Being from Harper's Ferry, and having hiked the AT, I was really interested in this book. But...after reading it, I was torn.
It was a fun, easy read. You could escape into the story.
On the other hand, it was almost too quirky and unrealistic. I kept trying to literally imagine it happening here and that didn't work.
I do think I would have enjoyed it more without my personal knowledge of the area. Therefore, I'm rounding my 3.5 stars up to 4 to make up for my personal bias.
