The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook

The knowledge that I can safely and deliciously eat cookie dough is a game changer. I'm already planning how to use this at parties I throw, or dinners I attend. It's easy to make and something that will definately stick in the minds of those who try it. I liked the different suggestions for how to use the dough in desserts or cakes. So many options! Get this book, try the recipes! A bunch of them don't even need to be refridgerated!  I'm going to make a batch for a treat when camping next week. What a cool book!

This is such a brilliant book and perfect for a family member who loves sweet treats. There are easy to follow instructions and explainations.

You Guys! I was JUST having a conversation with a friend about the pain between just eating cookie dough and avoiding it because... well, salmonella. If I'm honest, I will still eat some every time--I guess that I just like to live a little dangerously. ;] As you can imagine, then, that when I saw that this book was coming out I was excited! 

How delicious! Cookie dough that you are meant to eat... and never bake! I cannot wait to try out more of the recipes! "Prepare your hearts"--that is directed towards my room mates, because they will be two more of my guinea pigs. 

This book has a lot of information about how to make cookies dough that you can safely eat. I appreciate that Hops explains her passions and the process she has gone through in order to create Unbaked. And, let's be real, the photos only make you crave the cookie dough. Excellent work!

I never knew that there were so many types of cookie dough's that a person could make, until I looked at this book! I also never knew that it was so easy to make my own [eggless!] edible cookie dough. Lot's of variety, very easy to follow, and plenty of different ideas on how to use your cookie dough, too!

Edible cookie dough is all the craze. There are even shops with lines rapped around the corner just to get some dough. Just like Unbaked which the author opened up in April 2015.  The recipes in this book look absolutely delicious! There is even gluten free options. The pictures are great quality. You have the classic Chocolate Chip cookie all the way to Vegan Pina Colada. These would be great for a party or just a fun treat.

I read through this whole book in about an hour and I am so excited to get ingredients and start making away. I’ve picked out recipes for gifts. Things my nieces and nephews would like to make and there’s even a little something for the pups. These recipes look easy enough for a beginner and can be built upon for even the most senior chef to use.

I can’t wait to try out these recipes. Right now I want to make EVERYTHING.

So many cookie dough recipes! There are so many fab variety's in this book. I tried out the apple pie cookie dough
 which was absolutely delicious and have added the eggnog cookie dough to the must make list.

Others i'm really looking forward to trying are the Gingerbread, candy cane, and chocolate caramel pretzel. Of course my son is insisting we make the monster cookie dough!

Not only does the book contain different cookie dough recipes but also a section on things to make with cookie dough such as cupcakes etc.

This is probably one of the most interesting dessert type books I have gotten to try and I've found most occasions and tastes are catered for!

Great resource! The author has put a lot of useful information, this is such a helpful book. Would recommend!

Cookie Dough that is safe to eat sure sounds wonderful to me and a  book filled with yummy recipes that are easy to make in a book I am interested in reading and Yes, purchasing. Key Lime Pie Cookie Dough, Egg Nog Cookie Dough and there is even one for the dog to enjoy. I can only say Thank you Olivia Hops for thinking of this very yummy food/dessert/comfort food. My friends and family and of course I will enjoy every bite.

Remember eating raw cookie dough when you were little…and then again when making cookies with your children or grandchildren? Or even say in ice cream? There was always the worry that you might get sick since the ingredients were raw but it was oh so very worth it. Now imagine you are given 55 SAFE recipes for cookie dough safe to eat raw! That is exactly what you will find in this cookbook along with numerous ways to use the dough in more elaborate desserts. And, there are family favorites like snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, oatmeal and others along with some more fancy ones like lemon or chai. Great sounding recipes! 

As I read and looked through I could see myself making the recipes with my granddaughters or giving the book to friends with children or grandchildren. It would be fun to use for baby or bridal showers or for school fundraisers or…well…the list is endless. 

I enjoyed learning why raw cookie dough is dangerous not only for the raw eggs but because flour can carry E. Coli bacteria…and the book gives the way to make sure the flour is safe to eat.

Would I buy it if I saw it in a local store? More than likely ;)

I have never quite understood the cookie dough fanaticism (raw eggs?)  but after reading this book, I get it  We made the Lemon Cookie last night and it was amazing...this book will be such a hit with the kids at the centre as they can eat to their heart's delight with no risk of salmonella.  Great book --- if you have kids or grandkids this book or you!!

This is a very comprehensive compilation of every cookie dough recipe you can imagine- and many you can't.  From green tea cookie dough to brownie batter cookie dough, they are all here.
A great addition to the book are the colorful, close-up photos of the luscious creations.  As a big fan of cookie dough ANYTHING, I highly recommend this new book.

