Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher a greedy reader was able to devour the follow up to Old Enough in The Age Between Us duology. This book comes on the heels of a cliffhanger that sounds daunting for the love life of Jane and Brian's heart. Nothing seems to be going right in their lives, but the fact that they were able to meet each other at the perfect time even though the circumstances where not the most honest. This love story is not conventional or lacking judgement from all the people around, but one that seems to be where two people meet their match. Age is just a number and Charmaine Pauls tells that perfectly.

Oh my goodness. This book had absolutely everything! I really thought that this second book would just be a simple HEA, a simple conclusion to Jane and Brian's loves story..... boy was I wrong. There is so much emotion and story builds and builds in such an amazing way that I could not put it down. I could not get enough of Jane and Brian. I love how all of the elements of the story all came together. I could not put this book down! I read the whole thing in just about 4 hours! 5 stars for "The Age Between Us" I wish I could give more stars and keep reading all about Jane and Brian.

The perfect conclusion to a beautiful work of art. I couldn't put the book down.

Brian and Jane both deserve each other. Im just so proud of him for fighting for their love and respect Jane so much for being so dignified even when faced with the greatest obstacles.

Charmaine Pauls has become my go to author for creating the most heartfelt stories.

You don't want to pass up this series!! Charmaine Pauls has exceeded all expectations with this intriguing, gut wrenching, heart-felt story. Jane and Brian begin their story in Old Enough, the first book in the series. It sets up a multi-faceted plot and what we know will be an incredible climax in the conclusion, Young Enough. Young Enough is fast paced and has so many high points, I just couldn't put it down. If you want a unique story that will fill you with feelings of anger, joy, sadness and hope, this is the book for you!

I loved the first book in this duet and while this was a very strong finish, I just wanted more for Jane. She suffered so much in Old Enough and I knew that it was going to get worse before it got better, I just wasn't expecting this amount of worse. This book was super sexy and I loved the relationship between Jane and Brian. Jane literally gets put through the ringer and I didn't feel like there was enough justice for her in the end. The way she was treated by those closest to her was heartbreaking and I think they deserved more for what they did. I do like the way the book ended, but I wish it had been a little longer. It ended a bit abruptly for me and I would have rather seen more of Jane's HEA instead of the extra angst right before that. I felt that was unnecessary. BUT overall, this is a great read and I'm satisfied. This was a total page turner and I read it in one day. I didn't think I would like an age gap like this, but Brian was an imperfectly perfect hero. However, Jane's compassion and ability to forgive is the shining star in this story.

Waiting for this book was agony, the need to know what happened to Jane and Brian was unbearable. But I must say it was definitely worth the wait. Charmaine Pauls never disappoints. Jane’s difficult life with work, Abby and her ex were not making life any easier, but she had the infatuation with Brian to calm some of those days. He, however was becoming more and more protective and possessive even if she didn’t see it, which he had reasons to be. Secrets always come out no matter how hard you try to keep them hidden. But after a lot of turmoil and difficult choices love can prevail in the end. It just may not be smooth sailing to get there.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book (from NetGalley). All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a much awaited sequel for me!! I LOVED this book. The depth of the storyline is unbelievable and kept me on my toes throughout--never knowing which way the plot would bend or warp... The heroine is very relatable! It really felt like her plights were my own. Descriptions and emotions were so extremely well portrayed--the stressors and sorrows becoming my own. I even cried at one point--which was pleasantly unexpected. (FYI: I do NOT recommend starting chapter six unless the reader has about 6 or 7 free hours in succession, as I was unable to put this novel down from that point on...) Thank you to NetGalley and Charmaine Pauls for a wonderfully sleepless night!

Beautifully painful and painfully beautiful!

To recap, Young Enough is Book 2 of a love duet between a forty-two year old divorcée who is struggling to restructure her life after the loss of her marriage and a nineteen year old university student who pursues her relentlessly while simultaneously working to support his alcoholic mother and his younger sister. Jane and Brian are explosive together! But it takes a lot for Brian to convince Jane to look past the multitude of obstacles, towards seeing them as a permanent couple.

*** “I wish I could give you the younger version of me.” “I don’t want the younger version of you. It won’t be the person you are now, because everything that happened to shape you into the person you are wouldn’t have happened.” ***

Brian is very possessive, protective and determined for his age. Whenever Brian and Jane are together their passion is so beautiful it makes me ache. Their love is intense and glorious - completely enviable!

*** “Every woman deserves the over-the-top, I’d-fucking-die-without-you feeling I have for you. I won’t degrade a young girl to second best simply because you reject me, so don’t even think about it. I’d prefer to be alone.” ***

But Charmaine Pauls is the queen of torturing her characters. Just when the couple are ready to take their relationship to the next level, a deluge of challenges (which have been simmering in the background) is finally released. This author proves again she has the courage to subject her characters to gut-wrenching hardship and drag her readers through the ringer. Jane and Brian encounter so much more danger, betrayal and even just plain bad luck that I wasn’t sure I could withstand the torture, the pain. I could feel my miniature literary self curled up into the fetal position inside my mind sobbing “No! No! Stop! I can’t take any more!”

Young Enough completes the Age Between Us duet with intense pain, intense love, and intense satisfaction. I may have wished greater retribution on some of the secondary characters (ahem! Francois, Benjamin, “Debs”, I’m looking at you!) but at the same time, I am won over by the grace and kindness of Jane and the resilience and loyalty of Brian. I loved this couple!

