Description

'We have been to the Wildlife Zoo', is a day filled with individual written and illustrated portraits of animals and people during a family day out. Delight at the high diving penguins, wombats with pet cats, people eating too many ice creams and hippos bursting at the seams to name just a few. A colourful almost subversive and on occasion mildly ridiculous look at the family day out to the time served institution, we know as 'The Zoo'.

The day is filled from end to end with astute verse that matches the light and colour of the illustrations. During this big 'Family Day Out' a cross section of Zoo favourites and a sprinkling of some of the more unusual animals in our world appear, along with some people of course. The day takes the reader through the Zoo during the morning and into the afternoon. Ultimately finishing at the last enclosure of the day when it is time to go home.

With lavish full colour illustrations on every page, and an easy to read flow, this is certainly a book to delight the reader, the listener and the viewer.
