This book had me chewing my nails and keeping me at the edge of my seat. The description of this small eerie town added such suspense to the story. When you read this you start questioning who is really the good person in this story and just how sure are you? Great read. Thank you for allowing me to write about it.

The book lends itself to being part of a series

An atmospheric crime thriller which sees Tessa and her husband, trying to fix their marital problems, take a trip and promptly breakdown near a small town called Hamlet.
The characters are interesting and it would be a great idea to see them fleshed out some more in another novel, while the plot itself is mysterious and tense.
Full of twists and turns, fast paced and quite dark, this story keeps you involved to the unexpected end.

to be honest I did not read ALL of it.
It was sow for me.. BUT I will not hesitate to give this a 5 star because of its WTF twisted ending..

Wow what a book! I have only given it 4 stars, instead of 5 purely because initially I wasn't hooked to the point of not wanting to put the book down. It didn't take me long to get into the story though. I thought I knew who the murderer was twice in this book (two different people and motives) ... both were wrong! When it is revealed in the final 2 chapters I was gobsmacked! Never would I have imagined that person was responsible, especially considering the events of the book. I love a good psych thriller like this, where everything is turned on its head so many times during the book. So many twists and turns, and then the big whopper at the end. I was left feeling sorry for one Hamlet resident - you'll know who if you read the book. I hate book reviews that give massive spoilers so I won't tell you who it is here! No spoilers from me ;)

I definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a good psych thriller with lots of twists and turns, and a great big shocking surprise at the end. Loved it!

OMG this book was so good. I chose it based on the title, cover and the description and it did not disappoint at all. This book drew me in from the beginning, I knew that something was up, I think I really liked it because it was set in a small town like mine. I did actually like Tess from the start, but as the plot progressed I liked her even more and thought something was up. I didn't care for the sheriff at all but in the end she knew what was up. I liked the twist that got thrown in there at the end for sure, it made the book. I did feel sorry for the deputy I mean he didn't deserve that but he was kind of creepy not going to lie. I read this book in exchange for and honest review and now you need to read this book!

It was an eerie setting, in the town of Hamlet. One of the things I loved about this book is that when I thought I figured out the book it would throw me for a loop, just keeping me on my toes! Jessica Lynch did amazing bringing such detail and mystery to each character from the start. You are at the edge of your seat from the death at the hotel! great book!

I haven't read anything by Ms Lynch before, so I was pleasantly entertained and surprised by this book. This was a well written thriller, and really entertaining. Recommended.

I grew up in a small town (alhough not THAT small, I think we had 400 people), so of course I was curious to see how murder in a small town would be handled. Especially one that seems mostly untouched by modern technology - no TV, no phones. It wasn't quite as thrilling as I had hoped, although I enjoyed the mystery aspect. I guess growing up in a small town I didn't find the ways the townspeople acted towards outsiders for the most part that odd or creepy, which seemed to be the main creep factor. Overall a nice read.
