After a divorce, Monique needs money to support her two daughters. Drowning in debt, she looks for a way to make money while she tries to write a book. . Her friend, Amanda tells her about a website to hook up with a sugar daddy who will help pay her bills. Hoping for a long term arrangement, she sees men from all over the world. The story of the travel and adventures she has are really interesting. This book tells of the men she dates, how uncertain this life style is and what happens to a woman who tries something unconventional to raise her kids. Spicy sex. Interesting topic that I think many people want to know more about. I received this book from Net Galley and Thistle Publishing for a honest review and no compensation otherwise.

Sugar by Monique X, is a splendid read. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book at first, but after reading several chapters I couldn't put it down. Every story leaves you wanting more. Following the life of Monique as she dives in the Sugar Daddy world. She is a single mother lookignnafte two girls. Her only job is being a sugar babe. She does what she can to provide for her girls and has fun doing it along the way. This was a fast read, that makes me want a second Sugar book. I wished the were more detailed stories and accounts in this book, but for what its worth you are given just the right amount of detial and mystery to leave you wanting more.

I want to thank Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was actually quite addictive, fun, that little bit different.

Memoir, my favourite genre. Mostly medical, travel, and moving abroad memoirs. This is not my usual type, but I enjoyed finding out more about a different world I didn't know about. And a normal, everyday person who ended up in it. She'd had some hard times; relationship issues, divorce, money problems, mounting debts, and she had two young daughters to support.

So began the author's secret life, and a way to make some much needed money. She was encouraged to go for it by her friend Amanda, a school friend, who had been an escort, had gone to Paris, modelling, had done well for herself.

This was honest and revealing. I soon got into the book and had to keep reading. It was very easy to read, the words just started tumbling out and I was gripped. I like how this book wasn't just sex all the time-not straight to it-about 17% before an appearance. I couldn't stop reading it. It was curiously entertaining.

There is quite a bit of travel in this book: To Barcelona, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Greece, Japan. Travelling, and experiencing the cuisine. I really enjoyed this. But there were quite a few mistakes which interrupted my reading flow, otherwise, it's a very good book.

It won't appeal to everyone but I enjoyed it. There are explicit scenes, but not too many, not all the time-and there's certainly far more to the book including travels. Certainly, nothing in it offended me or made me want to stop reading -quite the contrary-I was intrigued how things would continue and it was a fun and addictive read.

Sugar was a very very steamy read. I definitely sat reading on the couch with the tips of my ears a bright red - especially if there were other people in the room. It was exciting right until the end.

Monique leads a quite the double life: on the one hand she's a loving mom, who wants to create a "hyggelig" home for her two daughters. On the other hand she's a Sugar Babe who discovers a whole new side to sex during her days as a SB. This isn't a day/night thing, because she also meets her Sugar Daddies during the day, when the kids are at school. Nevertheless, Monique never forgets to take care of her kids. Because of this, I read this book with a big respect for Monique. She merely does what she feels like she has to do to survive and it's getting hard to stop. Eventually it becomes more of a lifestyle and Monique notices that she ends up only thinking about money to get by.

Although I was never bored while reading Sugar, it still was a little repetitive at times. She decides to meet a Sugar Daddy (a new or previous one), meets him and eventually goes home to her girls. It was only in hindsight that I noticed this though! In this repetitive, yet super exciting, life, the reader can still notice that Monique goes through a huge personality change while still being Monique. Where she was a obedient woman at the start of the story, she knows what she wants at the end and isn't afraid to ask for it.

All in all, I really liked reading Sugar. Maybe especially since it's a memoir, so it's all based on true events! It was fun to read about Monique's travels to lots of different countries and about the different personalities she meets. I have to note, though, that eventually Monique ends up as an escort rather than a Sugar Babe. In the end it's all about money and sex, but fortunately, that didn't make the story less enjoyable!

A very interesting book, loved and really enjoyed the reading. Strongly recommend the book if you are into page turning books.

I devoured this book! Sugar is filled with a peek into the Sugar Baby/Daddy World that you cannot look away. I was craving an Erotica book and Sugar filled the spot. The book began with the main character getting ready for her date then the book went back to the past for how she emerged as a Sugar Baby then it never went back to The Current/Future.

The book is not really a romantic Happily Ever Romance, but it is filled with some book porn scenes...

All in all the book engaged me despite some of the writing as I was curious about this Sugar World that's not exactly an escort but at times it felt like it...

A steamy smoking hot romance book that will leave you breathless and wanting more from this author. Great characters are heartwarming. Love this book.

I really enjoyed Sugar. Monique held my interest with her experiences and made it as if she were sitting next to you telling her story and adventures. As a single Mom I cheered her on with taking her freedom back from her horrible marriage.
Her adventures as a Sugar Babe were erotic, yet at times heart warming .