Did you know you that you have to heat treat your flour to make edible cookie dough?  I do now thanks to this book.  This book will give you the steps you need to make safe edible cookie dough.  And who doesn't like to eat cookie dough. Now you are ready to make some incredible edible dough.  The choices are endless and look delicious.  And if you are gluten free they have you covered too. There are classic flavors such as chocolate chip or red velvet and the Elvis all the way to Maple bacon and mango.  They have man's best friend covered as well.  There is definitely something for everyone.   There is also a chapter showing you other things you can do with the dough such as make dip or use it as a filling in a cake.  This is a delicious book.  Time to head to the kitchen.

Most people sit down with a bowl of popcorn when they watch a movie.  My friends and I always preferred a cup of cookie dough.  Of course, once we were older and heard about the possible diseases, we had to stop eating it straight from the fridge.  I’ve been extremely disappointed that the whole unbaked trend has not made it to my city yet.  I was excited to see this book.  Hopefully the recipes would be easy enough that my homemade version would suffice.  
My kids and I flipped through the options to see which to make first.  After narrowing it down from a dozen, we decide on basic chocolate chip.  I had all the ingredients for that one in my house already, and i didn't want to wait.   It tasted so similar to normal cookie dough.  i wont admit that we ate the whole batch that night...

Some of the recipes have a couple extra steps, but most are fairly simple.  There are flavors for everyone, from basic like Birthday cake , ones from my childhood like no bake cookie, ones that step it up like monster, fruity ones like key lime,  ones that are a little less sweet, even one for dogs.  it seems there is something for everyone.   I loved that the author added notes on ideas for customization.  For instance, we can’t wait to turn a basic chocolate recipe into a peanut butter lover’s dream. 

Before you start the recipe section,  the author tells you specifically how to prepare the ingredients, and gives some tips/ troubleshooting ideas.  She follows the recipes with a section for things you can make with your dough if you’d like- cakes, cheesecakes, brownies.  And finally, there is an index.  There was a table of contents at the beginning- but it only covered the “sections” of the book.  I would have appreciated a page listing of the dough flavors at the beginning so that I could find the one I want quickly.

I have always ate raw cookie dough but that thought of getting sick of it, was always in the back of my mind but being able to eat cookie dough without that risk, sign me up for it!! This book is a highly detailed cookbook of 70 cookie dough recipes and treats you can make from the dough. The pictures were outstanding and it will make you hungry just looking at the pictures! 

I loved the back story of how this was started by a simple dream during hard times, it makes this book even better knowing that hard times lead to this book! I haven't yet made a cookie dough, there is so many that it's hard to choose and knowing that you can put your own spin to it, makes this book a must have for any raw cookie lover!!

You know those days that you just feel in a slump and the only thing that will get you out of it is pjs, a big cosy blanket, a good book and some junk food. I look forward to using it on these days as I know the recipes in this book are guaranteed to make me feel better.

Who doesn't love a bite of cookie dough? Where my Daughter lives in Tennessee and in other places there are shops who sell edible cookie dough. For what those shops charge fr a small cup of edible dough with this book I can make a whole bunch. 

There are 75 recipes in this books as well as tips and tricks. The important heat treating your flour is also included. The recipes are made of easy to find products, with no egg.

The book is also filled with yummy full color pictures of each recipe. the recipes are quick and easy to make. In no time you can be munching. There is something for everyone with every taste in this book.

This is filled with truly divine recipes and photos that will make your tummy rumble and your mouth water.

Unless you are lucky enough to live in one of the few places where edible cookie dough is available then this book is essential, I kid you not you will wonder how you have lived without it.

Packed full of simple, original and delicious recipes that are easy enough for children to help out with but give results that are really impressive.
A really great book that will destroy any diets for good!

There is no eloquent way to say this: I want to make all of these recipes and cram it in my gob. 

I love the pictures, the layout, even the font choice -- everything is so whimsical and delicious looking. I am not exaggerating when I say that I was having a pretty crummy day and this book rescued me.

This book should come with a disclaimer: do not read while hungry! As an adult I know I shouldn't eat raw cookie dough...but that doesn't stop me from doing it, and Ms. Hops book is the perfect solution. Welp, that whole diet thing is over. So many great ideas and combinations that can really get your creativity going. I have a real hard time resisting cookie dough anyway, but with so many recipes and beautiful pictures, I can't help but think of how many I want to try.

Most of the recipes can be changed with just a few tweaks: use different types of chips, like butterscotch or dark chocolate! Throw in a tablespoon of peanut butter!  A cup of cake mix! OMG. You could even sub sweetener for some of the sugar. Wow.

So yeah, this is going to keep me busy for a while.

I really liked the cover and it definitely made me want to look into the book and try out cool cookie dough recipes. I never imagined there were soo many different types of cookie dough, so I was completely surprised when opening the book and seeing all the recipes. I also loved the recipes in the end which showed what you can do with the cookie dough if you have made it. There were many nice photos showing the food and the instructions were written well. What is also cool, is that the ingredients needed are mostly things you already have at home. All in all, I would definitely recommend this book to all cookie dough lovers and people who enjoy baking.

