Description

Dr. Leonid Altshuler is a U.S. board-certified psychiatrist who went through years of misdiagnosis and suffering from high blood pressure, digestion problems, anxiety and insomnia, before he discovered an innate connection between diet, insulin resistance and physical and mental illnesses.

Dr. Altshuler sees women patients of different ages every week in his office.

They come with different complains, but most often with severe depression, anxiety and chronic insomnia. Many women also suffer from hormonal inbalances and problems with their menstrual cycle.

He sees many women in their 50s who experience perimenopause, which begins some years before menopause and they too have been experiencing depression, anxiety and insomnia as a result.

Some women in their 30s and early 40s are already experiencing perimenopause or even menopause.

Mental health symptoms in these women appear to be strongly connected to them having insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome, which contributes significantly to their hormonal inbalances.

In this book Dr. Altshuler shares his many years of knowledge and experience in the natural treatment of these conditions in women.

The natural treatment information provided in this book, is directed toward the healing of the whole body.

I have read this book several times. It leaves me wanting more information. I understand about the importance of maintain steady cortisone levels for women’s health, but I do worry that this book veers toward the self important Victorian surgeons view that women’s hysteria is the cause of all evil.
I think it needs more information and some examples.
I am interested in the thought that meditation could help.