Sexy. Seductive and entertaining. The second installment in this series does not disappoint. Maintaining the pace and mood of the previous installment, 'Young Enough' brings the opposite perspective of 'Old enough'.
The chemistry of the main characters is tantalizing. A must read.

Young enough to love this book!

This is book 2, so you must read Old Enough first. I loved this book! It took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions with twists & turns that enthralled me. This book was so good that I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end then I was sad it was over. I am still thinking about this book the next day - that is how much this book is staying with me. Again, I loved this book!

I am glad to have received this ARC from Charmaine Pauls and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Charmaine Pauls’ Young Enough continues where Old Enough leaves off and we see the consequences of Brian’s and Jane’s secret-keeping. Everything becomes progressively more complicated. Monkey, the local mob boss, is increasingly more insistent in the demands he makes on Brian. Serious allegations are made that may result in changes to the current custody arrangements for Abby. Benjamin’s schemes come to a head, raising the question of who has betrayed whom. Jane’s job-security is threatened. Friendships face challenges and it’s hard to know who will be supportive and who will be disloyal. There are threats and dangers and numerous unexpected twists and turns. I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride as new obstacles kept raising the stakes; I couldn’t put this down, impatient to find out what happens next.

Brian remains constant in his love for Jane, but Jane is faced with so many betrayals that she begins to question whether he has ulterior motives. As everything reaches crisis levels, Jane finally makes a decision that will have significant repercussions in her relationship with Brian. With so many new revelations and entanglements, Jane and Brian’s HEA is no longer a certainty.

Young Enough is a splendid conclusion to The Age Between Us duology. Charmaine Pauls has a style of writing that both describes the sensual and steamy nature of Brian and Jane’s relationship and presents a plot that draws in the reader with its complications and unexpected developments, a terrific combination! She is an author whose works I plan to follow in the future.

Because I had not read the first book, I struggled with the different people and their roles in the book. Once I got into the book, it started making more sense and I really enjoyed the story and all of the dynamics occurring. Brian falls for a woman, old enough to be his mother but the love is real and they do have a HEA but there are a lot of struggles, danger and misunderstandings along the way. It is a well written book and I would highly recommend it for a great read but I believe you need to read the first book in order to appreciate this one. I received a copy of this book thru Netgalley.

I received Young Enough by Charmaine Pauls through Netgalley for free in exchange for a free review. Please make sure that you read "Old Enough" by Charmaine Pauls before attempting to read this book, as you will be lost if you don't. I was very excited to see that I was able to read this book so close to having read the first book in the duet. I really did enjoy it. The ending was satisfying, if a little unexpected. I cannot say that I fully support all of the decisions that the main characters made, but they fit for them. As always with this author, the sex scenes were hot and quite descriptive. This is not for the faint of heart. I read it in one evening. Enjoyable read and I am sure I will look for more books to read by this author as they come available.

OMG what a great story book 2 was I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end, I was taken on a roller coaster of a ride plus theres plenty of twists and turns through out for them to over come.And what a awesome ending to Brain and Jane story. Want to no well you just have to One-Click Now. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.

Whew, what else could happen to Jane. The woman has the perseverance, I will say that and to come through it with an HEA is what makes this romance so lovely. Her compassion for people even though they have wronged her is overwhelming. Brian again is really an old soul in a young body. I was amazed again at how he took everything in stride (well, most everything) and did not give up on Jane. There are some very intense moments in this story which I loved. The ending (before the epilogue) is so sweet and beautiful. Another great read from Ms. Pauls.

Beautiful conclusion to this two-part series. I started and finished it in one-day, I just couldn't put it down.
There are moments where the story does get dark, and some readers may be triggered by it.

I truly enjoyed the sequel to old enough. It was heart breaking, frusting, sensual, gritty, steamy and full of turns that had you biting your nails. Also made you realize how real life is. Love knows no bounds and comes in all shapes and sizes. Great story to remind you no matter where you come from or where you go true love is always there

What a great ending to the first book. Such a taboo book with a 19 year old, mature, caring, sexy man and a 43 year old woman. There was so much going on in this book, and it was all well written and a hard to put down book. I made sure I had the time to read the whole book in one sitting as I knew it would be hard to put down. The book did not disappoint! Great HEA.

OMG! The follow up was fantastic! I loved the continuation of Brian and Jane’s relationship and all the shit hitting the fan in her life. I could feel both Jane and Brian’s love, passion, and heartbreak through this story. I got so pissed at the stuff happening I almost started screaming at my iPad! But in the end was a HEA that they both deserved. Bravo Ms. Pauls!

Brilliant finale. Whilst I found the abby-Jane relationship devastating and it brought me to tears nearly every interaction. I would love to think in janes position I would be that selfless and think only of my kids but just don’t know so whilst it is an erotic novel it does give situations that you have to wonder what would I do.
The ending surprising and a bit unexpected, definitely worth a read.
Loved it, will definitely look for more by this author.

This is going to be a review with no spoilers because it hasn’t released yet but I had the pleasure of reading a ARC and I am going to tell you this book you will not be able to put down holy shit if your book doesn’t catch on fire you’re not reading it. I fell in love with the characters in book one and I just grew more in love with them as I read every page of this book age is just a number compatibility passion that’s what matters. This book has lots of twists and turns plenty of hot smoking scenes and so much more! Jane And Brian my favorite (less)

I don’t know where to start. This book gutted me, then slowly, put me back together. There is so much going on with all the characters in this book, I was worried how it was all going to pull together by the end. I can not say enough how genius this story was written. I read it in one day. I COULD NOT put it down. Brian and Jane became one of my all-time favorite couples. I was so skeptical of the age difference when I started Old Enough, but Brian is such an old soul it didn’t matter how young he was. And Jane deserved happiness. It was a long, hard battle for her, but anything good is worth the wait. This truly is a stunning duet.