I think many people enjoying eating cookie dough, but this book allows you do that safely. It also delivers the opportunity to try a wide array of recipe options for every palate and has recipes that would fit nearly every dessert making occasion. The first section focuses on cookie dough recipes. Most are pretty simple recipes, but there are a few more intricate ones as well. The second section allows you to use your cookie doughs to make out of this world desserts if you want to do something more complicated or mix more flavors together. I recommend this book to the cookie dough enthusiast or anyone who enjoys a homemade sweet treat.

I'm not too good in the kitchen, but I've always loved to lick the bowl or an electric beater on the rare occasions I do bake. In truth though, I'd never considered the risks of eating raw egg until reading this book.

The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook by Olivia Hops is a book for all skill levels (including beginners like me) and the author takes you through the risks of eating raw egg and flour. She tells you how to pre-heat your flour and every one of the 75 recipes in this book are egg-free.

The very first night I started reading this, I jumped up off the couch and rattled around the kitchen to mix up a batch of Peanut Butter Cookie Dough and it was delicious! It didn't look terribly appetising sitting in the bowl but trust me, it was a taste sensation.

Next on my list to try is the White Chocolate Cookie Dough and Birthday Cake Cookie Dough, assuming of course that 'boxed yellow cake mix' is simply vanilla cake mix. That's the trouble sometimes being an Australian cook reading an American recipe book, some of the ingredient names vary but thankfully both measurements were always provided.

The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook by Olivia Hops is a delight to read and will definitely get your taste buds going. And the best part? You can eat the dough right out of the bowl!

Olivia starts out with the simple- how to heat treat your flour, so your cookie dough is safe to eat, right out of the bowl. From their it is a matter of which dough and flavors your want to make. This is a great book for kids for after school snacks, that can be much healthier than pre-packaged ones! teens especially will love making their own mixes! I love that your can store the dough, as well, so you don't have to eat it the day you make it, but can share with friends the next day. The dough would be fun for birthday parties for take home gifts, or for making at the party! Miss Grace loves the recipes and you will too! It's a fun book for giving and receiving!

OH, my!  I shouldn't have requested this cook book!  I'm guaranteed to put on at least 10 pounds trying out all of these recipes!  This book is for anyone who loves to nibble on cookie dough.  The author has developed easy methods for making sure these cookie doughs are safe to eat (unlike typical cookie dough) without baking.  The book includes lots of different variations (besides the standard chocolate chip option), including flavors like pina colada, red velvet, snickerdoodles, and cannoli.  Then, the last part of the book has recipes for elaborating on just the cookie dough--you can use it to stuff cakes, make cookie sandwiches, as well as dips and ice cream.  Who knew you could do so much with cookie dough!  The recipes are easy to follow with minimal ingredients.  A great book!

Fantastic recipes! And the best part is you don’t have to worry about gettin sick (unless you eat too much) my son and I have made 3 of these so far and he wants to try a new one every weekend! Great job on this one!

From the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie to Apple Pie Cookie, The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook includes all of your favorite dessert profiles in this fun to eat format.  There are recipes for delectable desserts doughs such as Lemon Bar Cookie, Oreo, and Brownie Batter Cookie. I finished reading The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook this past weekend. This is such a cool book! I admit I have always been a cookie dough fan from childhood.  Those were the days before salmonella, I suppose. The knowledge that I can eat cookie dough is a game changer. I made some of this stuff last weekend, and I’m telling you, it’s amazing stuff.  

I’m already planning to make this again, but trying one of the different recipes.  The author has included a variety of ways that you can use this in desserts as well. 

If you love cookie dough, I’d recommend buying this book. I can see making this for kid’s birthday parties and for sleepovers for children. (It’s also good for adults who still like cookie dough from their childhood.)

The directions are well written and easy to follow. The author explains how you can make raw flour safe to eat and explains how this is all safe to eat now. 

A solid five  stars!

A sugary collection of cookies and delicious dessert. Olivia makes a wonderful cookbook with easy to reproduce recipes with fewer ingredients and colorful masterpieces.

I love cookie dough - whether it's cookie dough ice cream or the bits I leave in the bowl after making cookies for the sheer pleasure of eating some. I know it's not really good to eat that, but hey, it's way too yummy. Anyway, when I found out about this book, I got so excited. It's Heaven for cookie dough lovers.
There are so many recipes, for cookie dough and also other deserts that can be made with it. Some I would never have thought about it. Everything is explained clearly. The design is simple, colourful, and the photographs are mouth-watering. What's not to love?! Just don't watch your diet as you explore the book, as you'll want to make every recipe.

Aside from the actual recipes, which are excellent and worth checking out, the actual book is well-organized, with sections for how to make "safe-to-eat" cookie dough and desserts that include various cookie dough recipes. I also appreciated the introduction, which told the story of how Olivia Hops came to invent her delicious recipes and start up her business as well as the beautifully stylized pictures.

