Description

Five Minutes at Hotel Stormcove is an eclectic collection of flash fiction and short stories, each taking place over the span of five minutes at a legendary hotel.

This collection is multi-genre, both in the sense that the stories come from different genres, but also in the sense that individual stories cross genres, for example sci-fi romance and paranormal humor. Many of the stories have a speculative fiction angle, but others are more literary. Though some stories are serious or sad, they generally have a positive or hopeful feel to them, and there is no dark fiction or horror. The collection is LGBTQIA+ friendly.

As the hotel is also a metaphor for different cultures and art coming together, the stories vary greatly in tone and presentation. Authors write from a variety of cultures and writing styles. English use is not standardized: dialects are preserved and at least a dozen of the stories are written by authors for whom English is not a first language.

The intent of the collection is to entertain through art and discovery, so it is intended for the adventurous reader.
