Description

Christmas on the remote Scottish island of Mure is bleak, stark - and incredibly beautiful.

It's a time for hunkering down, getting cosy in front of whisky barrel wood fires, and enjoying a dram with the people you love - unless, of course, you're accidentally pregnant to your ex-boss, and don't know how to tell him. In what should be the season of peace and goodwill on earth, will Joel think Flora is a bearer of glad tidings?

Meanwhile Saif, the doctor and refugee from war-torn Syria is trying to enjoy his first western Christmas with his sons - but without his missing wife. Can the little family possibly find comfort and joy?

Travel to the beautiful northern edge of the world and join the welcoming community of Mure for an unforgettable Christmas.

I have previously read the other books in this series, and enjoyed them. This is book 4, and I think that the previous books in the series should be read first to get full enjoyment from them.
I always enjoy Jenny's books, they are always a pleasure to read, and I love to see what happens next to the characters, each book leaves you wanting to know what happens nexr. This book is no exception. I really hope that there will be another book set in Mure.

Flora has a lot on her mind, she has just found out that she is pregnant, and while she is very hapoy, she is not sure that her boyfriend Joel will react. She is also trying to organise a big family Christmas, knowing that it is very likely to be her brother-in-laws last Christmas. Meanwhile, the Island Doctor Saif misses his missing wife, and is trying his best to give his Sons a good first Christmas, even though he is not sure how. He is not sure whether he should stay living in Mure, as he has feelings of guilt and grief that he is trying to get on with life without his wife.
The setting in Mure is lovely, especially at Christmas time. This book is heartening and romantic. It has a lovely feeling in community spirit, with everyone helping out. There are parts of this book which are very sad, but they are dealt with in a well written and sympathetic way. The Title is short, and doesn't give much away, but this is a brilliant book, and I really hope that it's not the end of the series.
