I loved this book! The concept was something I never thought about, considering I've always been told not to touch my face. But honestly, the face is one of the most important parts to take care of, and sometimes using your hands and fingers is what you've got to do. I enjoyed doing the exercises and they all feel very relaxing. The illustrations and overall style of the pages is easy to follow. The book is fun to look at because of the use of color and font.

This is an interesting little book that offers simple exercises to reduce stress, help with headaches, and theoretically prevent/soften facial lines and reduce puffiness. It is arranged by chapter according to the part of the face, and some exercises are repeated in other chapters. I expected more exercises but quite a lot is more like facial massage (sometimes with lotion or serum) and pressure points like working knuckles in circles down the jawline and under the cheekbones.

Illustrations are provided for each exercise, though at times it's a little hard to follow. This is probably because you'll look utterly ridiculous doing a lot of these exercises and the photographs would illustrate how bizarre people look doing them, even with a beautiful model. You're going to be making some pretty crazy faces. :)

I tried most of the exercises yesterday while reading it and it was surprising how much the pressure points hurt parts of my face where apparently I had a lot of tension I didn't know about. I don't know how well this will work but it's good information to have now. The only big critique is that to do a full workout and see any chance of noticeable results you're looking at well over a half an hour of face exercises a day. I have a hard enough time making time for exercising my body every day. I figure I'll work some of it into things like moisturizing and she does say you can do a lot of it while doing things like walking to the bus (make sure nobody's looking! you'll look insane!) but that is something to keep in mind. If you commit them to memory, it will be a lot easier to absentmindedly do this stuff as you go about your day, but that will take some practice first.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

I lovd the easy guidance in this book. Nice photos. Good basic workouts for young and old. The only thing that I had to mark one star less was the fact that the book did not come in kindle format. Otherwise great!

When I saw this on NetGalley, I could not have clicked on the "wish for" button fast enough.

And I'm really happy that I did. I was previously familiar with several of those exercises, especially the scalp ones. I have to say that I love a good massage of head and face, it's so relaxing.

I will be definitely implementing most of these. It definitely helped me to release the stress and tension I tend to carry on my face. I was shocked by how stretched my face muscles felt and then relaxed the next day.

However, I have to say that some exercises felt a bit repetitive, I was certain I saw several at least twice throughout the book or they were very similar.
Plus several times, I was uncertain about how exactly to do some of the exercises because it seemed like the illustration and the description showed two different things.

But I still enjoyed this very much!

I loved this book and know I will return to it a lot. I always carry tension in my face and jaw and had no idea there were so many workouts to help relieve stress.

"Press Here" gives an overview of exercises for the face. Unfortunately, it feels rather repetitive (especially the later exercises), but I liked the drawings.

Since I now fall in the category of middle age, I am looking for ways to keep wrinkles at bay and tighten up my jawline a bit. I've heard these exercises are beneficial to people like me.

This book has very clear instructions with diagrams that make the exercises easy to follow. Some of these I can even do almost anywhere.

A quick, interesting book to relieve pressure and stress in your facial muscles to feel relaxed and renewed. The illustrations and step-by-step instructions are helpful. Four stars.

I'm not worried about the tone of my face, but I'm always looking for ways to relieve pain. I suffer from migraines so when I saw this book, I was interested to see if it might offer some techniques that could help.

The preparatory exercises are handy to help release tension from the shoulders up. They get you ready to do the next sets of workouts. You can choose a routine or do what you need. If you're also looking for relief from headaches, you'll find a lot here that might help. Ways of touching, manipulating, and moving parts of your face can help relieve tension. I've used a few already and they've helped! Each exercise lists benefits--the feeling as well as the beauty ones. The text descriptions and simple illustrations are clear and easy to understand.

Face Workouts for Beginners is full of techniques for people who want to work on an often overlooked part of their body.

I really enjoyed this book. I went through the full book and marked down my favorite facial exercises. My goal for the new year is to include more self care into my daily routine and the workouts in this book fit perfectly. The images were colorful and eye catching and the descriptions for each workout were easy to understand and brief. I can't wait to get started. Even if I don't see any results in my skin, I know I will feel more relaxed every time I do.

I wasn't sure what this book was all about when I first downloaded it but after opening the first few pages I was wowed! This book guides you through a simple step by step process for each exercise. The author walks you through how to do the exercise giving simple instructions along with pictures and explaining the benefits of each exercise. You will work out your shoulders, neck, throat, mouth cheeks, eyes, forehead and more! After doing a workout I immediately felt less tension and more energized!

Lovely short but informative book about facial massage.