Amazing conclusion to Jane&Brian’s torturous journey to a life together with uncertainty. My heart was just aching and beating so fast with anticipation for Jane&Brian. I can’t believe how in a blink of an eye the story was going like I thought then whoosh the halfway mark of book everything was twists and turns like a freaking tornado hit. I was blown away from some of the truths that were revealed and I loved every minute of them. Charmaine Pauls has a way with her words that just grip me and sink me so far into the storyline I don’t want to stop reading until the end. So much Emotion,Heartfelt feelings,and Torture while reading this book. I’m amazed at how everything just came together at the end of the book and absolutely loved this quote: “Something as rare as what we had is worth fighting for. She’s worth fighting for. To hell with the how and why. To hell with the age between us. “
Jane&Brian’s life was different in so many ways, but that’s what makes their life interesting. I believe we can’t choose who we fall in love with when our hearts are doing the choosing for us.

Dark, intense and passionate are only few words that come near to describing “Young Enough” by Charmaine Pauls. Pauls’ work is far from ordinary and is in a class of itself. She writes romance that is shocking, unforgettable and poignant not to mention raw and provocative! In this second book of her The Age Between Us series we see reality settle in as Brian and Jane face new challenges and secrets are revealed.

You can’t help but go back and forth with this relationship. Is it right? Is it acceptable? Is it real or just a short fling? Charmaine Pauls has a way of bringing unconventional relationships to life and showing us that nothing is as black and white as we think and that there are many shades in between.

Another remarkable romance by Charmaine Pauls! Can’t wait to see what she has in store for us with her next romance!

4 1/2 Star Review......

The conclusion of this remarkable duology is jam-packed with deception, betrayal, pain, angst, passion and love. Jane and Brian always knew their relationship would be a torturous rollercoaster, where the unexpected would become their norm, and calm was simply non-existent. But will they have the strength to overcome adversity?

There are a multitude of twist and turns, many heartfelt and emotional truths, but above all, there are two amazing people who just want to love unconditionally; without judgement. Knowing that we can’t always choose whom we love and actually living that reality, are as different as hot and cold, and Jane and Brian are exceptional in their quest for a normal life.

Ms Pauls has written a powerful and moving story, that I’m sure will stay with readers long after the last page is turned.

Phenomenal! I love this story of Jane and Brian! Jane goes through so much turmoil, which none of it is her fault. It is an emotional journey for both of them ending up in a not so predictable place! Love it so much. One of my top favorite authors Charmaine Pauls. Bravo!

4.5 STARS!!!!
This was such a great conclusion to this duet. There was so much in this story that happened that I didn't expect and that had me finishing this book in one sitting. There was so much drama in this book and once again there were those characters I loved, and characters I loved to hate. I disliked Loretta in the first book and in this story she showed her true colors, along with some others. I'm glad Abby matured a little but for a while I didn't think she would. Francois and Debbie even became likable characters. Benjamin was in a league of his own and I didn't hate him but I didn't quite care for him either. There was so much going on in this story but I loved how everything was wrapped up. I was completely satisfied with the ending and I enjoyed this story a lot. I definitely look forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

5* Soulmate Stars

Young Enough picks up from where book one, Old Enough, ended on a cliff-hanger.

The journey of Jane and Brian was very testing and emotional. I was so invested in their heartache and struggles that I could not put the book down and finished it in a day racing to the end to find out if they got their HEA.

Jane had to endure so much heartache and pain that presented itself from her past as well as her present and this only made her stronger in the end. Brian was still very protective and caring and so devoted to Jane and his family.

The conclusion of Jane and Brian’s story was full of angst, sorrow, deception, betrayal and great passion and love. It also had a few twists and turns, which I did not foresee.

I read the duet of the Age Between Us back to back and this made for compelling reading. I really enjoyed this emotional rollercoaster of a series.

Many thanks to Charmaine Pauls and NetGalley for my ARC to read and review

Disclaimer: I was given a free copy of this book to review by Netgalley.com.

This book picks up right where the last book ended. Drama, Drama and more Drama goes down. Things have changed, Jane moves away from the city. She creates a new life for herself. She is content and thinks that she is over Brian. Brian is still working under cover for the police. He is still engaged to Monkey's daughter.

It again has some amazing writing. I am very hooked on this author. I love her style, I love her characters. I cannot get enough from Pauls.

Jane is such an amazing and strong woman. With everything we learn in this book about her past. She was assaulted twice and both times it was pushed under the rug and she had to live with it. Brian deals with his past, loosing his father, mother and little brother. I know his mother is still alive, but she is not well and unable to care for him how a mother should, so he essentially lost her as well. Everything is thrown at these two to make them explode.

The doubt as Jane feels that every single person dear to her has betrayed her made my heart weep. She takes everything in stride and picks herself back up again. Yes it is painful and hard, but she does it because she knows she has to for herself.

The ending was beautifully written and thought out. I wish it didn't end, I want to know more of their love together.