How Much Do You Love Cookie Dough?

I was honestly on the fence about the whole edible cookie dough fad before reading this book. Sure, I like to sneak a bite of raw cookie dough while mixing up a batch of chocolate chip cookies, but with the wild assortment of flavours you can find in Hops' new cookbook, it elevates edible cookie dough to a whole other level. My favourite? The Key Lime Pie flavoured dough. (If you're looking for a sample recipe of Olivia Hops fantastic creations, The Washington Post recently published her famous recipe for MONSTER Cookie Dough.)

Overall, I'd classify The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook as a DIY DO!

Cookie dough: delicious, but with the potential for inducing food poisoning. That’s where The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook by Olivia Hops comes in. This book is full with more recipes than you can imagine for cookie dough that definitely won’t make you sick. All these recipes are made without eggs and include heat-treated flour, which means that you can eat them without fear. (You also can’t really bake these recipes, since they don’t contain leavening agents, but since this is a cookie dough book, you don’t need to bake them.)

One of the best things about this cookbook is the sheer amount of recipes. From salted caramel cookie dough to apple pie cookie dough to pink lemonade cookie dough, you’ll find both creative and traditional recipes, recipes for every season and holiday, and recipes for whatever mood you might be in. Some of the recipes are definitely complex, calling for many ingredients or specialized ingredients. But never fear–there are simple recipes too. There’s a place here for you to start, no matter what you have on hand.

One of the biggest pluses of this book for me was that there are many recipes that don’t contain chocolate. For whatever reason, I don’t like chocolate, and desserts and cookies tend to veer in that direction. But this book is creative enough to have many different flavors, including chocolate.

If you have a sweet tooth like me, I definitely recommend checking out this book. There’s a lot here for you to try when you’re in the mood for a little something for dessert.

I was taken over by a way too familiar memory of my eyes growing wide at a full bowl of cookie dough and reasoning with my mom as to how much dough to allocate to me versus how much would be absolutely necessary to spoon out onto a cookie sheet to bake. Oof, I have an odd, grainy, gooey phantom mouthfeel just thinking about it. Hops held a job in sportscasting for the NFL Network before founding her own business in a customizable edible cookie dough bar, Unbaked, which offers egg-free dough that, with the use heat-treated flour (temped up to 160 degrees), would melt if you’d try to bake it. It's all eye-candily colorful! My favorites (omitting the phrase ‘cookie dough’ for redundancy) are apple pie, key lime pie, Nutella churro, monster (naturally), banana pudding, mud pie, as well as the finished products of peanut butter cookie dough brownies and cookie dough ice cream sandwiches.

Somehow I had not heard of this edible cookie dough phenomenon until I came across Olivia Hops’ The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook. If you are like me and eat more batter than actual cookies, this book will change your life. The recipes in this cookbook are simple, safe to eat, and so much fun for those looking to make something different in the kitchen.

The recipes in this book are so quick and easy that they can be made by all ages. Also, the fact that raw egg is omitted and the flour is cooked (for a few minutes in the microwave), turns a favourite treat that has always raised eyebrows into one that can no longer be shamed for its unsafe ingredients. This is such a game changer.

The layout of this cookbook is just as simplistic as the recipes. There is a bit of history to read that describes Hops’ incredible journey to becoming a cookie dough connoisseur. Next, the technique to heat-treat your flour to make the doughs safe for eating is described. After that, there are 55 different dough flavours to try, including a classic chocolate chip and a cheesecake dough. Hops has even included a few recipes that take the doughs beyond the bowl. Making your own cookie dough ice cream or sundaes has never been easier.

Of course I had to try creating my own cooke dough after reading this whimsical book. It really does only take a few minutes to prepare and the results are so yummy. I happened to have the Nutella cookie dough ingredients on hand, so it is the recipe that got the honours for this review. It is honestly so much fun to prepare and makes way more dough than I had expected. There was lots to share and is just as delicious as it looks.

What a delightful book!  Who doesn't like cookie dough?  This book brings back great memories of making cookies when I was a kid and my mom eating all the cookie dough! Now she can do it safely!  This book is jam-packed with cookie dough recipes made just for snacking, no baking required!!

This book has a lot of great recipes in it!  I can't wait to try some.  I wish there were pictures of each recipe, but that doesn't take away from the book at all.  I like the ideas on different ways to serve the cookie dough.  I also never knew that the flour was a problem in regular cookie dough.  I wish there was a cookie dough place near me, but I will settle with making my own!

Who doesn't love cookie dough? It is wonderful, and soft, and forbidden (because, you know, salmonella). However, those woes are negated  by this beautifully put together cook book. The recipes are diverse, spanning a wide range of palettes. These is also room for customization. You could even make your own personal recipe now that this book gives you the low down on flour and proper ratios!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try out any of the recipes yet but they did give me a number of ideas to try out. It would not be surprising to see a hard copy of this on my shelf once it has been published.