I liked the layout of the book very much, it is not overloaded with information, on the contrary, it is very concise. Book and pages have a clear organisation and the instructions are shown clearly and are easy to follow.

This was an exceptionally pleasant surprise.

After trying the Saks Fifth Avenue FaceGym, I’ve become interested in adapting the concept of face workouts to something I can do at home.

There is no shortage of video available on the subject (some very good, some entirely unhelpful), and I was skeptical about whether teaching on the subject would translate to book form.

Thus I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually got MORE out of this book than most similar types of instruction available in video form. Given the choice, I’ll always choose a book over a video no matter the subject, so I’m quite happy to have discovered this.

Press Here has now earned a permanent place on my vanity and I’m eager to see the long as well as short term results of the workouts.

Press Here! Face Workouts for Beginners by Nadira V Persaud. Aptly described and illustrated workouts to help release tension and replenish the skin. Many useful suggests.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

I loved this whole short read book. Step by step photos and easy instructions of how to exercise every facial and neck problem area you may have. I love these exercises and feel good after doing them.

Good tool for face massages and also how to use pressure and finger/hand smoothing techniques to aid the skin, tone, and lymph drainage of the face. Many who are used to doing stuff like jade rollers or gua sha will find this a bit redundant, but for someone just getting into this field, this is a very good little book to get started. The layout felt a little juvenile at times, the instructions a little convoluted (bit tricky to do the exercise - your eyes are supposed to be closed - then have no clue if you're doing it right or how to proceed).
Recommend reading through this a few times, especially a specific routine, to get a feel for the progression before attempting them. The exercises do seem to work, though.

I loved this book! The concept revolves around exercising your face muscles. I never really thought about this but the concept makes sense to me. I enjoy doing the exercises they feel very relaxing and my muscles actually became sore at first. I really hope that means if I continue to do them I will see results. The illustrations are easy to follow and the pictures and colors give off a fun vibe.

Overall this is a very interesting book about face massage mean to be used for a variety of purposes, from face lift to the release of stress. I feel most anyone can find something for you because just the distressing alone is worth it for me. These are simple massage exercises that are easy to do at home with nothing but your hands no special equipment is necessary. The information is well presented with illustrations and a short description of the massage. This book is definitely worth looking at if this is something that might interest you.

One thing to keep in mind is that a full workout will take over half an hour of face exercises a day. I have a hard enough time making time to exercising my body on a regular basis so I just broke it up into a few exercises a few times a day and I feel it is manageable.

You will need to memorize the exercises if you want to do them on the go which is how I have been doing it and a few times at stop lights I have had to laugh as I realize people are looking at me (like I have lost my mind). I then pretend I am an animated singer lol… But who cares right?? I don’t know any of those people so I guess they can think I am crazy ha-ha… But seriously I think over time they will actually tone my face muscles which I need. I received this book form NetGalley for an honest review.

I read the entire book cover to cover the first day and then spent little more than a week trying out the various exercises.
For anyone dealing with stress there are a lot of simple exercises you may (or may not) already recognize, but having the correct execution of them in words & pictures is even better!
I enjoyed a lot of this and did find that it helped to reduce my stress levels by integrating some of the more successful ones into my daily routine.
The speedy routines at the back of the book were probably the best bit.
I actually ended up using the Speedy De-Stress routine most mornings before work and will likely continue it (both before and after shifts).
There were some weird ones in here that I had a good giggle at, but overall it was delightful!
Much love to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for my DRC.

I enjoyed this book! Nadira V Persaud breaks down the workouts so they are easy to understand and use.
The book is split into three parts: getting ready, the workouts, and express work outs. Persaud walks you through getting prepared and helps you understand why these massage techniques work. The express workout are great when you are short on time. I really like the idea she gives on how to incorporate some of these into your own skin care routine using activities while putting on moisturizer etc.
Minus one star for blowing off real medicine and only including a disclaimer about doctors. Some of these workouts are awesome for me; I get a lot of sinus infections and this can help me with pressure and sinus movement. But it would never fix the genetic disorder I have that causes this pressure. I am a firm believer that everyone needs to work together and not blow off other practices for eh best health of the person in question.

I had recently read about facial massage before coming across this book but didn't know exactly where to start. Press Here! gives countless exercises on taking care of your face, and other close by regions (neck, collarbone, ect). I have recently learned that I have tmj so I was hoping to find some exercises to relax my jaw and mouth muscles which I was delighted to find here. There are also great exercises to reduces baggy eyes and wrinkles, something most 30 something women like me would find interesting. There are also many other exercises targeting certain areas to reduce stress and help us look out best. I absolutely recommend this book to any woman looking for ways to look and feel her best!