The first book in this series made me feel every emotion from happy to sad. This book, Young Enough, was a great follow up with a sweet ending to what ended up being a very tragic, heartbreaking story for the main character Jane. I loved the development of their love for each other even if I didn't love how much of a complacent pushover Jane became in this book. Overall I thought it was a good read but I liked the first one better so that's why I'm going to give it 4.5 stars. Thanks NetGalley for my ARC!!

Super sexy, dark and erotic, yet a fabulous love story. 4.5 stars
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This book left me with a multiple multitude of feelings. Not only did Paul’s bring us a amazing HEA but the road to get there was rocky.
The path we had to travel with Jane and Brian had so many ups and downs and twists and turns, it was hard not to get caught up in the book.
I had a tough day when I first started reading it I really wasn’t into reading but I knew I had to get it done. But then the author turned up the heat with some amazing sex scenes, loaded with erotica, dominance, and a whole lot of imagination.
Couple that with personal issues, family drama, mobster violence, and secrets galore. Soon I wasn’t worried about the day I had as I blazed through this book.
With every turn of the page Paul’s managed to ramp up the story more and more. Between the blistering passion, the suspense, drama, and the twisted web of the truth, this book is a testament to the author’s creative mind and unique storytelling ability.
This is the second series of books I’ve read by this author and each one has been surprising. And for the The Age Between Us two part story she did herself proud with the amazing story of Brian and Jane. Make sure to set some time aside when you dive into this one!
This was a frustrating read!! You just wanted to push and slap someone....HARD!!!! Sometimes it was Jane! I enjoyed This read. It was slow at first, but when it got going...It was on! Rollercoaster of emotions. Brian is sweet and caring. Jane and her story finally comes out! Good read!!! Characters were good and I would have liked to have read about Monkey and how that all turned out and went down. Overall, great read!!
I received this ARC from the publisher at my request via Net Galley for an honest review. The opinion expressed are my own.Thank you Net Galley!
*** Be warned, this book is red-hot and you will not be able to put it down! *** Young Enough is the second book in The Age Between Us duet. If you have not read Old Enough, the first book in this duet, you will be a little lost. I recommend you go back and read the first book. I really loved the first book in this series and didn't think that I could possibly like this book more….Boy was I wrong. I absolutely loved this book. If I could give it more than five stars I would. Young Enough is the continuation of Jane and Brian’s dark, erotic love story.
At times this book was sooo intense, I was overwhelmed, but I couldn't put it down. I read the whole book in about five hours. There were multiple times where I actually said, “Noooo, OMG, that did not just happen!” This book has everything, lust, deceit, lies, blackmail, and an all consuming love between two people that defies all logic.
Ms. Pauls writing is superb, from the first word to the last. Her further development of the secondary characters are carefully crafted, and in the end their true nature is revealed. While the story unfolds she deliberately divulges little hints of what may happen and then… the book explodes! When you think you have figured out what is going on, there is a new twist, a new lie brought to light, another person’s betrayal is exposed, all of which is attempting to keep Brian and Jane apart. I love the way Ms. Pauls cultivates the relationship between Jane and Brian. The love and heartbreak they share wraps around your heart, squeezing until you feel as lost and out of control as they do. She also writes the most amazing, seductive scenes… 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 steam meter! The big question: do Jane and Brian get the HEA they so deserve or do the circumstances and people in their lives who are plotting against them win? Sorry, not going to tell! 🤭
The Age Between Us duet will go down as one of my favorite duets. I might just have to go back a read it again, it was just that heart wrenchingly beautiful!
***I kindly received an ARC of this book by way of NetGalley/publisher/author. I was not contacted, asked or required to leave a review in order to read this book. I received no compensation, financial or otherwise. This is my honest review.***
This is the second installment of this series. We continue with the story of Jane and Brian trying to be together, with a 23year age gap between them. You see them go throw ups and downs and quite honestly, a shit ton of drama was thrown at them. I did at times feel like a lot was going on individually with both Jane and Brian and then with both together, that I just needed a break to regroup. I did thoroughly enjoy the suspense in parts and became so invested in the storyline I found myself being mad for the characters. Specifically, Jane. Oh that, woman. I don’t know if she’s a better and stronger person than I am or a doormat. But props to her for being the bigger person through the whole story, I couldn’t do it!
Would highly recommend this book and the series. Well rounded book, with enough suspense, angst and sexiness!
Young Enough, The Age Between Us book two, by Charmaine Pauls brings the D to RAMA! WOOO…. so much happening in this book.
How do you keep your composure when life deals you a bad hand? Jane kept her composure the ENTIRE TIME when I would have been climbing the walls freaking out, pissed off, ready to take anyone and everyone out. Dealing with a failed marriage due to her husband's infidelity (I have fallen in love and it’s not you….), dealing with an angry teenage daughter due to failed marriage (that in itself is a handful), the now ex-husband and his brand new fiancée are expecting; oh and guess what…… he wants the house back for his “new family”.
Just when Jane begins to start living again, trying to be normal, a fortune teller tells her that she is in another bad relationship. Welp, you know how the saying goes “when it rains it pours” and it pours on poor Jane, literally in this book. I had to stop myself several times from yelling at my poor tablet, wanting to go off on a certain character. Even to the point where I just wanted to jump into my tablet real quick and just handle business for Jane. I understand keeping the peace but there are times when you have got to put your foot down. But she made it out gracefully, A LOT more gracefully than I would have, HA! The Princess gets her Prince, which she TOTALLY DESERVES <3
