Inspired by her surroundings at The Little Brunswick Bookshop where she works, Frankie places her hope in her favourite books to find her the perfect man… Secretly planting copies on trains, trams and buses, Frankie hopes to find the man of her dreams through a mutual love of good books. The only flaw to the plan? That she may never get her books back!

But that turns out to be the least of her worries... In between crazy dates and writing them up on her blog, Frankie stumbles upon her perfect man. There's just one problem...Frankie is strictly a Jane Austen kind of woman and Sunny is really into Young Adult. Seriously, obsessively into it...

The Book Ninja was an absolutely delightful read, full of quirky bookish themes, sweet and yet flawed characters and, of course, a liberal dose of humour that left me giggling throughout. This book warmed my heart, and left me feeling all kinds of warm and fuzzies after I finished it.’

‘This was a delightful read that I became completely consumed by and finished in one sitting!

I loved it, better than pizza and I look forward to seeing what Ali Berg and Michelle Kalus come up with next.’

‘The perfect book to tackle a book-reading slump’

‘It's wonderful to finally have a book to recommend for fans of The Rosie Project

Between the daily pages of life, the book ninja is like a Love Letter to all things reading and books. I loved every line of this story.

It's a delightful story of two friends Frankie and Cat as they navigate love and life. It's full escapism and the perfect beach read. Its all set in Melbourne and with lots of local references and based on the the girls running a bookshop and using books to find Frankie her new love. It has some lively side characters and the girls antics are great fun, ludicrous and what friends do.
I loved the link to all the books in the story and they way there storylines were referred to, I've added a few titles from this to my 'on the bedside to read' list.
Overall really enjoyable, escapism, sorry my only negative, the title of the book not sure it would draw me in if it was on the shelf?

I was instantly attracted to The Book Ninja – I can’t resist a book about books! I wasn’t disappointed. I loved the whole premise, the idea of leaving favourite books on trains – to find a date, is so original and really worked. The relationships between the main characters are really believable and even though some of the minor characters are slightly OTT they fit with the quirky feel of the book. I loved all the literary references and as a fellow Jane Austen fan I was delighted to see her wisdom used throughout. I don’t think I’ve ever read a novel that has made reference to so many other books and such an eclectic variety too. I made a list of the ones I haven’t read to add to my already huge TBR list!

What an enjoyable and happy read about books! I mean, if you love reading, and you read via Netgalley - then what's not to love about this?! I'm so glad I gave this book a go because it was just lovely, heartwarming and so enjoyable! I'd never read a book by the author's before and was a bit skeptical because it was written by two people but I needn't had worried. The story flowed really well and it felt like the pages flew by.

The story itself follows Frankie, who is very unlucky in love. She works in a bookshop. As she is so unlucky, she decides to take matters into her own hands and leaves copies of her favourite novels on trains with her email address inside. As she does this, she starts to get interest and this is when the dating starts - which in parts is quite funny! - and she also starts blogging about her dates which she really enjoys as she likes to write.

Along the way she meets quite a few different men, but then one comes along which could possibly change her look on love forever. It's a romantic book with comedy and has a lighthearted feel to it. Really enjoyable. Glad I requested it.

Lesson number 1: don't use the kindle download feature on net gallery, it comes out weird putting the authors name in odd places and acts as if the author has pressed the enter key at weird places as well. Buy a kindle copy and enjoy it.

So getting to the book, ii really liked it, it almost made me wish we had a dating site just for bookworms, whilst the male lead may not read the books the female lead loves, to find a man who reads for pleasure and doesn't find reading boring would be an achievement. I thought it was kinda cliché how the publisher mentioned for the female leads book was the actual publisher of the book but maybe this was done on purpose. I loved the list of books at the end, most will be going on my amazon wish list! In general an absolutely awesome book. To find an author who can express the passion of books the way this author did is rare and absolutely brilliant!

Loved this book!

Frankie is obsessed with books and works in a bookshop. She is a published author but hasn't written anything for ages. She is also unlucky in love, so decides to take a new approach to meeting men - leaving copies of her favourite books on trains - each book has her email address in it so hopefully she can go on a date with the men that find and read the books. A series of dates follow, and she blogs about them too - finally getting back to writing.
But along the way, she meets Sunny. He only reads YA books, so surely he can''t be the man for her?

A great read with an interesting range of characters. I also liked how many real books it referenced too.
