Love Heart Lane – where friends are there for you no matter what
A second chance…
When her grandfather Marley passes away Grace Power discovers she’s been left the beautiful but crumbling estate of Heartcross Castle. As a single mum of three, Grace has no idea what she’s going to do with it – but who can say no to a roof over their kids’ heads and a chance to get away from past hurts?
And a forever home
Heartcross Castle is full of secrets – especially a lost security deposit box that holds the truth to everything… But when celebrity chef Andrew Glossop sets his eyes on the castle and, to make matters worse, mistakes Grace as the new housekeeper, Grace tells him there is absolutely NO CHANCE he is getting his hands on her home.
Devastated to have got it so wrong, Andrew will do anything to make it up to her – but is she willing to listen?

What a truly lovely read this was! It’s the 7th book in the Love Heart Lane series, but can easily be read as a standalone book. We reconnect briefly with some of the residents of Heartcross, who we have met in the other books, but this book does focus on Grace, grand-daughter of Marley Power who owns the Heartcross Castle estate, and her three children. Grace has returned to Heartcross, following the death of her grandfather, after many years away. He’s left Heartcross Castle to her, but it’s certainly not the grand majestic castle that she remembers it was! I read that the author really struggled with writing this book. However, whatever struggles she went through, by the time I’ve got to the last page it’s obvious that she got through them and a fabulous feel-good romantic story had emerged!! I have read all of the previous books, and have loved them all! This though has to be my favourite of the series so far and I loved being within the Castle walls with Grace and her three beautiful boys! Celebrity chef, Andrew Glossop took a bit of warming to, but I couldn’t help but smile and giggle as Grace’s boys played their pranks on him! I loved Grace’s character and sympathised with her situation. It was heart-warming to see her return to her childhood home and friends, but very sad that she never got to make amends with her grandfather. The location of the book was perfect and I could picture the Castle and its grounds as I read. The spot of my favourite character though has to be reserved for one of the feathered ones, by the name of Delia, who always seemed to be causing just as much mischief as Grace’s boys did! The book flowed along at a lovely pace, and it was filled with lots of love, laughter, friends and family. It was an absolutely wonderful read which captured my interest (and heart!) right from the very beginning. I was genuinely sorry to finish the book and I’m really looking forward to my next visit to Heartcross! Would definitely recommend!!
Another fab read in the Love Heart Lane series, where the main focus is Grace going home to Heartcross after running away at sixteen. With characters you will love a few annoying ones this a joyful read. I absolutely adore this series and think this particular story would make a perfect Hallmark movie. Heartcross always sounds wonderful with a great community, a place I would certainly love to visit if it was real. I highly recommend you pick up this little delight. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love the Love Heart Lane series and this adds to the collection! The castle and to have it inherited and return to a former life. Grace and her three boys return home and this where there adventure begins. Like the love interest Andrew and the bond they share from the beginning. Loved to read the other places part of the Lane too!
This was such a welcome return to Heartcross and also for our main character Grace it was exactly what she needed the most. Grace left Heartcross 10 years ago following a heated argument with her Grandad. Over the last decade Grace's life has changed drastically and she is still carrying the physical and emotional scars of a disastrous relationship. Even though she's now the mother of three boys she has never felt so alone. When she hears of the sad passing of her grandad she understands that this is the escape she needs for her and her boys and it's now time to go home. Grace has inherited her late grandad's castle and she feels a glimmer of hope for the future. The castle in the past was her home and held many good memories but was overshadowed by the last conversation with her grandad. Arriving at the castle Grace is dismayed to find it in need of some serious tlc bringing further worries and hurdles for her to overcome. Grace was a wonderful character to read about, she had spirit as a child but sadly a toxic relationship made her lose her zest for life. The best thing to come out of this disastrous ten years were her 3 boys. The boys were such fun and added another dimension to the storyline bringing lightness to dark times. Not only has she ben left the castle but she also was left a tenant, non other than celebrity chef Andrew Glover. Andrew Glover's life couldn't be any different to Grace's and they soon clash but slowly as time goes on Andrew can see that this young family bring a certain energy back to the castle and grounds. I loved this story. Seeing the castle through the eyes of Grace and her boys was charming and nostalgic but i also felt pangs of poignancy. Christie Barlow has created a story of new beginnings bringing much hope for the future. There's that wonderful community spirit that we've enjoyed from the residents of Heartcross leaving a comforting ambiance. I didn't want the story to end but for Grace and her boys this is the beginning of a brand new adventure were life can be enjoyed again.