I have read all types of romance from paranormal, bdsm, dark, age difference, dom/sub you name it but I have never read an “age difference” where the male is younger than the female. For me, Brian should have been a tad older. He just felt older, maybe 30’s. Or maybe it’s me because I have a 19-year-old son and could not wrap my head around it so I just pictured him in his mid-30’s. But Lord help the woman my son dates if my 19 yr old knows how to do all that: delete, delete, delete that out of my brain. But lots, lots and lots of hot sex scenes! Good gravy Brian is very resourceful. Excuse me, I need to go cool off now.
Part two of this series and I felt the book did not disappoint. Looking at age gap relationships and taboo with a lot of hot saucy action In between it was a fitting conclusion to the series.
Young Enough is part of a book duo by Charmaine Pauls. It is the perfect book for someone who enjoys erotic suspense with dark themes. While it is not for everyone, it was solidly written and includes a fair amount of plot intrigue and romance.
I finally got to read this and it was everything I hoped for and more. After finishing Old Enough I really didn’t know how this story was gonna go. The author certainly exceeded my expectations. Make sure you read Old Enough before you read this book.
There’s quite a big age difference between Jane and Brian. I was really hoping Jane would find her happy ever after... she’s been through so much that she deserved it.
Brian is a fabulous character. He keeps proving how strong he is and how much he loves Jane.
The author stepped up the emotion barometer with this story. I felt the author pulled me through the wringer while reading this but it was so worth it.
Can’t wait to read more from this author. I totally loved this duet.
After reading Old Enough I was left with a feeling of satisfaction because the story ended in a good place, with an amazing hook to wait for the next book in this duet, but without the frustration of a cliffhanger. Now that I've read Young Enough I have no doubts left that Charmaine Pauls is a step away from being a genius when it comes to writing these duets.
Jane is a strong woman. I've said it before and I'll say it again. She's one heck of a strong woman. Not only she gets divorced because her husband left her, she moves out of the house, her daughter is going back and forward between the houses, but she also has to deal with being Brian's secret. Mind you, she's not upset she's a secret at first but that can get old pretty fast.
Brian is trying to correct his mistakes and his making a poor job at it. I think this guy should be smack some to see if he can actually wake up. He's a good guy but he made a lot of bad decisions in the past and they all catch up to him at the end. What's worst, they spill over onto Jane.
The ending was so satisfying for me. I know it's an HEA but Jane did what she had to do and she did not give him the easy way in when he came back to her. I love it and the age difference was a phenomenal aspect. I've seen books about older guys with younger woman A LOT, and I've seen a few younger guys with older women but those... the age difference it's minimal. In here Jane has more than 20 years over Brian and LOVE IT.
You can't imagine how many amazing quotes I got from this duet. Just like with Old Enough, this book gave me so many that I could fill a small notebook with them. Well, not THAT many but I swear the little nuggets of wisdom and love that I got were so worth it.
I'm a fan of Charmaine Pauls and now I want to read all of her books, current (that I haven't yet) and future. I would recommend you to dive head first because you won't regret it.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book provided by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
Jane’s world is still getting blown apart. And the one person she thought had her back has betrayed her. Or has he Brian has known from the beginning that being with Jane was going to be hard. Almost impossible but for him, there is no end to this where he and Jane are not together. Life is destroying Jane piece by piece and Brain can't help her. She no longer trusts him and throws him out of her life. That decision almost cost her her life. Her daughter has moved in with he ex, she lost her job to Brian and she lost her house again. This is the best follow up I did not expect to enjoy it more than the first one but it is fast-paced. Intrigue is everywhere nothing is what it seems and the ending is just unbelievable. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. I read it twice it was that good. And the first time I read it I was afraid I missed something I was reading so fast. All I can say is enjoy the ride.
Young Enough is book Two in the The Age Between Us by Charmaine Pauls. This continues the story of Brian and Jane. I do strongly feel you should read the previous book 'Old Enough' before reading this one. f
Jane has suffered through so much. Jane was a strong women that did have weak moments as anyone would in her shoes. Although Brian was young in physical age he was a older sole who had to fight to get what he wanted. For so much of their difference there so much that they were as one.
Really enjoyed reading their story.
This is the follow up to Jane and Brian's story from the first book. I felt so many emotions while reading this book. The twists and turns just keep coming in this story. How will Jane and Brian deal with the judgment, secrets, and lies without losing their relationship? A stunning conclusion to the duet.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
Amazing book! I couldn’t read fast enough to see if they would get their happily ever after!! Count me as the author’s number one fan!!
This bittersweet duet will be hard to forget because Jane and Brian's attraction to one another is undeniable from the very beginning, their chemistry explosive, which only intensifies in this concluding book. Such an emotional journey of passion, drama, love, pain, betrayal, loss, loyally and ultimately growth with memorable secondary characters too. Young Enough was an absolutely beautiful, heartfelt book. A real rollercoaster of ride, that I TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY LOVED. I'm REALLY going to miss this verse, these characters so much. Definitely one of my all-time favourites.
Young Enough is the last book of the duet in the ‘Age Between Us’ Series by Charmaine Pauls. It continues the story of Jane and Brian, a romance that to some may be taboo but to me was beautiful. In Old Enough, we are left with questions without answers and in this we get them along with some shocking surprises and reveals. I really don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say anything more except to say that Charmaine has once again done it and I cannot wait to see more from her.
I can't even tell you how much this book will age you. The stress, strain, and crazed situations will give you grey hairs and possibly a heart condition.