Nice visuals and explanations about some movements ( individual) and some routines to add working out to your face. Some people may not think of facial workouts but this can be a nice reference of things to do.

This book demonstrated ways to press or stretch muscles in your face and neck to give them a "workout." The main intent seemed to be to prevent wrinkles, get rid of bags under the eyes, etc. However, some of the suggested exercises were to release tension in your face. I really liked those. The exercises are easy to do and only require your fingers (though she does suggest using lotion or oil for some of the movements to make them easier). I would recommend this book to people who want simple exercises to do to tone or de-stress your face.

Each page showed an exercise. There was one or two illustrations showing how to do the exercise along with some text explaining the exercise. These were easy to follow (though there was one exercise that I wasn't sure about). A sidebar also explained the benefits of the exercise, how many times to repeat the exercise, how long to do the exercise, where to do the exercise, and any equipment or tips about doing the exercise. There were several exercise groups: to warm up, when you wake up, general work on the entire face, then exercises that focus on your mouth, cheeks, forehead, or skin, and then some quick exercise sequences for looks or tension.

Great tips and tricks to revitalize you face and skin. Each workout has thorough instructions and great illustrations. They are easy to do and I have incorporated some of them in my morning skin routine. Each section concentrates on on an area of the face. At the end there are a few quick express workouts. If you are looking to destress, get rid of fine lines or shape up your face then I recommend this book.

I was so excited when I received this ARC to review. Growing up, I was taught a lot of facial massages to help with blood flow around the face and to relax muscles around the eye. I was excited to see what more there was to face massage.

There are a lot of exercises that the book goes over and they're categorized by areas of the face as well as purpose. At the end of the book are a few workouts to follow; they're short and easy to follow.

The illustrations are to the point and quite aesthetic. If you follow along as you read the book, you might find some are easier to follow than others, and you might find some of your favorites that help relax your muscles, de-stress, or un-knot tension that you didn't know was there. It's a nice toolkit of exercises to know that you can do when you have time.

Great pictorial presentation of face workouts. I liked the way the workouts were presented, very easy to understand and perform. I would definitely consider buying a physical copy to keep with me.

I received a free copy of the book from NetGalley.

I want to thank the publisher, Fairwinds Press, and netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this cute little book..
I thoroughly enjoyed this little book of facial massages. I have heard o facial yoga before but never read a book on this topic. Some of the massages are similar to those you receive when you get a facial and you leave with this health low on our face.. When you buy this book, you can learn how to do these exercises and have that health glow anytime you like. This book and the facial exercises that are very well described or you to follow along will be a great addition to your self care routine. I highly recommend this book!

I really enjoyed going through this book and am looking forward to trying many of the different movements. I did do some as I was going through each page and there's a lot that I mentally made a note to go back to and check our since I know they could help with tension and headaches. I liked that each movement had a corresponding image to show exactly the movement required. This was a good book to browse through and learn some stress relief techniques.

I have a facial massage routine already in place, buuuut: this book was a Eureka moment! Whilst I did not care much for the cutesy layout with its curly scrolls and loopy (hard-to-read) headlines, everything else about this instruction manual was excellent. The sequence of exercises was logical, the descriptions/illustration were to the point and my face had a nice relaxed glow after even one session. Will buy the book - maybe more than once... with Christmas looming ;-)
AN ENTHUSIASTIC FIVE STARS!

I enjoyed following the face workouts suggested in the book. The reason why I picked it was that I suffer from tension headaches (too much screen time), so I was looking for a natural way to release tension and tone facial muscles. The instructions are easy to understand and follow, while the pictures make the routines more memorable. I loved the whole look: the colours, the fonts, the illustrations- everything is so soothing and relaxing. The information is clearly organised and there is no clutter.
A beautiful book that would make an excellent present for a friend.

I saw Jack LaLanne on TV when I was a kid, and he recommended exercising your face muscles to keep them in shape as you would any other muscles. This was an idea I've never forgotten, and I often find myself making crazy faces while driving as I exercise my face in the ways that seem most intuitive. So I was glad to get this book of actual techniques to work out your face. The drawings are descriptive enough to follow, and the pages are not too cluttered. It makes an easy guide for finding exercises that work for you.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC for the purpose of review.

Persuad's book provides easy to follow directions for facial workouts that help to promote circulation, firmer skin and reduce stress. The exercises can be done at home, and I found them very relaxing, especially since I suffer from TMJD and have issues with clenching my facial muscles.
