Great short stories and lovely graphics keep it fun and interesting. A great read, something different on offer from the usual comic books

Dream Daddy is one of my favorite video games, so me being a fan of this comic was highly likely. I absolutely loved it! I think prior knowledge of the game and characters will make the reading experience more enjoyable, but may not be necessary. But I also think everyone should go and play Dream Daddy because it's a great game. The various comics focus on one or two dads for the most part, introducing some new dads in a couple of the stories to stand in for the character the player would create while playing the game. All of the dads come together in the final story for an epic Dungeons and Dragons game, which might have been my favorite story. There is a wide variety of art styles represented in these comics, but they are all well drawn, and the scripts of the comics stick closely to the original tone of the game. Much Abird About Nothing was probably my favorite, as the college reunion plot felt like a cut scene from the game. I absolutely loved this, and will be buying it when it comes out. Play the game first, and then enjoy these fun adventures.

Thanks to Oni Press and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This charming Dream Daddy anthology will delight fans of the game and novices alike. Each chapter is filled with stories of supportive, affectionate neighbors and friends. The stories employ humor, drama, and a sprinkle of romance, which are all brought together in gorgeous artwork. Definitely recommended!

This was so wonderful and hilarious. The different art styles were gorgeous and the writing was so funny just like the game.

Much Abird About Nothing was so cute, Craig’s storyline was my very favorite in the game and this little story felt like it was taken directly from his story.

Let The Right Dad In was so so so good. I love that it set up a nice friendship trio that I desperately want to see more of.

My favorite was Dungeons & Daddies. Just perfect in every way. Every character got to show who they are. The writing and art was impeccable. Such a fitting adaptation of a wonderful game! I’m definitely going to buy this when it comes out.

This book will give you FEELS.

If you've never heard of Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, where have you been? The game first took the internet by storm back in 2017, thanks to its charming graphics, supportive YouTube community, and frankly adorable main cast. The latest addition to the extended universe brings us five stand-alone stories focusing on different dads, their kids, and their relationships with one another.

Based on the visual novel of the same name (where players dialogue choices would determine which character they could end up with, as well as how their relationship with their daughter would turn out), the latest collection of short comics brings back our favourite beautifully drawn guys and their adorable kids.

Set in a cul-de-sac in Maple Bay (where, conveniently, plenty of other hot, single dads live), Dream Daddy provides fans and new readers alike with even warmer, fluffy stories about their favourite characters from the game.

Charming, sweet, fluffy, with a surprising amount of feels and a consistent comedic undertone, the stories are surprisingly deep in places. A great slice-of-life comic, one of the biggest appeals for me with this comic collection is that it feels like mainstream romance. While I love LGBT+ romance stories that focus on big issues, it’s great to read a graphic novel that focuses more on the love, relationships and everyday antics of the characters.

With rounded characters and colourful artwork, you’ll probably get the most out of Dream Daddy if you’ve already played the game. While overall amazing, in one place in particular, it does fall into the ‘and it was all a dream’ cliche that, in my opinion, feels cheap and overused (but honestly? It’s a minor point in an otherwise charming volume).

I’d recommend Dream Daddy for Damien’s story alone (it’s pure fluff, delight and hilarity, and you should read it. Right now.) If you’re looking for a book filled with sweet friendships, family dynamics, and beautiful, quirky men just being themselves, this could be the book for you.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE DADS. I've played the Dream Daddy game one time for each dad option. The art is so well done and I'm glad to have more time with the Dads. Great stories for every dad!

This is exactly what I wanted from a Dream Daddy Graphic Novel. Each story has amazing drawings and very distinctly done drawings at that. If you know about the game and have enjoyed it in the past this is a must have graphic novels. It's incredibly good feeling and a fun time to read.

This was so fun! I hadn't played the game when I started reading this, even though it had been on my list since it was released, but I went out and bought it halfway through because I enjoyed this so much!

I loved Dream Daddy the game and the comic was just as wonderful. I loved learning more about Craig and seeing just how Damian and Robert became such good friends. This is the best, purest content I've consumed recently and it was so enjoyable. If you loved the game you'll love the book.

If you don’t already know, Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Comic Book is based off a dating simulator game called, Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator. If you are still unsure, Dream Daddy is a gay dating sim where you play a Dad who finds romance in his new neighbourhood.

If you were ever unsure, yes both the book and game are amazing.

The Dream Daddy comic book is a complied book of the five comics that are currently available. Each are a short little adventure that further explores the characters met in the Dream Daddy game. You don’t have to know the game to read the book but a knowledge of the characters going in does help.

The characters remain true to form with each retaining their individual and endearing natures. The stories told in the book range from romantic in nature, (‘Much Abird about Nothing’) to the trials of fatherhood (‘Fair Deal’) with a good old Dungeons and Dragons game thrown in for good measure (‘Dungeons & Daddies’).

The stand out comic for me though was ‘Let the Right Dad In’ which featured two characters from the game that I hadn’t really connected with, but this new comic made me see in a different light. Due to this really cute, funny, and strange comic I’m going to return to the game and give their story lines a play.

Recommendations: Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Comic Book is an absolute must for anyone who is a fan of the game. If you’re only just finding out about Dream Daddy, then the book is also an amazing introduction to the world around the game and comics.

I would 100% recommend that you check out both the game and the book!

Please note: I received a copy of Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Comic Book from NetGalley.

A must-read for any fans of the Dream Daddy game!

This was absolutely adorable, hilarious, and so heart-warming. It follows the different dads of Dream Daddy - sometimes in relationships with one another, sometimes as rivals or friends - and is unapologetically diverse, queer as hell, and gorgeous, to boot. I love Dream Daddy so I was absolutely ecstatic to see this graphic novel's existence, and I'll definitely be purchasing a finished copy for my shelves when it releases!

Thank you so much to the publisher for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

As a huge fan of Game Grumps and Dream Daddy the videogame, I was so excited to see a graphic novel version of Dream Daddy with new stories. The stories are cute, the artwork is adorable, and you'll be left feeling all warm and cuddly inside after reading them. In Dream Daddy, a new dad moves to Maple Bay (whom you play in the video game) and, as a single dad, tries to romance the other hot dads in town. We get to learn a little bit about the other dads in this graphic novel through five new stories with each story having different (yet all amazing) artwork. I loved that at the end of the graphic novel there were short interviews with Leighton Gray, Vernon Shaw, and others who worked on the graphic novel. I cannot wait to see more from the Game Grumps team!

Much thanks to NetGalley and Oni Press for the ARC!
