The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook

Containing fifty delicious sounding recipes, the Gluten-free Instant Pot Cookbook is both a flavor booster and a time saver for gluten-free cooks.

Beginning with a cheesy poblano frittata breakfast, savory creamy polenta and various soups like spicy butternut squash, this cookbook has a bit of everything. Who knew you could make lasagna in an instant pot? Or saffron risotto (with no more endless stirring)? The dessert chapter sounds particularly yummy filled with tasty treats like rice and bread pudding plus a to-die-for double chocolate fudge cheesecake. There are also easy bone broths for paleo fans.

Recipes are clearly labeled with other common allergens like dairy, egg, soy and nut. There are vegan and vegetarian recipes included too. The only issue I have is the total lack of pictures or nutritional information. The pictures can be found on the author’s Heritage Cook food blog so I’m not sure why they aren’t in the book.

The recipes are surprisingly innovative. For example, the Shrimp and Grits recipe uses the Pot’s saute function to cook the aromatics first. The sauce is then covered with a trivet and bowl to cook the grits. After a short time, the grits are removed and the shrimp is added to the sauce for heating. It is very innovative to cook everything in one instant pot making the Gluten-free Instant Pot Cookbook a perfect gift for a college student with an instant pot but little else to cook within a dorm room.

The recipes are worth 5 stars. However, the complete lack of pictures and nutritional information brings my rating down to 4.

I love my Instant Pot as it cooks without making my un-air-conditioned kitchen’s temperature not go up a single degree! (and it will NEVER BLOW UP LIKE MY OLD ONE DID…SPAGHETTI SAUCE ALL OVER EVERY SURFACE OF MY KITCHEN!!!!) I have made everything from chicken stock (aka bone broth for you hipsters) 
I happen to LOVE gluten but with so many people on that bandwagon, I find more and more that I need to make gluten-free meals for guests. This book looks amazing and what I like is that is you DO eat gluten, you can make most of these recipes. 
I do have a problem with the price, though – 74 pages for $19.99 USD ($26 CAD) is way too much IMHO … and for that, I am giving the book 3 stars. I realize that there is tonnes of effort and research and making things over and over in test stages but that is just way too much money for what I would calla large pamphlet.

Fascinating cookbook with a number of ideas that I never thought possible with a pressure cooker. Cheesecake who knew!! I can’t wait to start using this cooker for something other than vegetables for my Sunday roast in it.

Gluten free recipes are so hard to get right, I’m super excited to try these! I love the instant pot and the recipes look really great.

As a full time working mother of children with dietary restrictions, I'm always looking for new weeknight recipes that are 1) gluten free for my oldest son, and 2) are quick to make with relatively minimal clean up (thank you, Instant Pot!).  I recommend this book if you're looking to add to your Instant Pot recipe list, but felt that more pictures of the finished products would have pushed this to a five star review  What can I say, I'm a visual person (especially when it comes to my food)!

The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook is a good addition to the library of any Instant Pot/Electric Pressure Cooker family.  There are some great recipes in this book, and all are gluten-free.  The authors have a very detailed introduction to Instant Pot cookers in general, helping to dispel the fears of the many cooks that have bought Instant Pots, but have never opened the box.  The recipes are broken into logical sections:  Beguiling Breakfasts, Appealing Appetizers, Spectacular Soups and Stews, etc.  There are even sections for Desserts and Basic Stocks.  The book ends with a very detailed index, which I think is vital in a good cookbook.  Each recipe is fairly detailed and well written, and there are many helpful tips from the authors sprinkled throughout.  What keeps this cookbook from being exceptional for me personally are two things: the lack of photos of ANY of the finished recipes--other than the cover, there are no photos in this book at all; and the lack of any nutritional information.  I may be alone, but I am often inspired to cook based on pictures in cookbooks and although many of these recipes sound good, without any pictures, I don't have quite the same eagerness to try them that I might otherwise.  I'm also someone who likes to see how my finished dish looks compared to the original to see if it looks "right", so the absence of photos affects me there, as well.  As for nutrition, maybe it's just me, but I was surprised not to see nutritional information in this cookbook.  These days, so many people are paying attention to nutritional content, and even restaurants are including in many states--it's included in many newer cookbooks, and it's noticeable when it's not included.  Other than those two things, I thought this was a good, well written, well organized cookbook.

This is a well balanced and lovely cookbook for any instant pot user. The skill level varies from beginner to advanced (something it might be helpful to indicate). There were a few recipes that I found to be unnecessary - something I find super common in instant pot cookbooks that often make a dish more complicated or laborious just for an excuse to use that kitchen tool - but on the whole I found most of the recipes to be useful and well worth it.  I'm very excited to try their artichoke method and the beef chili. I'm hoping the final release will include photographs of the dishes and not just drawings!

A fabulous cook book that I simply cannot wait to try all the tasty recipes from. Gluten is something that I really struggle with. It makes me feel sick and blotted and I really try to eat as little of it as possible. So for me this book is going to be one I go back to many many times.

If you have an Instant Pot and are on a Gluten-Free diet, this book is a must have. 

To start with there is a great Introduction with lots of information about equipment, tips and ingredients.

The recipes are easy to follow starting from Breakfast, Appetizers, Mains, Sides, Desserts through to Stocks and Grains.