Olivia Hopps' The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbookis easily my favorite cookbook of the year.  The recipes are quick to make using basic ingredients for the most part.  The method for heat treating the flour uses a microwave to keep things simple.  I marked several recipes to try out but made the snickerdoodle cookie dough first.  It was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness.  The recipe made enough dough to fill a 23 oz container.  Most of the finished doughs can be kept on the counter with options for the refrigerator and freezer for long term storage.  If you have a cookie dough fan in your house, you need this cookbook!

I just love this book. Anyone with small children who loves to cook and create with them will just a kick out of it. It has tons of great recipes and they will also make great gifts as well. This book is well written and easy to understand. I can’t get enough of it and who doesn’t like cookie dough am I right? This will be a family hit years to come and will make a great gift too..

The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook is exactly what it says, a whole bunch of delicious edible cookie dough recipes. I learned so many things in this book, like what not to add to my raw cookie dough so I don’t contaminate with salmonella.  Eggs are not my only worry, and now I know.  If you like to eat raw cookie dough, this is the book for you.

You’ll learn about safe ways to make these treats so you can eat them with no worries. A variety of dough recipes, such as cheesecake dough, are included along with tips that are helpful to make your cookie dough treats delicious. It is also a fun set up with easy recipes great for the whole family to enjoy creating together. These desserts take little time to prepare too and clean up is a breeze.
This is such a fun cookbook with treats great for gatherings of all sorts or to enjoy at home as an after dinner dessert treat. It is recommended!

All I have to say about this book is yum, yum, yum. So many flavorful options! And to be able to eat them any time I want!!!

The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook, written by Olivia Hops, is a must for anyone that loves to eat cookie dough.  I was excited when the publisher granted my wish to receive a copy of this book.  Needless to say, almost everyone loves cookie dough,  but is afraid to sneak even a small amount due to the possibility of illness.  Well, worry no more because this book is the solution...edible cookie dough! 

I have not had the opportunity to make all of the fifty-five cookie dough recipes, but have tried the chocolate chip cookie dough, the white chocolate chai, red velvet, salted caramel, and the gingerbread.cookie dough.  The recipes are fantastic, simple to make, and taste amazing!  The author also includes pictures of the finished cookie dough, as well as some vegan and gluten free recipes.  The directions are easy to follow, and if you have children, they will enjoy helping you make these delicious recipes.  If you choose to not eat the dough, the author also includes other recipes to make with it, such as brownies, cakes, etc.

In addition to the recipes, the author starts the book writing about her background, which is quite interesting in itself and worth reading, as it explains her journey leading up to this book.  Overall, I would definitely recommend this book, and plan to buy some as gifts during this holiday season.

These are easy recipes with regular ingredients that you can prepare. Great book and I cannot wait to cook them.

So many cookie doughs to work my way through. Straight forward recipes, lots of flavours and variations. I loved that there were recipes for cupcakes, cookie dough sandwiches, cake and cheesecake also. Delightful book from the cover to the back page, the pictures throughout the book and the variations of cookie dough are amazing!

How lovely, cookie dough that you can eat without needing to bake it! (Well apart from heat treating the flour)  There are plenty of recipes to choose from the create the cookie doughs such as key lime pie, white chocolate chai or peanut butter.  This idea is great and even better than licking the bowl.

The book is split into two sections: firstly the cookie dough recipes of which there is over 50 to pick from and then there are around 20 things to make which combines the cookie dough with recipes such as a traditional cake, cupcake or an ice cream sandwich.  

The recipes are in both imperial and metric measurements.  There is some colour photography of the cookie doughs and the things to make section.

Included is how long the cookie dough will last, which varies from a couple of weeks to a month at room temperature, but looking at them I'm quite sure they won't last very long before they are scoffed!

I really enjoyed the concept of this and the one recipe I did try was very enjoyable, we don't have a microwave which made heat treating the flour difficult. Definitely one to pull out for parties.

This has to be the brightest, boldest, most beautiful cookbook I have ever seen. The presentation is amazing. The pictures make you feel like you can grab it and eat it. The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook by Olivia Hops is a beautiful work of art consisting of 75 different and incredibly delicious cookie dough recipes. The detailing of the recipes and explanations of cookie dough and the importance of the safety of cooking, especially when it comes to the flour was informative but easy to follow. Beautiful cookbook sure to delight those with a sweet tooth.

I have always been a big fan of cookie dough and I love that this book offers many different recipes to try!

