Description

“Bending over me solicitously, was a porcelain-headed, laughing policeman; wide-mouthed with mirth he leaned closer, tilting his head in a parody of concern. Eyeless he watched me, tongueless he chanted, I knew the chant and my mind couldn’t help but chant with him, ‘Oh, I wish, I wish, I wish I knew, exactly what to do with you.’”

Telepathy, along with sundry other odd abilities, have landed Stella more than once, in situations at best controversial, at worst life-threatening. But she’s always known; you have to fight your own corner as best you can, no point beating yourself up about it.

Now though, times have changed, different priorities. She’s married, with a baby on the way and a flourishing business. She simply has to deal with a couple of worrying issues and then all should be smooth sailing.

But, isn't it a fact; just when you think you’ve got all your ducks in a row, life can turn right around and bite you on the bottom?

Another Roller-Coaster of a Psi-Fi Thriller in the Strange Series.

Stella is one of my favourite characters so I was eagerly anticipating this book coming out, and I was not disappointed. As usual this is a genre bending .mind boggling, and really funny book to read.It defies description really, I love the writing style, Mrs Messik has the most deliciously warped and funny mind, and I mean that as a compliment. This was action packed as usual with a complex plot that I am not going to give away, and is also true to the times it is set in,its a little trip down memory lane, although most of my memories were never like this ! I am still chuckling at some of the funny descriptions such as the man who put his two fingers up to give Stella a sign we are all familiar with and then somewhat lost control of his steering wheel when she wouldn't allow him to put his hand back I can just imagine this man driving through London giving the v sign to all and sundry ! Loved reading this book, it was funny creative and a cracking read.I really recommend it.

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the eARC.
This 3rd in the series is another treat by Ms. Messik; thoroughly enjoyable, good stuff to take you out of yourself in these uncertain times.
Stella is a great character and now that she's married with a baby and running her successful business, you'd think that would be enough on her plate and it is...until it isn't! I'm glad I read the previous book, because it made a complicated plot quite easy to follow. I loved reconnecting with the characters and had quite a few chuckles (as well as a few chilling moments)...the mix of the paranormal with the humor and the excellent writing makes for a must-read. Definitely recommended!

I absolutely love this series - one of my absolute favourites, and as I keep saying, it seems to have been written just for me!

We catch up with Stella, who is now married, living in Edgware with her husband, and with a baby on the way. Her business is flourishing and that along with everything else you would think would ensure she was too busy to get into any trouble - fortunately you would be wrong!

One of her staff is being 'moulded' by a controlling husband, and Stella feels the need to keep an eye on this situation, but rather more disturbing is the feeling that her old friend Ruth is being controlled too but by a much more malevolent source. Stella is implored to keep out of situations for her own protection and those of her baby - but fortunately Stella is just not a girl to listen.

I read this book in a couple of days because I just couldn't put it down. It made me giggle, gasp, and desperately long for more. If you read nothing else this year, read this series. Amazing!

First of all, you need to read the previous two books, otherwise this will not make sense. That’s one of the many reasons I liked this book – it doesn’t waste time filling in what has happened previously and you are launched straight into the story. This is a genre-defying book, and made me laugh, cover my eyes and feel anger all within a short space of time. The book is great fun and a must-read if you have read and loved any of Marilyn Messik’s other books