Young Enough gives you hope but man do you have to hold on with both hands kicking and screaming. Charmaine Pauls does not, I repeat does not, take it easy on the reader. This isn't a slightly bumpy road this is a freaking volcano dumped in the middle of your backyard. It's rough and you can't run from it. You will be burned. Your only saving grace is if you catch the warning signals.
3.5 Stars
A heroine that has a spine of steel and a heart of gold, but everyone has a breaking point right?
A hero that has eyes for her and that will be her Knight no matter the cost.
The feels keep on flowing in Young Enough, the continuation of the bidding taboo romance of Brian & Jane. The agony of Jane's sordid life keeps giving away and life as she knows it keeps falling apart. It seems that her happiness with Brian can't stay on track. At times I felt, will they ever get a break, a breath of fresh air?
In the end, all I can truly say is some characters step up to the plate, while some get what they deserve and others I wished had more of a harsher/pensive punishment that what the author wrote. My emotions were ALL OVER the place within Young Enough, more so than the first book. But I must commend the heroine for her composure in certain situations towards others. I am happy that she is again partnered with Brian as he is the perfect completion to her half. Just proving that their age gap is just a number and love prevails and to make known that you need happiness in your life. also, not forget the erotic scenes that Pauls' writes is enticing and passionate!
I have never been so grateful to receive a free copy of a book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a two book series that needs to be read in sequence. I thought the first book was great, but I was frustrated that I had to wait for the sequel.
Hiwever it was worth the wait. The plot was fantastic, and I am going on three hours of sleep, because I just couldn't put the book down. There were several plot twists that were clevery introduced.
I seriously can't say enough good things about this series and Charmaine Pauls. I've been searching for this kind of book for eons and it was well worth the wait.
I would definitely buy this book for friends and family, and I can't wait to see what comes next for this author!
Wow, this book did not disapoint at all. It was full of tension, revenge, betrayal and love. Such a good read and I’m now sad the series is over. Will explore the authors other books now.
The first part of this explosive story had one of the best cliffhangers I’ve read in quite a while and along with the forbidden younger man/older woman trope, these lovers will come out of the closet and try to live their lives while juggling careers and their responsibilities. This captivating story has so many facets, in addition to the erotica, it kept me on edge racing ever closer to the end hoping that these two lovers would emerge unscathed. I started and finished Jane and Brian’s book in one sitting because in addition to the delicious eroticism, the story this author weaves is absolutely brilliant and so intricately woven I found it impossible to imagine how it would end. This book is fabulous! I read an early copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
Good book. I enjoyed both in the series. Charmaine is an exceptional author who weaves a wonderful story.
In true Charmaine Pauls fashion, she pulled the rug right out from under us with this one!
I think I’m still recovering! Just when you think you had it all worked out.. Think again!
Hooked me from start to finish, and still has its hooks in me now, not willing to let go!
I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author. Her writing and stories grow from strength to strength, even when you think it’s no possible!!
I thought Jane and Brian had a tough time in book 1, I was so wrong. All the angst, injustice and betrayal that I can and cannot think of had happened in book 2. I was so heart-broken for Jane. She has been through hell; her life was filled with betrayal and abused from everyone in her life. No wonder she was so accepting in any injustice that was handed to her. Brian has also been through a lot in his short life. I admired how he dealt with his misfortunate positively and became the man he was. Things were happening and building so fast to a point I had no idea how anyone could come out unscathed. I was immensely invested in the story and I didn’t even realized that I was holding my breath while reading. Charmaine did an excellent job in wrapping everything up so expertly and realistically.
I truly loved and enjoyed this well-written and plotted age-gap romance. It’s gut-wrenching and angst yet sweet and heartwarming. I urge everyone to give this beautiful story a chance and read it with an open mind.
Again .. perfection for me. This duet is one of my top reads for 2018. The story was super sexy and erotic but it was also more than just a romance journey. It was a growth journey and Charmaine Pauls executed it perfectly! Well done.
So many unexpected twists and turns that I couldn't put it down!! This is my genre all the way and this was, without a doubt, one of the most well-written and well thought out story lines I have read. Sexy and suspenseful and so intense!! 5 starts all the way!
This book is 5 ++++ incredible Stars !! Combined with Old Enough together they are 10 Star reads & make by favorite list of 2018
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is book two in The Age Between Us series so you do need to read Old Enough before reading this book....
Some spoilers so I can elaborate on the storyline ....
In Young Enough we find Jane facing more losses- she is struggling to keep things amicable in her divorce but she looses her home to her ex & his ready made family with a baby on the way - her daughter has chosen to live with her Dad & one really big issue is her daughter wrongfully accusing Brian of molesting her ..... I was often thinking how much more is this character going to have to endure....
There is more she looses her job & has to move from the cottage she loves but ultimately & most costly is making the choice to leave Brian as she finds herself making choices that seem best for her daughter but necessarily for her ....
Brian is devestated he has done things that Jane needs to hopefully forgive him for - but nothing will change the love he feels for her .....
I am not sure I can do justice to how this series touched me & that is due in part to this extremely talented author - I actually felt such heartache for both characters !
There is a HEA but there are plenty of plot twists before you get there ... I am so proud of Jane who chose to move away to find herself again - change a career doing something she loved & in finding a way to foregive Brian found her true love again.
Excellent books do not miss this series !! This is the best “age difference romance I have ever read - & it’s really refreshing that the male chacter is younger!! These books do not disappoint in any facet of an awesome romance ❤️ Great characters ❤️ sizzling sexy chemistry ❤️ Very well written storyline & plot !!!!!