I didn't know the joy that was cookie dough until I met my husband., which is funny because I have a crazy sweet tooth.  The first time I made him a batch of chocolate chip cookies, I expected to get over 40 cookies... I ended up with half that because he had eaten or put aside so much of the dough for himself. He's always been happy eating the raw egg (and flour) mixture, especially because I've tried a variety of 'edible' cookie dough recipes online and nothing was quite right. The FIRST batch I made of chocolate chip cookie dough was an instant success! Not wanting to stop a good thing, I do tend to make the same recipe over and over again. I am so excited about the simplicity of these recipes though that birthday cake dough and white chocolate chai dough are next :)

I am NOT a cook. Not a baker... I can follow directions, but I tend to guesstimate on things, which inevitably end up making something completely different haha. I also realize that by doing this, I'm not following the directions at all, haha. In fact, with the first batch I made of cookie dough, I was short on two ingredients, but it still tasted amazing. 

There are so many different kinds of dough in this cookbook- directions are easy to follow, and the pictures are beautiful! I want to try flavors that I would otherwise generally not bother trying (I mentioned white chocolate chai, right? ;) )

I am SO happy with this book and am very thankful to Netgalley, Quarto Publishing Group- Havard Common Press, and of course Olivia Hops for an ARC of this cookbook. I have honestly never been as excited to go through a cookbook as I have been for this one!

This is a book on how to eat cookie dough safely without fear of getting sick. It has 75 different recipes from Chocolate Chip  to Cookie Dough Sundae. The author tells you step by step how to do this and the illustrations make you want to try each one. Since there is no baking (author says they will melt) it is great as a treat any time of year. I especially want to try the Apple Pie Cookie Dough, Snickerdoodle Coffee Cake, Unicorn Cookie Dough and Cannoli Cookie Dough. Since I love to try new recipes and techniques this book will keep me busy for a while.

My mouth was watering the entire time I read this. The photographs present a series of delectable looking scoops of cookie dough in a rainbow of colours I didn't think was possible in dough. This goes way beyond chocolate chip, with matcha tea, tiramisu, strawberry coconut daiquiri, apple pie ... there are 75 recipes so I could go on, but they're each different and look amazing.

I've only had time to try one (oatmeal), which was excellent. I halved the recipe because I was planning on eating it by myself and it all worked out very well.

The latter part of the book is filled with things you can do with your cookie dough, beyond eating it with a spoon (although that's a perfectly reasonable thing to do). Hops fills cakes with it, makes it into a dip, uses it to top pancakes, among other things. Really the only thing you can't do with it is turn it into cookies.

A couple of downsides to this book:

-Home bakers will apparently struggle to get the correct texture without an mechanical mixer, and all the flour amounts are tailored to those using mixers. Elbow grease did the job, but Hops warns that cooks will have to guess the amount of flour required. I don't know if I got the texture and flour quantity right in mine, but I do know it tasted amazing anyway.

-The 'heat treated flour' method requires a microwave. For those of you living with only 2 square feet of counter space you don't want to give up just to make cookie dough (though it's tempting), there is a way to heat treat flour with only an oven! Just spread the flour on a baking tray and bake for 5 minutes at 180C/350F.

Still, this is such a great book and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to make fast, sweet, treats.

So many delicious sounding recipes for safe to eat cookie dough. Such a game changer in our house being edible without the risk of getting sick from eating raw cookie dough. Recipes are also easy to make and fun to do with kids.

A delightful recipe book that is perfect for making those quick sugar fixes we all crave every so often. The recipes are easy to read and follow. I'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes with my children very soon.

How can you not love this book?! It has so many delicious, mouth watering cookie dough recipes. I've never seen a book that was not only solely about cookie dough, but edible, raw cookie dough!

Not only does the cover pull you in with it's bright colors, but once you dig in you find so many different flavors to try for yourself. Easy to follow recipes, this will be a hit for all ages.

Based on Unbaked, the famous LA cookie dough bar, you will now be able to create your own cookie dough bar anywhere. I highly recommend this book to any and all cookie lovers out there!

This book was such a delight to flick through and really wetted my appetite. There were so many different varieties of cookie dough within the book and all looked good enough to eat in their photographs. The instructions were simple to follow and I couldn't help myself wanting to try every recipe.

one word....YUMMMMMM.... super easy to follow and my nieces loved the recipes as much as eating them. kiddos had no problem following these!

My husband has been a cookie dough addict forever...now he can have more than just chocolate chip!  The recipes are easy to follow.  I made several of them with my grandson and he had no trouble with the directions, or eating the results.  These will make excellent additions to my Christmas candy boxes for relatives and senior care residents.

The Edible Cookie Dough Cookbook is nothing short of amazing. It features so many different recipes and ways to use the dough. Me and my family can't wait to try them out. I'm considering doing every single recipe just to say we did it! I highly recommend this book!!

Eating cookie dough is always a good time, so when I saw this book I just had to check it out. The mouth watering pictures combined with the amazing recipes in this, really make it something special. I didn't know there were so many kinds! Inside this book isn't just recipes for edible cookie dough, it's also full of tips and tricks, how to heat treat the flour so you don't get sick, other things you can make with the cookie dough (though you can't actually bake it) and even some backstory from the author about how she got to where she is today and what she had to do to make it happen.

