I haven’t read the first book in this series and I really don’t think that you need to. I really enjoyed this book and I would have read it in one sitting if I didn’t keep having interruptions. I’m also looking forward to reading more in this series. I’d class this book as a short easy read and if you only have time to read short stories, and you enjoy book about witches and covens then this is a must read for you.

David Lyons is a very powerful witch, he has been told that he will be a king among the witching community, but he still needs to learn his craft and hone his skills.

Except other covens are out to destroy him and his coven. The other covens who are after them are worried that his coven will become to strong and powerful putting every coven in jeopardy. David doesn’t know the full reason as to why his coven is under attack.

Until one night David is called away as the coven house is being attacked, but David doesn’t know that his coven leader is hiding a big secrets. As she has her own ideas on their coven becoming powerful. She already wants David to sleep with the other witches in the coven, as she wants them to make more pure witches.

Once the threat has been take out at the coven house, David is told to go to another location, that is also under attack. She says that she will explain once everyone is safe. While David is saving this unknown coven of non pure witches, (who only have a very limited power) his pregnant lover is being attacked at the condo he shares with her. He doesn’t hear her cry for help as he is already fighting for his own life at the secret coven.

When David goes home to find his dead lover, and finds out that she was pregnant he goes on a killing spree of revenge, while he’s wondering who he can actually trust. With David on a killing spree their coven leader and her second in command disappeared. What David was lead to believe is not all that it seems. Who can he really trust and what will become of the coven?

This would be a great read for those involved in the nuevo vampire romance jantra which I partake of sparingly. While not my cup of tea know my friend and neighbor will go berserk for this series so I've already turned he onto the author and series and let her go to town. I like my vamprie books more intrigue, dark and sordid, the best one to date was a jarring Russian author that set a scene I will never forget but will recomend this for the lovers of romance novels

Interesting sci-fi, Secret Coven is about what happens when covens clash, death and destruction follow.

David Lyons uses his magic battling witches and demons to save those he loves in this modern-day clash of spell-casters.

I enjoyed this book and hope to read more from this author in the future.