This book was first of the kind for me. I heard and have noticed the trend for call girl and escort memoirs and even watched an episode of 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl' (the only reason I watched it was because the lead role was played by spouse of the cute guy who plays detective in Lewis))). Go figure).

Anyhow, Sugar was my first experience with such memoirs of the culture of 'love-for-hire'. And I have to admit, I read the book in one go. I was really interested in the main character's reasoning, in her feelings and emotions, in her duality.

The main character Monique is Oxford educated single mother of two girls chooses the life of Sugar Dating or rather the life chooses her. I still do not understand this choice completely but I have come to respect it. From my own position of university-educated single mother of one (I've been through similar hell of a marriage as well). However, Monique and I made different choices...

Monique Sugar Dates for 2 years and that's it. She comes out on the other end a changed woman... Good luck to her.

The book is an interesting re-course into human psychology and human nature. There are a few sentences that I think I will re-use as quotes, they are so spot on.

Sugar is the book for women, for grown-up women with life choices and life experiences behind us. It is one more view on life, people, love, relationship and what sells and what's given.

It is not about approving or disapproving 'love-for-hire' or criticizing sex for sale. The author is not asking us to. It is not up to us, readers, to judge. The choice is made. And we are shown in detail what it means to go with such a choice.

A worthy read.

Once the author's sugar dating life began, what a read this became! It was pure guilty pleasure to read about how she managed so many different gentlemen at the same time.

Was not what I was expecting. Read like a memoir, although it was well written, just was not my usual style I like to read. Some hot moments but overall, it just wasn’t for me. I’m sure others will find it more engaging than I did.

3.5 Stars
Sugar by Monique X is really a Memoir of a mother trying to support her kids by taking the life of a Sugar Babe. It retails her hot encounters and what she had to do. Overall enjoyed the book, but it was something different than what I expected.

Sugar was beckoning at me to be read, initially by the eye-catching and attractive cover and that it looked like it would be a very steamy read, as indeed it was. I was definitely not disappointed! I was smitten from the very first, right until the last page.

Monique is a loving single mother, who is trying to create a happy home for her two daughters and she's also a Sugar Babe, dating wealthy men, a practice known as Sugar Daddy dating. She mostly meets her Sugar Daddies during the day, when the children are at school or when they are with their father. Monique finds a thousand pounds in her purse after one night of passionate and very hot sex, and she realises that Sugar Daddy dating could be her way to survive as a single mother.

A heady life of wealthy men, luxury hotels and glamorous experiences ensue. One of my favourites was Iranian engineer Farshad, who liked to lavish Monique with gifts such as expensive jewellery and leather boots and wine and dine her in exotic restaurants.

Dates with Sugar Daddies see her flying to Paris, Barcelona, Vienna, Milan, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong and skydiving in Dubai. Thanks to her Sugar Daddies, Monique can provide for her children, she has some independence, and experiences a whole new range of sexual fantasies.

She deactivates her account with her agency, Seeking Arrangement, and her ex-husband stops paying for the children's' upkeep. She is then prepared to do anything for the sake of her children. Money becomes her top priority and she starts living in the dangerous waters of the escort world. Now she realises that she must find a way out before this hollow existence becomes a habit.

I absolutely loved reading Sugar. Maybe it was the novelty of reading a book told as memoirs and based on true events. It was fascinating to read about Monique's travels to different countries and about the different nationalities, cultures and personalities of the gentlemen she dated. However, she ends up working as an escort rather than a Sugar Babe, as it's all about basic survival instincts, money and very spicy sex.

Sugar is steamy and hot, passionate and caring, intense and emotional and there are definitely moments where you will laugh. It is such a fun, fast and interesting read.

Monique X is a brilliant storyteller and really draws you in with her descriptiveness.

Thanks to NetGalley and Thistle Publishing for my ARC.

I enjoyed this read to some degree. The author stuck to her own voice and (prose) style throughout when writing about her own experiences. Yes, the subject might not be for everybody but to Monique I will say thank you for telling your story.

This was a fascinating read about the Sugar/escort world.
Our main character shows us the good and bad sides of this world. We see how it goes from being fun to just being like any other job, and how lines get skewed the longer she is in this world.

What I liked best about this book is how unashamed it all felt. The main character enjoys what she does for the most part, and never does something she doesn't want to do it seems. Sure she's not always loving it, but she finds things to like or at least to justify why she keeps being a sugar babe.

The world of Sugar babes, Geisha, and escorts is one that can be fascinating when its written like this. This book while it does have sex scenes they aren't the main focus of it. The main focus is our main character showing us her world before, during, and after having become a sugar babe.