Happy reading & I also suggest adding Charmaine Pauls to your TBR author list
I read the first book in this duet, and gave it what I felt was 5 well-deserved stars. Then I read the conclusion of the story. I wish I could take back one of those stars, because while Young Enough is very good, Old Enough is truly worth of a 5 star review.
Have you seen The Pursuit of Happyness? or Pearl Harbor? or Saving Private Ryan? You know that moment when it just seems like the main character/s get no relief from all of the bad things that are happening? There are times in Old Enough when it feels just like that. It gets pretty heavy, but it sure keeps your interest because you want to see if Jane and Brian overcome.
I can't say enough about this set of books. They are well-written, and sexy, and interesting, and keep you on the edge of your seat. They delve a bit into some proclivities that I haven't read too much in other books, and I felt that it was really well done.
This is the first time I've read a story that takes place in South Africa. Often, the author uses words or phrases that we don't usually use, and it takes me out of the story briefly. But reading about a different culture made it worth it.
I also received an ARC from NetGalley and I can say this was just as good as book 1. I read it a few weeks ago and forgot to review it. Sorry. This is a really good series. (well, 2 books might not constitute a series) but I LOVED THEM! storyline completely believable and I just loved the characters.
Seldom have I read a book where the heroine is subjected to so much pain, suffering, and persecution. Jane is a genuinely good person and the way she was treated by most people in this book had me both heartbroken and livid. Honestly so many obstacles are put in front of Jane and Brian that I was doubtful the author could possibly reach a convincing HEA. However, I’m relieved to say that Ms. Pauls managed to pull it off. This was an emotional, heartbreaking, and at times, infuriating read. I genuinely liked and felt affection for both Jane and Brian and became so frustrated and down right angry with all the ignorant and small-minded people who saw fit to judge and condemn Jane simply because she loved a man significantly younger than she. I believe that age doesn’t control love and to whom someone is drawn. As long as both parties are consenting adults, it’s no one’s business what the age gap may be. Ms. Pauls did an excellent job of showing what women who are in relationships with younger men often face. If the tables had been reversed and Brian was significantly older than Jane no one would have batted an eyelash.
Brian was a great hero; he was devoted to Jane and willing to fight the greatest battles for her. He was also very hot and an alpha male. Jane was kind, loving, and a genuinely decent person. Old Enough and Young Enough were my first reads from Ms. Pauls and I can’t wait to read more of her work. I’m a pretty picky and discerning reader and can honestly say that I’m impressed with both the story, character development, and quality of writing.
I received this as an ARC from Netgalley and all statements are my honest thoughts and opinions.
I enjoyed this far more than Book 1 (and I really enjoyed that!). The story follows Brian and Jane through some lifechanging events and keeps the reader guessing until the very end. A great conclusion to a compelling read, highly recommended.
Wooow!
This continues the story of Brian and Jane. So much happens in this one. Sooo much drama! I absolutely enjoyed every minute of reading it. Young Enough has so many twists and turns keeping me on the edge, I literally read it in one sitting.
This was perfect in every way. I'm in love with these two book omggg.
I cant wait to read more from this author :D
Old enough left you dangling and Young Enough is completely explosive.
I took it steady to 50% determined to savour and enjoy the relationship between Jane and Brian because in the back of my mind I just knew the complexity of these characters would unfurl and it it would hit the fan.
The role Abby plays in this and Janes parenting has her up for a super mum nomination.
Janes secrets and previous traumas unfold at such a rate I read the last 50% in one sitting.
Brian and the oh so bitchy Lindy come in to full horrific force and you wonder what can happen next.
This book is brilliantly written with a great story. What is age? Why is it ok if the man is older but not the other way round?
I just loooved it.
Young Enough was the perfect follow-up to Old Enough by Charmaine Pauls. The story continues with Brian and Jane. Will they end up together? Will Brian's secret be revealed? This book kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot line was full of twists and turns. This book was definitely a 5 star book. I'm looking forward to reading more from Charmaine Pauls. I am recommending this series for sure!
This is the second book and needs to be read after the first one. I read and enjoyed book one so I was looking forward to this one and damn it was even better than the first one. Brian and Jane just can't seem to catch a break and this book sees their relationship being tested time and time again. You don't want to miss this series it is a super taboo romance
This is second book in the Jane and Brian story. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster to learn about this couple. Will they survive the turmoil of their lives? Will it suffocate them and draw them further apart? You should pick up this story to find out! If you love hot, sexy stories, this one is for you! I loved reading their story and look forward to reading more from this author!
Young Enough is book 2 of The Age Between Us by Charmaine Pauls. It really kept me guessing, which I love. It had hot sex scenes, which I also love. I think the author is a talented writer and that the e-book price is reasonable. My only complaint is how absolutely disposable Jane is as a character. She had people in her life, true, but they treated her as someone who could be tossed aside. Even her daughter!! Absolutely everything goes terribly wrong for Jane. I know this is a writing technique (make your character miserable, it makes readers keep reading) but I think the author took it too far.
I received a e-ARC. Thanks NetGalley.
Wow...what an intense ride! I loved the ending of this book. This book - series has it all betrayal, heartbreak and so much drama you'll want to scream. There were times when I wanted to step in and stop the trolls from disrupting Jane's world. Yes, it's that good. I loved it! And the ending..#HEA
I am having a hard time rating this book.
