Admittedly I had not read the book’s description as I was initially drawn to the title. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a lesson to be learnt! My four year old granddaughter will love listening to the book because of the voices and story, but the message will plant a seed in her brain. Well done!

The second "Grumpy" I listen to it, with the funny narrator and a beautiful story about nature and animals, like the first. A children's book with a message of stop, the littering.

Mr. Squirrel finds a treasure and is very happy about it. But, this isn't a treasure, a plastic. Mr. Squirrel, Grumpy, and green Parrot try to protect themselves from the trash. And this cute, short story is about them who helping humans and keep the park clean.

Thanks to Netgalley, I have given an honest review of Mr. Squirrel Finds A Treasure (a Grumpy the Iguana and Green Parrot Adventure Book 2) by Susan Chapman, Narrated by Trevor Gobel.

Oh me & my 5 year old adored this book! What a wonderful & simple way to teach the importance of keeping our parks and cities litter free, along with the awareness about the ill effects of plastic.

The narrator does a wonderful job with different voice overs for Mr Squirrel, grumpy iguana and the green parrot.

It was so heartwarming to see how all the animals united to fight for keeping their surroundings free from toxic waste generated by humans.

A beautiful story for small children!

I do love a children’s audiobook which has a narrator that will engage an audience and a story with messages about our world that children can learn from. This audiobook ticks those boxes. A good listen. 5/5 stars.

This was a short story with a big message.

Mr. Squirrel has found what he thinks is a treasure -- but his friends parrot and grumpy iguana know that it's plastic and could be harmful.

Sure enough Mr. Squirrel gets into trouble with his new treasure but his friends are there to help. What parrot decides to do to remind humans to be more careful about disposing of plastic is a wonderful idea!

Parrot collects the trash in the park and drops it to spell out "STOP", meaning please stop littering!!

The local press gets involved and soon there are signs that remind park goers about how harmful plastics can be for the environment and for the animals.

A great story reinforcing thinking about and caring for our natural environment and the animals that reside there.

While I liked the audiobook, I think that this book is aimed at young children and they would probably enjoy having the physical book read to them. I was able to view a few pages of the book on another site and the illustrations are bright and colorful and I think little ones would enjoy looking at the photos.

The other option would be to purchase the hard copy and then have the audiobook to listen to along with looking at the pages in the book.

I think the target audience for this book would be 4 to 5 year old youngsters.

I received an audiobook of this children's book from the publisher through NetGalley.

I listened to the audiobook of this title with my grandson. We loved reading books but the audiobook also kept his attention on a short car ride.

We have become huge fans of Susan Chapman books. Short, compact and full of environmental messages that I appreciate as a a grandparent.

Mr. Squirrel finds a treasure that is under a rock, stuck. As Grumpy the Iguana and the Green Parrot help, Mr. Squirrel finds the "rock" is trash and enlists help for the park.

The audiobook narrator does a terrific job bringing the characters to life

I listened to this audiobook with my 5 and 7 year old. While the very literal 7 year old was every so slightly put off by the fact that Mr. Squirrel did not, in fact, find a real treasure they both very much enjoyed the story.

It was a cute story that packed a much deeper message on taking care of our planet and our animals by doing the bare minimum of picking up after ourselves. I thought it was a good book to spark a discussion with my kids about different things that can hurt animals and why we always need to clean up after ourselves. We originally listened in the car and used the rest of the time in the car just talking about what we can do to help keep animals and the planet healthy.

Both of my kids say their favorite part was when they made the people stop and both give it 5 stars. They have asked for several re-listens since the first listen a few days back which is a sign of a good children's audiobook in my eyes.