I was pleasantly surprised at how this book played out. I did not expect to fall in love with a book as quickly as I did with this one. Rated 4 stars and would recommend.

I enjoyed this book. The main character Monique sufffers childhood trauma, and an awful marriage to end up as a happy single mom living her life for herself and her daughters. The various countries Monique visits were so beautifully detailed in the book, I actually put them on my bucket list as places to visit. While Monique starts off a bit timid, by the end of the book she is a confident woman who doesn’t care what others think and takes her own sexuality into her own hands. If you dont like explicit sexual scenes this may not be the book for you. I did find myself sometimes frustrated with the main character as she continuously put herself in situations that made her almost have to continue dealing with sugar daddies. I was on edge wondering if Monique was going to end up in a situation with a dangerous sugar daddy as she frequently went home or to hotels with men she did not even know. This book is definitely an adventure for the main character and the reader.

Sugar" eBook was published in 2018 and was written by Monique X.

I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Mature Situations and Mature Language. This is the autobiography of Monique.

Monique is recently divorced, the mother of two young girls, around 40, and having financial problems. To have some much-needed fun and to help her through her hard financial times she turns to 'Sugar Dating'. That is, she begins dating wealthy older gentlemen with an expectation of their financial 'assistance'.

She meets several different men and travels around the world to 'date' them. Some of her experiences are better than others. She very definitely distinguishes what she is doing as different from being a Call Girl. They simply take the money and 'perform', while she as a 'sugar babe' establishes a personal relationship with her 'dates'.

I found the 7 hours I spent reading this 328-page biography were interesting. This is not the normal kind of book I would choose to read, but when I was approached by the publisher I decided to give it a try. I found Monique's trips abroad to be interesting as I have been to many of the places she visits. This is not going to be a book for everyone as she does go into mild details of her sexual experiences with her 'dates'. I did find the book on the whole to be a bit of a slow read. I do like the selected cover art. I give this novel a 3.6 (rounded up to a 4) out of 5.

First book from this author as well as the storyline. I have to say that all in all, I enjoyed it.

This book is about a woman who has fallen on some hard times and needs to find a way to support her family. On a suggestion from her friend, Monique jumps Into a world she has never known and searches for a Sugar Daddy.

This book read more like a memoir than a standard novel. The author depicts the life of a Sugar Baby and all that it entails, global traveling, luxurious purchases, interesting rich men and explicit sex.

I would not say this is a romantic book but more of an erotic tale (which is perfectly fine by me) and it makes for a fast paced, entertaining read.

To me it just needed a little extra something to put it at a five star read but at the end of the day I would recommend this book.

This book is a easy read all about the sugar baby/daddy world. I found it really good and hated to put it down at times. If you want an easy book that will allow you to get lost into a different world this book is for you.

A fascinating insight into the sugar lifestyle, and how easy it can slip from being new and exciting, to being desperate and forcing yourself to do things you swore you'd never do in order to put food on the table.
Just as apt a synopsis for this book would be one woman's very impressive struggle (and success) at leaving her deadbeat ex, and making a new home for herself and her two children. Finding it difficult to support herself with a waitressing job, a friend (who is a former high-class escort) points her down the road of the sugar life, and away she goes !
Some of it is a tad repetitive, and Monique seems very defensive, almost - she spends a lot more of her time feeling guilty than maybe she should.
Definitely worth a read through, either out of interest or sheer morbid curiousity. Personally, I think she managed brilliantly considering the situation that she was left in.

Many thanks to Netgalley for the ARC, which received in exchange for my honest review.

This book was all about our character Monique and her life as a single mother as well as her life
as a sugar baby. She talks about how she balanced the two and when being a sugar baby was like for her.
This was a topic that I've heard about before but it was really interesting to read about it and get a deeper
meaning. I do think however that the whole thing is a little selfish and greedy but hey to each their own.
I found it interesting how casually she talks about accepting money from strangers to be their arm candy
almost. The thing I liked the most about this book however was how she had both a positive view and also
expressed her concerns in the beginning so you know the whole thing wasn't candy and roses. What I didn't like
about this book however was how our main character caved on her morals after like the first day doing this
sugar baby thing.I also found her very reckless with her life and her beliefs especially considering she was
a mother with two young children to worry about. It made her feel a little weak minded. Very interesting read and thank you NetGalley and Thistle Publishing for letting me read this.novel.

I enjoyed this book. It was definitely a fast steamy read. It was fun to read about where Monique was going to travel. I think I would have enjoyed some more detailed scenes or maybe make them a little steamier. Overall this was a fun read that I would recommend.
