Enjoyed this book loads of twists and turns and a good if a bit mixed up story but good none the less

Officer Tim Morgan has been assigned to the CID to assist Detective Gabe Shanahan in his investigation involving missing and murdered homeless people. Ann, a homeless woman, comes to the police to report that her friend, Nikki, is missing. During a storm, Nikki, a homeless vet, accepted a ride with a friendly stranger and wakes up in his basement with very little hope to escape. Is anyone looking for her? She needs to get back to protect Ann, her friend. When someone close to Tim is threatened, will he be able to save them? A very gritty story about the homeless and the fear they live with every day on the streets. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. I love books that tie things up as they should and don't leave you with some niggling thing undone. I enjoyed the story, It did keep me guessing until near the end. Well written with only a tiny teeny couple of errors hanging around. Noting big enough to put me off. If there are any out there that get upset about maybe 4 or so little things in an entire book, go past. If you want a great read, take a chance on this one. I had a hard time putting it down.

Like father, like son... Skip sees his father behave terribly (both physically and mentally) towards homeless people from a young age. As he gets older Skip takes on the same attitude as his father yet with an even stronger hatred. Skip lures a homeless woman to his car and he imprisons her in his home. New detective, Tim, and his partner, Gabe, (a seasoned detective) are paired on the case. A number of suspects arise - and we wonder if any of these suspects are "Skip". Of course, as time ticks on, more homeless people are preyed upon.

An interesting story with plenty of action and suspense. Thrills until the last page.! Recommend!

Many Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for quite a good read!

Want a good mystery to read? Read this! A “cop”becomes a detective —something he has wanted to do ever since he joined the police force. His first case is about homeless people being killed. He is working with an experienced detective who is near retirement. He looks at the case differently than the new guy does. As the new “guy” works this case, he doesn’t always follow the older detective’s instructions. This causes problems and guilt for the new detective. It is a difficult case to solve. Does the case get solved?

There are twists and turns in this novel. There is also a little romance which is done quite well. It surprised me which made it more enjoyable for me to read. I liked the author’s style of writing this story. Don’t miss out!

Tim is a seasoned police officer who just got assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit. His new partner Gabe who is a seasoned detective is Tim’s new partner. Tim and Gabe get an easy assignment to break Tim into the new job, but it turns into anything but easy. Homeless people are being murdered and one woman has gone missing.
Nikki is the homeless woman who has been taken hostage by a man nicknamed Skip. She is determined to find a way out of the basement that she has been locked in.
The story is so fascinating I couldn’t put this book down and read the entire thing in one day. I love how Tom Parker wrote the book from the view of Tim, Gabe, Nikki and Skip. The reader gets a chance to view the world from the angles of a detective, a murderer and a homeless person. What an eye opening experience. This novel was brilliant! The story flows so effortlessly, and I am so grateful to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to read. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for the next book from this author.

Suspense, some descriptive brutality, mystery and to be honest, an eye opening look into homelessness. Most people cringe, withdraw from homeless people, Most people believe they are drug addicts, alcoholics, mentally unstable, etc. All of that can be true, but wrapped in this murder mystery is how to often it's homeless mess is one paycheck away. Thanks for the reminder to care, to open my eyes. Thank you for the Arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

The story is written OK, if a little naive in plot and characters. It's an easy read, with a little mystery and suspense.

At Arm’s Length is a fantastic police/ detective crime story.
Officer Tim Morgan and Detective Gabe Shanahan have been assigned an investigation involving missing and murdered homeless people.
This book grabbed me from the very beginning. It held my attention throughout and kept me on the edge of my seat trying to guess what would happen next.
The book is written from the different characters’ point of view, so you get a chance to experience what is happening from the perspectives of a detective, a murderer and a homeless person.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more from this author.

Great read! I believe this may be a debut book and I must say, he got it right on the first trip out the gate! It is fast paced with believable characters, not overly filled.with gore, sex, or expletives & has a budding romance thrown in for good measure, but it is not a cozy mystery. A good blend of a simple straightforward police/detective/ mystery/light thriller, with a favorable ending for all with just enough left hanging loose for a sequel or series to follow.
Mr. Parker: We still need to know who the guy with the stolen identity is, so I will be waiting for the next installment of Detective Tim Morgan of CID! Enjoy the book!

Thanks to the Author, Books Go Social, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy. (ARC). I received this book as a complimentary copy for an unbiased review. The opinions expressed are my own.

A homeless person is found at the nd detectives Tim and Gabe are assigned to the case. An easy case the boss says: Tim is a rookie assigned to Gabe an experienced detective. Then a homeless young lady disappears and her friend reports her. Held captive she is determined to survive, and pretends to go along with her captives ‘orders’, meanwhile plotting her escape. Tim and Gabe struggle to solve the case. They don’t always see eye to eye and Tim does not always follow orders! There are several twists and turns in this mystery which make it a great read. I also learned a little more about the sad state of the homeless, a topic apropos to many of our cities’ concerns. I recommend this book if you like a good mystery.