Delicious recipes for everyone, even if you don't follow a Gluten-Free diet, only thing missing are some colourful pics, just because I love to look at the end product.

These recipes are just what I needed. My daughter is gluten free and I am looking for recipes to add to my small list of meals I currently cook glutin free. 
This book has everything from breakfasts to deserts and everything in between. I especially liked the suggestions of where to buy products  as well as product suggestions. 
Being able to make glutin free meals while using my Instapot is like winning the lottery.

The recipes were a nice assortment of appetizers, mains, sides, and desserts. The ingredients and preparation were reasonable, not a ton of unusual ingredients techniques were listed.
I also really liked that there were plenty of tips and useful information about electric pressure cookers, very helpful!

I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review from NetGalley and Quarto Publishing. 

This provides a great overview on pressure cooking in general which is helpful for those who are new to this technique. Also, makes recommendations on additional kitchen essentials as well as tips for successful use of pressure cooker. 

One of the interesting things is the use of other pans and accessories inside the pot. I am not familiar with this practice with my pressure cooker. It has enlightened my views of what is possible with my machine. 

It covers breakfast, appetizers and soups! It’s pretty comprehensive with options for pasta and entrees with side dishes and desserts. A great alternative for people who need to avoid gluten in their diet. It can be challenging sometimes to make enjoyable gluten free foods.

comprehensive book of recipes, gluten free of course, but many are also dairy free, nut free etc. - the authors have thought about how to keep allergens of different types out of the recipes.  There's an american focus of course but that's fine.  Good mix of the usual slow cooker stews etc, plus things like ribs, breakfasts and deserts.   Of course photos would greatly enhance this book - perhaps the publishers will consider this for future editions - but overall a worthwhile book for a GF collection.

this wasn't as new and excited as I assumed it would be but still good. this is a book that just because it says gluten free does not mean its overly healthy. I didn't pick up the book because I was gluten free or healthy but I presumed this could be a good Segway to cut some of my glutens out. this book is also wildly expensive!

A good selection of gluten-free recipes that can be made in the Instant Pot, an electric pressure cooker.  I enjoyed most of the recipes and thought this book would be a great addition to anyone who was eating gluten-free.

The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook,by Sara De Leeuw, Jane Bonacci is a recommended one for both the beginners and  not any less for more experienced ones.

If you’re struggling with ways to keep your food gluten free and you have a pressure cooker, then this is the book that you need to read. Although I don’t have a pressure cooker, it really interests and scares me. The book itself is a super quick read without any pictures, and gives you all the information you could possibly need to begin.

This book isn’t here to mess around, and that’s apparently through the quick instructions and the lack of pictures. Although personally I do like to compare what I made to a picture, it’s not necessary if you’re just looking to dive right into delicious recipes. Not only does the book give you exactly that, but it also explains why it’s better to use a pressure cooker, and all the parts of it as well as how to use it safely.

One of the most important things that this book teaches you, in my opinion, is how to make a gluten free flour blend. I thought you could just buy that kind of stuff, but it makes sense that it would be better if you could make your own. I think that even if you don’t have a pressure cooker, you could probably work around the recipes to make them on a stove top, or even the oven. They’re not very complicated, but they sound delicious.

Something that really interested me was the pumpkin black bean chili, because I’m not sure what it would be like to have pumpkin in your chili. Other things included in this book are frittata’s, oatmeal, and even home made sausage. The book is really interesting, just a little bland to look at. I would definitely buy this for myself, or a gluten free friend or family member. I can’t wait to make some of these recipes.

This book helped me cook for our friends and relatives who don't eat gluten, and the Instant Pot makes it wonderfully quick!  We didn't make all of the recipes yet, but those that we tried were very good!

A wonderful and much needed Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook. I am so thankful that Jane Bonacci wrote this wonderful cookbook for those of us who are Gluten Free. A cookbook loaded with Breakfast recipes, appetizers, Soups and Stews, Grains, Pasta, main dishes, seasonal dishes, desserts and even basic stocks. I think this is a great cookbook for those who are new to the pressure cooker because it talks about how to choose a pressure cooker, how they work, different aspects of the pressure cooker, pressure release methods and basic equipment versus special accessories. Some of my favorite recipes are Cheesy Poblano Frittata, Sweet Potato and Egg Caribbean Breakfast Burritos, Steamed Artichokes with spicy Garlic Aioli, Dreamy Creamy Tomato Soup, Creamy Mac and Cheese with crispy Bacon (yum), Classic Lasagna with meat sauce and Individual Key Lime Cheesecakes.

Great book with some interesting ideas, I don't think you have to be gluten free to enjoy the recipes - easy to follow recipes and quick and convenient cooking for people who are pushed for time.

This 144-page cookbook includes breakfast, appetizers, soup, main dishes, desserts, and more.  It’s all delicious sounding and gives you all the information you need to be successful.  This book starts out with some helpful pressure cooker information, gives a base recipe for GF flour that will be helpful to have on hand, and then moves into the meals.  At the beginning of each recipe, she teaches you about gluten and I found that to be really helpful.  The pages have food drawings of different ingredients and not full-color pictures of the final product.  Next, on my list of having to make from this cookbook is her rendition of Beef Barley Soup where she swaps out the barley, because that’s not GF, and puts in whole Sorghum instead.  I love that she makes things that are all-time favorites in gluten-free ways.