On one hand I would've loved Jane with a lot more fight in her. On the other hand she was who she was and neither of us can step over our own shadow now, can we? She would've deserved more than apologies from everyone in her life who hurt and used her. Hers was a complex personality with a tad too much consideration for others. She always thought about everyone else but herself and even those closest to her turned this to use to their own benefits. It was hard to read and feel her loneliness and sorrow at times but at the end I think everything that had happened helped her to become an emancipated version of herself. She was and remained the better person in every conflict with her inner strenght and hard-as-steel backbone.
I liked Brian in the first book and this time too. Contrary to Jane he didn't need a complete personality do-over.
Despite his young age he was a solid dependable man but burdened with problems that seemed unsurmountable at times. Jane had her inner conflicts so it only seemed fair Brian had very serious outer problems to fight and conquer. He too was successful in his battles - but not without great sacrifices.
Both of them got battle scars in the process - both of the physical and psychical variety.
I don't know if it was the writing or whatever else about their love scenes but those were sizzling hot and all consuming.
All in all I liked this second book of the duet. The writing was entertaining again. There were a lot of secrets and twists and those made the story and the characters more complex.
Even though I would've wanted a bit more feisty heroine I understand she had to walk her own path to find happiness.
Amazing story follow up from the first one, really enjoyed following all the characters and where they ended up and all the events that happened in this book!! Amazing story!!
Young Enough by Charmaine Pauls is part two in the Age Between Us series. This book is a direct continuation of Old Enough, so part one must be read first. In Young Enough, Jane and Brian continue to fight for their relationship. As time passes, Jane and Brian's obligations pull them away from one another.
The younger man, older woman taboo is handled nicely in the Age Between Us series. Brian is what Jane needs to feel whole after a series of losses. Jane shows Brian his current way of living will not work out as he planned. They help one another grow, make each other better.
Relating to Jane proved to be difficult, but in the end, I understand the actions she took. Her priorities are not wrong. Brian makes some bad decisions, but his intentions are always pure. In the end, he does the best he can.
After reading the first novel, I was absorbed in their story. It was not hard to wish the best for Jane and Brian. Given the suffering they experienced, it was a long time coming when it finally happened. Charmaine Pauls does her tortured heroes well, with emphasis on tortured. I highly recommend this dark romance. I received this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion. I encourage all readers to reach their own conclusions.
The second book in the Age Between Us duet is way more than just some hot, steamy story. The story of Brian and Jane continues but not without seriously deep emotional and physical pain, seething anger (at least on my part), truly deep love, not only between the two main characters but between the people Jane surrounds herself with. For the most part. I found myself feeling deep hatred for some characters and deep compassion for others and in the end...Deep love for Jane herself...when she finally finds herself...whether it will be with or without Brian remains to be seen but Charmaine Pauls had the ability to suck me in so quickly into this story and not only because it truly is as steamy as heck, but because she wasn't afraid to put the characters in peril, or to put them in their place as they should be. I look forward to reading more from this author.
The conclusion to the first book in the series. This story takes place right after the first book. The events of the story flow together and answer your questions from the first book. Loved the story between Jane and Brian. He was her soul mate and would ensure her life would always be by her side. Overcoming each obstacle in their relationship will bring them closer together or drive them far apart. Loved this series!
Heartbreaking, romantic, and hopeful.
P L O T
I’ve said it before, people have heard it before, and I will say it again until the entire world hears it too. Age is just a number. It’s already hard enough to find true love but we also have to stay within the line society has created on who we should spend the rest of our lives with? If it feels right, go for it. Only you can decide what makes you happy.
The plot is amazing, family matters, work matters, daughters, siblings, mothers, everyone matters but the most important factor is love. From the very beginning it was never going to be an easy ride for our ship. The world is against them, but they do have each other. The break-up was what I was looking forward to in this book because it was bound to happen and to my surprise it wasn’t how I expected it would be. The reason was not what I thought it would be and that scene was hard to read. It was painful and just heartbreaking.
When it starts with a lie, you’re going to wonder when it became real and which parts of it was true.
C H A R A C T E R S
Brian Michaels
Brian is every bit a man as men twice his age. He did have to grow up early to take care of his family but that’s also one of the reasons why Jane is so attracted to him. When in a misunderstanding, he faces it head on like a man should and finds a way to talk and explain his side of the story. He doesn’t run away, he doesn’t let Jane assume the worst of him
Jane Logan
An independent woman and a loving mother. Very different from the girls Brian goes to school with. Sure, she may be a little old school and hard headed sometimes but she’s like any other woman especially when she’s in love. Crashing a party just to see him one last time and making rash decisions in the heat of their lust for each other.
W R I T I N G
Charmaine Pauls has done it again. Every person that matters in the lives of our two lovers have been given the chance to speak up their mind and showed us where they stand in this uncanny relationship between Brian and Jane. It’s such a beautiful world Pauls has created. Sometimes we need to set aside our differences, forget what society thinks and understand how a person feels. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to their story.
O V E R A L L
Charmaine Pauls is utterly amazing with romance between two people from different worlds and with different views of the world. She seems to enjoy duologies and I am only too eager to read them. Comparing this story to her Lone Shark Duet, I can confidently say that her message is clear. Age is just a number, love can be found in the most unlikely of places from unlikely people, and love will always find its way back.
I have yet to meet a couple with this kind of relationship where the woman is older than the man, and I very much would love to know their love story.