Oh my days this book is amazing. I love the back story of how graces grandfather got the castle. It is one amazing story just wish it hadn't ended I loved it so much. I don't want to give spoilers so it is hard to say what I loved about the story but let's just say the last chapter gave me a warm tingle and a smile 😃 all over my face. Thank you Christie Barlow for this book. Can't wait to buy it.
I was so excited to read Heartcross castle as I have loved all the love heart lane series and this has to be my new favourite! A real heartwarming feel good read with a fantastic diverse range of new characters blended with many familiar faces from previous books made this a truly great read that I didn’t want to finish,it enthralled me from start to finish and really epitomises that you shouldn’t put off what you can do today as tomorrow is never guaranteed! Grace a single mum of three boys is a victim of domestic abuse and very much down on her luck, when an important letter from her estranged grandfathers solicitor arrives, this letter provides the opportunity for change but Grace is wary of returning home to Heartcross castle due to the way she left many years ago! Grace and her boys discover real happiness as friends rally around to help them, a new acquaintance provides a necessary diversion and family secrets are revealed! Such a feel good read full of community spirit, second chances, honesty and happiness! Thank you netgalley for this early read

Heartcross is a viklisge that I would love to live in. Fantastic series by a very talented author Highly recommend
Heartcross Castle by Christie Barlow is the latest book in the Love Heart Lane series. From the first page I was hooked as we follow the story of Grace and her three young sons; twins Freddie and Joey and youngest son Billy who hasn’t spoken since he witnessed a traumatic incident. When her grandfather passes away, Grace inherits Heartcross Castle. It’s beautiful but dilapidated but how can she say no as this will give her and her sons the chance to escape the past hurts. This book is a heartwarming feel-good read. It has secrets, love, friendship, community and a bit of romance. There are some wonderful characters, I challenge you not to fall in love with Billy l, and you will be entertained from start to finish. A fabulous five star read. Thank you to NetGalley, One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy. Grace left Heartcross a long time ago, hoping to have a happy life. Unfortunately, things haven’t turned out as she hoped. She received a letter informing her that her grandfather Marley has died. Not only that, but she’s now the owner the gorgeous estate of Heartcross Castle. Being a mother of three, and now that her grandfather is no longer alive, she’s unsure what she’s going to do with a big place. But, she’s now got somewhere to go, a place for her and her kids. She can leave the past behind. But what sort of welcome will she get from those she left behind, her old friends? The castle, holds a lot of secrets - mostly in a box that’s being left for her in a bank security box. Renting the servants quarter is Andrew Glossop a well-known chef, who’s set to buy the castle, and when she meets him for the first time, he thinks she’s his housekeeper. Grace, makes it perfectly clear that he’s got fat chance to get the castle, after over-hearing a conversation. Andrew, now has to make her realise that what she heard was incorrect, but will Grace believe him and is the castle going to be her forever home and what are the hidden secrets in that box?……. Highly recommend this series.
Hadn't read all the books in this series, however i enjoyed it and it felt like a book of its own. Lovely story, I felt like it could of had more mentioning of the castle and exploring it as I found it hard to picture. On the first night I'd be in the same room as the kids espeically with it being run down and her not being there for years, secret passages from the castle to the servant quarters being assessable from both sides but her not fully knowing the guy staying in the servnats quarters and happy to leave her kids alone whilst she slept in the kitchen!? However, that's just my opinion. The kids seemed a little grown up with their behavior and speaking but that didn't really matter. The story flowed lovely and really pulled me in. Thankyou for giving me the chance to read it!
Grace and her three boys need to escape from her abusive husband, then out of the blue she finds out that she has inherited a castle in Scotland from her estranged grandfather. She returns to Heartcross after running away years before after an argument with her grandfather and wonders how she will be received by her of friends. She finds the castle run down and with a tenant in the old servant quarters. I've been struggling reading recently, with the previous book a very worthy, but deep story. I read this one in just a couple of sessions and found it very uplifting. I do have a weakness for stories with damsels in distress, they bring out the "white night" in me, although certainly in this case Grace is certainly not a shrinking violet. Andrew, the tenant, is a celebrity chef who initially comes across as very gruff and certainly doesn't understand struggling for money. Despite their differences they do find a spark of attraction. Overall this story is about friendships and family and is ideal for chewing you up on a Winter's evening. I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book. Another great book in the Love heart Lane series from Christie. Grace Power has 3 boys and is in a violent relationship that she seems to be stuck in. She is contacted by her grandfather’s solicitor who lets her know that he has unfortunately died and has left Heartcross Castle to Grace. Grace decides to up sticks, escape her violent relationship and move to Heartcross Castle. She hasn’t visited since she ran away 10 years ago, will her friends welcome her back with open arms, will the castle be as she remembers it or will it all end in disaster. A book about friends, love and family.