This book is amazing, and I'd love to buy a paper copy just to have around in case I feel like making edible cookie dough. It surprisingly lasts a really long time in or out of the fridge, and I can't want to see how they taste, because they look so good in the pictures. I'm glad I got the chance to check this out, and everything looks so easy to make. It's not too long and not too short, and it doesn't read like a textbook. Definitely check this out if you love cookie dough.

Do you secretly like to eat cookie dough? Of course you do. This book will allow you to do so safely, using heat-treated flour and avoiding eggs. Full-color photos look good enough to eat, and recipes range from classic (birthday cake) to adventurous (white chocolate chai).

Clear instructions, easy and yummy recipes. What's not to love about this book? I'm really glad I got the chance to ready it.

So. Tasty. After eating edible cookie dough in San Francisco out of a food truck, I have been rather obsessed.

These easy to follow recipes are fun and delicious! highly recommend for anyone who really only makes the cookies to eat the dough, as these are designed to be eaten as dough and avoid raw eggs etc.

I really enjoyed this cookbook. The recipes were ones I would actually make and not hard to follow. I have several lined up to make now.

I have to say that I fell in love with the idea of this book before I even read it!

By just reading the tittle, I was taken back years ago to my silly childhood when I would lick the spoon my mom used to mix the cookie dough. Or run my finger over a bowl almost empty with the hope of grabbing just a tiny bit more of that delicious raw cookie dough.

When I grew up and was able to make cookies by myself, I always took a spoonful of raw cookie dough before baking the cookies. It was a real treat for me.

Later in life, I was told that eating cookie dough raw has a dangerous potential.
I didn't stop my habit that quickly, but gradually I stopped eating raw cookie dough.

Until I found this little gem, that not only has 75 magnificent recipes. But also a set of instructions to make your cookie dough safe to be eaten raw!
That list of steps, is so valuable for me, because after years of avoiding eating any more raw cookie dough, I can finally get back to my delicious treat that reminds me of a happy childhood without the fears that accompany it.

Although I haven't tried all 75 recipes, I spied over every recipe to have a taste of what is included in this book.
And each recipe seams more fun to try than the one before. So much potential!

Although I think that nothing can beat a traditional sugar cookie, or chocolate chip cookie, I'm also very exited to try more and more of the recipes in this book.

Not only I want to eat raw, as the book was intended, but I'm also very curious as how each dough will taste like when baked. After all they are cookie recipes.

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to safely eat raw cookie dough.

All the recipes are easy to follow, you get plenty of ideas, and overall a big variety!
It will probable take me years to try every single one, as cookies is not something I would make on a daily basis. But this just means there is a lot of fun to look forward to.

I also consider this book to be a fun gift. I know my sister would appreciate in enormously, also missing the old days of raw cookie dough fiesta. And in the same manner I'm sure you also know someone that would be delighted with this book.

The first and most important step in making cookie dough edible without making you ill isn't just not including any eggs, but heat-treating the flour.  I never knew!

Filled with photographs and festive and fun recipes that look mighty TASTY, most with very few ingredients.

She includes alternative ways to use the dough, such as cookie dough ice cream sandwiches.

My favorites by far were the tiramisu and canoli.

As a child, we always ate cookie dough out of the bowl.  It was better than the cookies themselves.  Corporate farming and unsafe ingredients have robbed kids of that great pleasure.  This cookbook brings that joy back to all of us.  Eat that cookie dough!!!!

I LOVED cookie dough as a child. I remember waiting patiently as my grandmother would make peanut butter cookies and I'd swipe a handful of dough knowing there was a 50/50 chance I might get sick later but, it was worth it.

This book brought back many happy memories. Other than eggs, I was also fascinated to learn that flour could be a cause for getting sick too and the author tells you how to heat your flour to prevent it. There are some delicious recipes and the pictures of the recipes look soooooo yummy. I can't wait to try out some to them! There are also instructions on how to store the dough and some creative ideas on how to serve it. I think I might try to convince people that they are eating ice cream before they actually dig into the dough!

This book was a pleasant surprise. I've never loved niche cookbooks, nor am I a person who loves cookie dough so much as to make it just to eat on its own. But this was a cookbook that I happily read cover to cover, and it actually made me excited to get into the kitchen to make my own edible cookie dough. If you can make homemade cookies, you can make your own edible cookie dough, which is basically just a blend of butter, flour, and sugar with various mix-ins. Olivia Hops teaches you how to make it the safe way, without butter and with heat-treated flour.

The recipes include classic flavors, such as chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal, and birthday cake. Everything you'd expect a cookie dough bar to offer. But there are also intriguing and unusual flavors such as white chocolate chai, mango tajin, lemon cardamom, and strawberry coconut daiquiri. There's a flavor for even the pickiest person, but I honestly bookmarked all of them. After she goes through her cookie dough flavors, she even includes recipes that use her cookie dough, such as layer cakes with cookie dough filling, cookie dough truffles, and cookie dough stuffed between baked cookies.

Her suggestion to use cookie dough as a filling inside a layer cake really spoke to me. Soon enough, I was making a chocolate layer cake with Olivia Hops' chocolate chip cookie dough and a chocolate Swiss meringue frosting. The cookie dough came together quicker than I expected and tasted exactly like cookie dough. I enjoy cookie dough now and then, but as I said earlier, it isn't something I would snack on regularly. Especially this cookie dough, as it's mostly sugar and fat. That said, if you are a cookie dough lover, you will be over the moon. It even has the gritty texture that cookie dough normally has. It spread like a dream between my cake layers, and made a beautifully decadent filling. The cookie dough recipe made the perfect amount for a decent sized cake filling layer.

I'm excited to make more recipes in this book, especially the peanut butter cookie dough. I can imagine these recipes being a staple of girls' nights for my cookie-dough-loving friends or even a sweet gift for a friend, as Hops says most of the recipes should last two weeks at room temperature.

The cookbook itself is fun, colorful, and bright. It's a pleasure to read and the perfect length. This is one of those books that I didn't know I needed until after I read it, but I would definitely recommend adding this to your collection if you're a fan of sweets.

I love this so so much, I’m glad I ran across this. I’ve always had the paradox of liking to eat cookie dough, but knowing at any time I could catch a crippling case of food poisoning. This book allows me to enjoy cookie dough but do it safely, it also showed me a myriad of ways I could prepare cookie dough more creatively than just chocolate chip. I’m a fan for life!

I tried several recipes with my kids and we've all enjoyed them a lot. They're all very easy and fun to make. I have already recommended this cookbook to my family and friends. My only criticism is that most of the cookie doughs in this book can not be baked into cookies. But I guess the point is for these cookie doughs to be eaten without cooking so that's OK.

I have always loved cookie dough. So, when I heard about this book, I had to get it. And I have learned some wonderful information through it. 

Author and owner of Unbaked: A Cookie Dough Bar in Los Angeles, Olivia Hops, starts off, THE EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH COOKBOOK with a cookie dough primer. An everything-you-need-to-know-about-cookie-dough tutorial. It’s very information. And taught me a lot that I didn’t know.
In Chapter one you’ll find the cookie dough recipe. Such as, a regular Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and a Gluten Free version, Matcha Green Tea Cookie Dough, Apple Pie Cookie Dough (for the sake of saving time and space, I’ll leave the word cookie dough out of the next recipes. Just know, they are all dough), Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Bar, Coconut, Oreo, Monster, Banana Pudding, Caramel Macchiato, Eggnog, Maple Bacon, Not Just For Doggies, and more.

Chapter two you’ll find recipes of things you can make with cookie dough. Things like, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Brownies, Edible Cookie Dough Truffles, Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwiches, Cookie Dough Pretzel Bites, Cookie Dough-Stuffed Cupcakes, are just a few.

There are full page, color photos of all the sweet goodness between this books covers. You’ll be on a sugar high for sure just looking at them. Some of them so pretty they should be framed. 

Okay, I have a major sweet tooth. I had a doughnut before writing this review. With that being said, I could never eat cookie in the portions suggested in this book. I’d be sick for a week. However, I did come away with some amazing new cookie recipes that I can’t wait to try out! 

Of you’re a fan of cookie dough or cookie, you’ll certainly want a copy of, THE EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH COOKBOOK.

First off yum! I found several recipes in this book that my family will and has enjoyed. The recipes had ingredients that most kitchens have and the directions were very easy to follow. Really nice cookbook

The book starts with an introduction explaining why Olivia Hops started making edible cookie dough, is it safe to eat?, and some overall ideas and tips about this cookie dough.  She also explains how to treat flour to prevent e coli and other possible bacteria…an important first step to all recipes.  And then on to the recipes, each recipe starts with a story or memory about how the recipe came about which were fun to read.  And each recipe contains a picture which I really like in a cookbook.  The recipes are all relatively easy to make and all I tried were delicious.

Some of my favorites are: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (the classic, but now safe to actually eat as dough), Lemon Bar Cookie Dough, Brownie Batter Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, Pink Lemonade Cookie Dough, and Maple Bacon Cookie Dough.  After the dough recipes, comes a chapter on how to use the doughs – as frosting, on brownies, on ice cream, etc.  

I really enjoyed this cookbook and think it will be a unique addition to any cookbook collection.  Cookies are old school, try some cookie dough instead.

My friend and I love cookie dough and this has made me feel better about our nights watching movies while stuffing our faces. The recipes are fun and different without being too complicated. The pictures are also attractive which makes this a fun book to browse through.

This was a very fun and accessible cookbook. The various options for what to put in your dough were creative, as were the recipes using the dough in another baked good. I’m not a great chef but I was able to successfully create my own edible chocolate chip dough, much to my daughter’s delight.  Our teen librarian ordered this title based on my review.
